King St. Hefeweizen

We ate lunch here one day. It being a nice, warm, sunny day, we ate outside. The service was good despite sitting outside; sometimes that's a problem, but not here. They had a decent selection of local beers, but I was surprised they do not make their own. To eat, I had the cowboy burger, which was good. My wife had blackened halibut [fish] tacos, which looked good (she said they were good). Our daughter had a plate of diced chicken with rice and broccoli which was pretty good as well. The food was all good, the decor inside was good, the service was good. I would definitely eat here again. This might be a good alternative to the breweries downtown that have a 90 minute wait if you walk in off the street at dinner time.

I went with low expectations since the parking lot was empty, but wow- we were floored. This place is outstanding. First and foremost its beautiful inside AND they a have outside patio. Thats rare in Anchorage. They have an interesting mix of drinks and American cuisine. I asked for recommendations and the server's thoughts and she didn't steer me wrong. She was beautiful, friendly and bright. I was also happy to see the staff was multi-ethnic. The design of the restaurant is really interesting as well. Most important, the food was delicious, well prepared and the bartender had a very heavy hand. My husband especially loved his hand cut French fries. And the sauce on my fat belly tacos was out if this world. Will definitely revisit this jem on a sunny day to take advantage of the patio. They also have pull tabs if that's your thing.

My Hubbiee n I had date day here and it was delicious. The server we had was on point n knew his thing. The only thing we didnt like was there were lots of flies buzzing around, other then that, the restaurant was clean and lots of food for the amount you pay.

Generous Tacos with Really Great Fries and Onion Rings

The 907 Alehouse in Tikahnu is a nice looking place with a convenient location in NE Anchorage. It is located right near the VA, JBER, High School. There was plenty of parking. The inside is really nice looking with plenty of things to check out. We were seated in a nice clean booth. Our server Jaycie was right there to assist us. She was very nice, knowledgeable and made sure we had everything. She knew all the specials and reminded us it was Taco Tuesday! She brought us our drinks right away and promptly took our order. We took advantage of taco specials and ordered some onion rings and fries. Our food came out pretty fast and it looked and smelled great. The food was good but we felt the tacos were a a little dry and we wished they had put some more ingredients and or sauces available. Jaycie checked on us a couple times to make sure we were getting and enjoying everything. They had some nice easy going music in the background. They have a nice looking well equipped bar area too with easy to see the TV's in several areas.

Yak burger anyone??? I was in beautiful Anchorage and…read morewanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter! I didn't get his name but he was so kind and the service was excellent!

I calculated our meal cost before paying and it was around $5 higher on the bill presented than what it was listed on the menu. I also was paying cash so it shouldn't have been any kind of extra card fee. I have reached out to the company, but no response yet. Depending on their response will depend on if I'm a returning customer

But the macaroni salad...weird? Or am I missing something? It tasted like run of the meal, store bought macaroni salad. Is it for the non fermenters? Cause that ain't me! Those fermented side dishes were the stars, until the bibimbap came out. The clay pot was more a large plate, but it was HOT and it made the rice exactly like I like it: crispy on the bottom and soft on the top. All the accoutrements were tasty and blended well with the rice and sauce. I wasn't sure what each of them were, so I tried a little bit at a time. They all had some unique savory flavors. In the end I mixed them all together for a final flash and bang of flavor. Service was excellent. Maybe the owner, maybe the manager was also seated at the bar and he stopped by at the end of my meal to ask about everything. Friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean and has great lighting. When one walks in, the bbq side is to the right and there is a bar area to the left. There is both tables and bar seating.

Peanut Farm is a sports grill that has been around for some time. The building has been through a number of additions and renovations to look like what it is today. It resembles a large log cabin. Peanut Farm has a full menu that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a page showcasing their appetizers and pizza selections.
