Rachel is such a positive personality and highly skilled at what she does. I came in for a color correction of black henna AND boxed dyes. She was playful and easy to talk to and also very upfront about cost, time, and expected results (that weren't favorable because of what I'd done #CardinalRule). However, she took her time, she was present through the process, attentive, and still pulled of a result better than either of us were prepared for! I also actually appreciated seeing her consult live with other specialists in the salon. I know some people may feel like that means a person doesnt know what they're doing, but to me it was a strength. It conveyed she really cared to take care of me and not just do a good job but the *right* job. Overall, extremely friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, transparent, communicative, honest and talented. I read the reviews so booked an appointment with Kayla. I was very specific and showed photos - the ONE ask I told her that I needed was to balance my face frame which has subtle highlights. There is some greying on the top near my temples, but when highlights grow out, the middle is darker. I needed her to literally take a FEW hairs and highlight them to cover that spot - seems simple enough. She added the highlights but then decided arbitrarily to darken the middle with a toner, "so it would be blended." I appreciate a conscientious hairdresser but when someone is as specific and as I was, you are going to have an unhappy customer. Especially if you don't ASK first. The base of my roots are medium, not super dark, so highlights always blend naturally when it grows out, if done right. I didn't contact the salon because I didn't think it would be very comfortable having it fixed when everyone will knows that I was unhappy. I'm well aware of the chatter in salons. I walked out almost $400 lighter with the same dark spot in the middle and a nice haircut. read more

I came in same day after going to a different salon the day before, where my hair unfortantley didn't turn out as I expected. I have been going to Jamy for my hair care needs for over a year now. Jamy continues to amaze me with her skill and knowledge. If I have an issue, she works to fix it.
