Before heading to the airport in Anchorage, we stopped by the Peanut Farm for lunch. It was a nice way to end my week-long trip to Alaska. Peanut Farm is a sports grill that has been around for some time. The building has been through a few renovations with some additions to look like what it is today. It resembles a large log cabin. Peanut Farm is spacious and has several TV screens for sports viewing. There are also some pools tables near the bar. We grabbed a table that had a nice view of Campbell Creek through the window. Peanut Farm has a full menu that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a page showcasing their appetizers and pizza selections. I got the Farm's Grilled Chicken with a cup of New England Clam Chowder. I was able to choose a couple of sides and had to try the corn fritters. I highly recommend them. We had a nice time here and it was a great way to wrap up my first trip to Alaska. read more

The Peanut Farm looked interesting as places to check out and eat when I was looking up Anchorage restaurants. The view of the creek is beautiful but don't be fooled. This place was horrible. Our waiter was fine and very apologetic, but we started our night ordering the corn fritters appetizer, chicken wings, and a burger. It is seat yourself anywhere so we sat out on the porch next to the creek but had to wait about 15 minutes before anyone even noticed us. The burger was fine, nothing special, the chicken wings were cold, overcooked, tough, and not very tasty. The corn fritters, the first thing we ordered, an appetizer, didn't even arrive until after we had finished our dinner and were waiting for the check. Then when we got them they were so tough and rubbery that I couldn't even bite through them. And they tasted like burnt oil. I tried to take one bite and failed and they had taken over 40 minutes to get to us that I had the waiter take them off our bill. Yuck. Come for the view but skip the food. read more

Their wings are a 8/10 and the fire fries 10/10 & have never disappointed me. Chili lime is my all time favorite flavor of wings here. My server was lacking, she never refilled our drinks, and was smacking her gum with her mouth open when she greeted us. It really grossed me out. Stopped in on a Monday afternoon with a group before taking off for our Alaska trip. Had some wings and a beer. These were fine and our service was fine. I ordered a Swiss French Dip, cup of clam chowder, and pineapple upside down cake for my husband who is in the hospital and having difficulty eating. I was charged for all 3 items. All I received was a roast beef sandwich _ no au jus and the cake. The manager i spoke to just said tell door dash. The bag was tied and had a recept attached showing all three items. The manager was rude and unprofessional and did not offer to put the missing items in a door dash or cab, he basically just said "too bad." I'd been craving a great BLT and when I went to DoorDash and typed in "BLT" the peanut farm popped up and it looked perfect. WRONG! I couldn't even taste that it WAS a BLT because the bacon was so rubbery and when I tried to chew it up enough to get bread, tomato and lettuce in the bite the bacon was so hard that it scratched up the roof of my mouth to where it cause actual physical pain! And after that major disappointment I thought it got well at least the fire fries will be good!! NOT! They were soggy-like and barely warm when they are supposed to be crispy! I had to separate them from my BLT thing and put them in my air fryer to get them to be crispy again, which it did, but then they were a little burnt! What a disappointment! I'm on my healthy eating journey, while on business trips, and I used to eat breakfast here regularly when I lived in Alaska, now that I'm back for business I decided to try the takeout, and was actually pleasantly impressed, as the veggies still had a bite and was seasoned, and the chicken portions were bigger than expected, the only drawback was the jerk seasoning was just sprinkled on top, I think a longer marinade would have put this over the top, as it was very moist, and grilled very nicely. This place is really cool. It has a much older original side and attached they've added an amazing sports bar. If you wish to come and watch a game, there isn't a bad seat in the house as there are screens everywhere and big ones too!! The bathrooms are clean and the staff is polite and serve you quickly! Wife and I walked in on Father's day, 6pm and it's not busy at all. Sign says seat yourself so we picked our spots at the bar. We looked at the menu thoroughly and decided what drinks and food we wanted. Only problem was, NOBODY interacted with us. Went to check out this place as recommended by a coworker but every time I drive by the parking lot was full. So after my late night shift I went to have a meal & drink in the restaurant grill side. Had an appetizer, corn fritters, and an ice cold local beer! The service was great as I sat and had conversations with the locally raised bartender. The place was not too busy, comfortable enough to stay and have another local brew. The next night I went to the original side of the bar and had an order of wings, onion rings & ice cold beer! The food was good but really expensive. Last weekend we stopped in for food to go. My sister ran in and paid and when i saw the receipt, I was in shock. Sir give of us to eat it was around $120. I order the fish and chips, BERY DISAPPOINTED! In my box was 4 SMALL strips of fish, which i believe was cod. I decided to get the onion rings which were good but fried to hard. The strips itself was shameful. The price they charge for that was outrageous. If they cut a fillet, i believe what we got was 1/4 of said fillet. Other places you get a whole piece or heck even a half piece. I won't go back i can say that now. It's been years since we went but they were close by and the fastest. My nephew said he enjoyed the clam chowder, my little nephew didn't like the chicken strips he said they were to hard. Never knew how spacious it was inside. They have tables by the creek which gives you a really nice view. Good place to watch a game. But probably not very appropriate for kids. There were some people watching a college football game and when the game didn't go as plan, then hit the table so hard their beers all feel over and spilled everywhere. Super loud in there too. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular. I think the pizza was like $20. Definitely not worth it. It was more of a extra large flat bread. Not sure why they call it a pizza. read more

Came here last week for dinner to watch the Warriors game and besides the view my experience here was not great. It's first come first serve seating so quickly found a table outside on their deck overlooking this amazing stream. Then outside of that nothing was great about our experience. First literally took forever to get our drinks and our waitress was so disorganized and complained the whole time. It was seriously off putting to hear her the whole time complaining about it was busy. It got to the point that I went to the bar myself personally and got drink refills for our table and what do you know walla they came out right away with no wait. Then the food is what it is bar food but I have had way better bar food..you can tell everything is not fresh and most tater like it was frozen. So if this place needs a nomination for restaurant impossible there you go. My wings were almost inedible. They were so gummy and not cooked well at all. My buddy's chicken sandwich was so dry he couldn't even eat it and out co-workers blackened halibut was so over cooked absolutely no flavor left to it. We usually eat here/order takeout from here for the wings. It's my partners favorite of anywhere in town. I agree with him, the wings are great. I hadn't branched out and tried much else on the menu and on the time or two I did, I thought the food was fine, not great. A few months ago I had the fish and chips and liked them a lot. Tonight we ordered wings, corn fritters, and farm Cobb salad. Everything was great. I was impressed by the salad. It was huge! Enough for both of us plus leftovers. The veggies were fresh and there was a lot of toppings. I also really liked how the ranch dressing was on the runny side. I hate when I'm trying to evenly coat the salad and it's just clumps of thick dressing. And the ranch was tasty. This makes me hopeful to try more things, maybe a dessert or pizza, but it will for sure always be our go to wing place. read more

The best sports bar in America. The sliders are incredible. The number of TVs and viewing angles is fantastic. They'll put the sound on for big games. The staff is really friendly and easy going. Typical bar food. The plus is they have halibut on the menu which is what you would expect for a Alaskan restaurant. We went for the halibut bites for an app and the halibut entree which came with one side. I got the house salad with honey mustard. That was decent. Tonight I choked down a tasteless cheeseburger with an extremely salty 'roasted vegetable' cup of soup. I thought there was paper on the burger, but it was just the texture of the wilted lettuce. There appeared to be melted cheese, but it had no flavor. This complimented the tasteless meat patty. There was plenty of sliced onion. All tucked inside a dry, slightly stale bun. Between bites I offset the dryness with a warm ( not hot) vegetable soup do inundated with salt it made me pucker with each spoonful. On a brighter note, the waitress was great. Went here after driving by a few times and hearing good things about it. I wouldn't recommend this place. It's beautiful on the outside but the inside is rundown and not very clean. Even the outside patio was junky. There was a tv screen on the table that looked like it hadn't been wiped down since the establishment opened. it's a really nice restaurant nestled in next to a pretty creek with garage type doors that raises to give you an outside dining experience. we ate here last week and everything was 5 stars. The waitress was awesome and perky and the food was good. we took friends to this restaurant tonight and bragged it up real well. overall, the food was ok. The waitress was awful, our sweet potato fries were cold and the coslaw was about the worst I had ever had. we made 3 attempts to get unsweetened tea before the waitress got that right. we had to ask for plates and forks. The men's bathroom was a disaster and everything I touched in the dining area was sticky. I doubt we will go back. read more

The food was very good, I had the halibut and salmon fish combo, the fish was charbroiled and very flavorful. They offered a large number of beers on tap, that were served in cold glasses. Prices were reasonable for quality of food served. The servers were friendly, attentive and we did not have to wait long for our dinner. Being from the New Orleans region , I especially enjoyed the "Saints Room" we did sit outside by the river, it was a comfortable evening and enjoyed watching the river flow by. So just a heads up; I ordered a chicken ranch pizza to be delivered. Peanut Farm handed off someone elses order to my driver. Paid door dash + tip. Called them after I opened it and they said I could pick it up, dispute the charge with DoorDash, or offer me a free pizza. I didn't order delivery to "drive" to pick up my pizza. If you have ever tried to dispute a charge with DoorDash, have fun. If I ever in that area of town to order from them again I am sure they will REALLY remember that they owe me a pizza. Pizza I got is inedible as I have no idea what is on it and it made me sick after the first bite. Worked in the yard all day and HANGRY is not a good look on me. read more
