I have called the salon more than several times and left several friendly and hopeful voicemail messages. Nothing. Then I sent a text trying to get any information at all.. nothing. Then I went to their website and clicked on artists it only showed three and it didn't appear that any of them could do a service I don't know what's going on I think this place is now closed.⁉. When I looked at the website it did not show what artist was doing what it seems to be very poorly run after several calls more than several calls and sending text you just get ghosted! At the very least far from professional. read more

This review is strictly for lash extensions by Lexi at this salon. Getting my lashes done is always a treat. Lexi is not only talented, but she is very personable. She has a room in the salon with a big, comfortable recliner to relax in while getting pampered. While I usually chat it up with her, the chair is perfect for a quick cat nap. I'm always happy with how well my lashes turn out and they last awhile too! I can push my appointments to every 3 weeks if I have to and my lashes still look good. She's great with working around my work schedule too. If you're looking for a lash gal, I highly recommend checking her out. read more

Salon Bobby Pin - Lashes - Hair Salons Near Me - Reno, Nevada

Before reading this review, take 10 seconds... and R.I.P my hair!!! You guys, it took almost two weeks to write this review. So I went to "Salon Bobby Pin" for an appointment with "Marly," I found her on Instagram because the girl who does my hair was not taking appointments until June. I contacted her and let her know about my time availability. She had an opening Thursday, Jan. 24th at 10 AM. I told her I had school at 3and she said we should be done by that time. I arrived late to my appointment, but the stylist was friendly, and she said it was ok. We started at 10:30 am my "balayage touch up" and hair cut. The salon was pretty and vintage-looking; I liked that. The girl started my treatment, and for some reason, she bleached the crap out of my hair. She put all these colors that were not what I was looking for. It was 2:30 pm and I decided to contact my classmate because she was not even halfway doing the bleaching. To make the story shorter 7:00 pm hits the clock, my hair was nowhere close to what I wanted I just tell the girl I will be back in a week to CORRECT that color because I was sure I was not comfortable with it. BIG MISTAKE, you know what guys? You should stay until you are happy with the result. I was exhausted after 7 hours of work in my hair and sad about missing my classes, but I should not have left. I should have stayed until I was 100% happy with the color. Two days later I had to correct it in Las Vegas and get the roots more decent. As you can see in my photos, it looks all stained and not professionally done. My advice in my experience is not to leave until you get what you asked. I do not think I will get back to this salon. This girl really messed up my hair. Now it is all broken and I don't feel comfortable. Plus I had to pay a lot of money for my "balayage" and then to get it fix in LAS VEGAS. Not to say your experience will be bad, but in case it is DO NOT LEAVE IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY. read more

So the question is when your hair stylists moves, what is one to do to find a new one........ GROUPON it, yep that is how I found Meggan. My experience started off very BUMPPY and almost wrote GROUPON to get my money back even before meeting Meggan. I called here for two weeks leaving messages and got nothing back... Then when she did get back to me she apologized and told me she had a cold and a death in the family and was at Burning man. Ok, ALL EVERY GOOD reasons. :) I bought the cut and all over color for 45.00, which is a rocking good deal. I explained what/how I wanted my hair and even brought pics to help.... She knew exactly what I was asking for and did a awesome job. She is VERY VERY busy and is always booked a month out, but well worth the wait. I jumped back on GROUPON and grabbed another one for a cut/condoning from her for only 25.00. Winter is coming and deep condoning is always needed for this area. read more

We will never be back to this salon after being blown off this morning by Melina!!!! Melina has cut our toddler's hair cuts twice so this was our third appointment. I was also going to talk to her today about getting my hair done here as well, forget that! I have to text her multiple times to get an appointment for my kids (when I first called to schedule they gave me her number and said to text her). She was late last time to our appointment - maybe not a big deal to some but with two toddlers it's very hard when people are late as they want to get into everything and don't want to sit there. So after having to text Melina twice to schedule a hair cut she said she could get us in today @9am. We walk in @9 and another lady is there with a nail client and asked us why we were there (Melina obviously wasn't there). So we sit an wait, 15 mins after sitting there I text Melina to see if we are still on for today. She responds after 5 mins saying "yes almost there!" Then a few mins later she says "sorry, ten mins." Then another ten mins later she says we can reschedule if we want. At this point we've left, how ridiculous!!!! So you lied and said almost there when obviously you knew you weren't. It's beyond rude and unprofessional to make a client wait that long and then lie about when you will show up. On top of this, she's a mom so she should know how hard it is to get out of the house and keep little kids occupied some where. Truly disappointment and now I'm on the search for a new place for my kid's to get their hair cuts and myself as well since I wanted her to cut and highlight my hair. Unprofessional!!! read more

I was in desperate need of a hair cut, since we had just gotten off the stay at home orders, and my hair was just too long. I decided to call around places to see if I could get a spot and came across Camille. Camille was awesome. She inquired about my current hair style and color so she knew what to expect before she even met me in person. I was able to send her photos and when we got to the appointment, was pretty much ready to go. Time is money, and she saved me some, in the long run. I have naturally platinum blonde hair, and I wanted something like a balayage. She introduced me to some new colors and used mine choices as well, and the turnout was great. I always have to sit longer or go with a darker color because color fades so fast with my hair, and she was apprehensive at first, but I assured her I was comfortable going darker, to go crazy! And we did and I'm in love. To top it off, Camille has a spitfire personality, so it makes for great company while sitting in a salon chair for so long. Thank you, Camille! You're amazing. Can't wait to do it again! read more

I go to Cass Leonard for my haircuts on my wavy/curly hair, and I will never go to to anyone else. Every cut is a conversation, and she takes great care in executing my vision every time. read more

I have gotten my hair done here multiple times. I've been on a peacock themed (purple, blue, and teal highlights) phase for a couple of months now and Meggan does an extraordinary job every time! She won't schedule me unless she knows she has more than enough time to dedicate to my hair. She's very patient with my indecisiveness and is always excited to play with colors. She always engages me in conversations she has with her coworkers or other customers who are there at the time. The girls who work there are all very friendly and the salon is clean everytime I've gone in there. She used color products from Tressa and that stuff is very long lasting if you follow her tips and instructions. I am always exciting to come to her salon to have my hair worked out. Never has Meggan disappointed me and I will definitely be making my return once I discover my next obsession. read more

Finally found my hair person in Reno! Meggan is literally the hair expert in town and will make sure that not only are you happy, but your hair is healthy. Let me just tell you, I'm not the most decisive person and I also can be any hairstylist's worst nightmare. That is because one minute I want long black hair and the next minute I want a short blonde bob, then guess what I'll want it back dark brown. Meggan has worked with me to always ensure I get exactly what I'm looking for when I walk in - but also lets me know how to make sure my hair doesn't die from all the color. She is the most friendly person and will keep you talking for hours. She makes sure you know exactly what she's doing so you learn and understand what is going on your hair and how it treats the hair. She's the real deal expert and will not steer you in the wrong direction. I've seen her do anything from the basic haircut to the beautiful unicorn colors. If you want someone reliable who is looking out for both you and your hair - don't look any further, you found your hair person too! read more

This place is super cute and every single person you encounter within the business is wonderfully pleasant. The owner Meggan is so sweet, engaging and inviting! I booked a nail appointment with Sasha and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! She herself was an absolute joy to talk to, and the actual quality of her work is breathtaking. I had some pretty horrific nail experiences in the past, but I learned to trust again, and I'm so thankful I did! I can't wait for my next appointment! Thanks ladies! read more

I love nail days. Sasha is my go-to gal, she is honestly so talented and knows what she's doing. She creates beautiful art on your nails. I only go here for my nails so, I haven't interacted much with any of the other girls. Meggan the owner is very nice, attentive and greets everyone that comes in with a smile and a 'hello'. Great ambiance. read more

Ok. So just like most people, both my daughter ( the 16 year old) and I have had HORRIBLE experiences with trying to get our hair cut. I have curly hair and as anybody that has curly hair in this climate, it's a bitch to maintain. My daughter (being 16) likes to FRY her hair in the attempt to look amazing for school each and every morning. By an amazing stroke of luck (and a great tip in a bar) we found Melina!! What an angel!!! We will never go to anyone else again. Unfortunately I had let my hair go too long and was afraid I would have to cut off a bit more length than I would have liked. The amazing thing is that Melina only took off the damaged hair so there was almost no hair on the floor but the rest of my curls were so happy- they boinged up in joy. She did the same great job for my daughter. She was so happy that she let Meline cut a bang where no one else has gone and the girl not only didn't freak but was so happy with the outcome of the cut she promptly announced she would never go to another stylist EVER!!!! She mention some products septic to our needs to try and said that she was going to attend a class for curly hair so she could learn more about in depth issues. This girl is amazing!!!! read more

LOVE this place. I have gotten my haircuts done by Melina W. For a few years now. Let me start by saying how particular I am. I hadn't had a steady hairdresser for about 4 years. And then there was Melina. She is everything you could want in a hairdresser. Knocked my pixie cut out of the park. I also love how trendy she is. I can come in with an idea, and she leads me to a cut that is perfect for my hair and face shape. But of course these days it's not enough to just be top notch in your skill: she has an incredible work ethic and an energy you are just at ease with. Such a likable person. The salon is very professional yet laid back. Very cute kind of retro feel. Every one of the stylists seems to work together, offering drinks and such. Very community oriented feel. All in all, I love my days when I get my haircut. An overall anxiety ridden experience has been transformed into somewhat of a retreat. Lookin great, feeling great. Thank you Melina!! read more

I went to Bobby Pin because of a Groupon. I've been to at least 3 other salons with Groupons, but this one is a keeper. It's a small place, but very friendly and arty. It's midtown, but has parking right outside the door. Meggan not only listened to what I had to say, but made suggestions. I have thick, curly hair, but didn't want a wedge cut. She suggested something asymmetrical, which is what I wanted and no other stylist had been able or willing to do. She knew exactly what to do with my curly mop! I'm SOOOO happy with my cut, even 2 days later, I don't think I'll let anyone else cut my hair, EVER!! P.S. don't go by my profile pic as of 7/17. That's a before picture! read more

I bought a Groupon for this place and thankfully I wasn't able to use it so I can get my money back and go somewhere else. I've called this salon five times with no answer each time. I called and left a message over the weekend because I thought even if someone wasn't in then at least they would get my message and call me back Monday morning. No call, so again I called back and left a message when nobody answered during their actual office hours. Still no call after that message either so giving them the benefit of the doubt I called back a few more times before I just got sick of it. Their answering machine says they value their customers but I think it is poor business if you can't even answer the phone, maybe get a receptionist then? I'll be taking my money elsewhere. read more

First time here at salon bobbypin! I had a balayage done to lighten my hair. Melina did a great job! :) very pleased with her service and the way she let's you know what's going on during the process. She even showed me how to style my hair when I'm at home. Will be back again. read more

I bought a Groupon for a gel set by Nicole. I was super excited to try something new and treat myself. I chose Nicole specifically because all the reviews were beaming about how amazing she and the salon were. However, when I contacted Nicole to set my appointment and she informed me she didn't have any appointments available before my Groupon expired and that she could schedule me further out but that I would have to pay the full price. The Groupon policy is that if a business is booked beyond your expiration date, the merchant is expected to honor your purchase if you contact them prior to the expiration date (which I did). I forwarded this information to Nicole and asked her again to please reconsider honoring my purchase. Nicole never responded back so I contacted Groupon customer support and reported that they had contacted her on my behalf to set an appointment, still no response. Major disappointment and confusion, considering my experience was so negative and off putting in contrast to others' raving reviews. Would not recommend. read more

I've had a hard time finding a place to have my hair cut. The cuts are always fine but nothing I've ever loved. I came here to see Melina because of a group on voucher I had and hoping for a different experience. This was the first time I've ever professionally colored my hair and Melina did such a great job taking care of me! She worked with ease and picked a great color for my highlights. She gave me a different cut than I've gotten in the past and showed me how to style my hair. It was beach gorgeous! I loved it and cannot say enough good things about Melina and this salon. I'm definitely going to come back. Thanks Melina! read more

Melina is awesome! I had had experiences where I had given stylists pictures of that I wanted before and had terrible results. Melina totally delivered and improved on what I wanted. I have had tons of compliments and will be a regular here :) read more

It is impossible to get a nail appt here. You have to text them to get an appt. but they don't text back. This is no way to do a business.

This review is specifically for Milena at Salon Bobby Pin. I found this salon on accident while browsing Groupon;s online. The salon is close to where I live so I figured for the price I was quoted I might as well give it a try. I have had a difficult time to say the least finding a good stylist here in Reno but my hair was in need of a makeover and so I took a chance on Milena. I am sooooo happy I did! Milena is amazing! She fixed my haircut and made my color the most beautiful color I have EVER had. Blonde is hard and she nailed it! I have been getting compliments everywhere I go and wish I had more of her business cards because I literally got more than 10 compliments yesterday. In addition to being talented her prices are very reasonable. A child's haircut under age 11 is their age so my 7 year old's haircut is only $7. I am so happy to have found Milena. I am now a loyal customer and referring everyone I know. Give her a try. You will love her too! read more

Meggan gave me the worst haircut of my entire life. I showed her a pic of what I wanted. I explained what I wanted and what I got isn't even close. What's even worse is that she chopped about 5 inches off when I requested about an inch shorter so I can't go elsewhere to get it fixed. My hair is at ear level, without any styling, with a mysterious chopped piece on one side. It looks like a toddler attacked me with a scissors! read more

Had an aromatherapy facial with Deedra; she's amazing. Had compliments on how nice my skin looked days after I had my facial. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. Bought two more facials as gifts! read more

Came in and saw Nicole for a French manicure, super friendly & good quality work! Would recommend.

Sasha is amazing!! She is not only a great nail tech she's an artist and does the best nail art ever!!!

I would recommend this place to everyone! Everyone working in the salon is always super nice and fun to chat with, they all do great work! Melina is by far the best hair dresser I have ever had. I used to be one of those annoying clients who would always come back at least once after getting my hair done to get something fixed, but with her I've been more than happy each time on the first visit! Definitely give her a call, she's amazing! read more

I had a nail appointment with Dev and she turned out to be one of the most unprofessional people I have ever experienced. First of all, she let me know that her price was $30. Which wouldn't have been a problem had she not posted on all of her social media sites that her price would be going to that starting November 1st (and my appointment was in September). When I asked her about this, she insisted that she had been telling all of her old clients that her prices would be going up and that I would have to pay her new price. Basically she was trying to pull a fast one on a new customer, got caught, and couldn't just own up to it. Secondly, when I had to cancel my appointment due to an emergency and sent her a message asking to reschedule I didn't hear anything back. I had heard from other customers of hers that she "gets moody like that," but this really took the cake. For a girl who is trying to establish herself at a salon and in such a small town like Reno where word certainly gets around about how you treat people, she sure treats prospective customers like she could care less about them. read more
