Tried this restaurant for lunch because it is close to work and it serve country food so I was thinking it won't be hard to mess up. They have a to go kitchen up front. And dine in has a cafeteria style line. So many entree options, ribs, meatloaf, fried chicken , pig tails ....I didn't see any chicken dumplings though. Food doesn't taste bad but not the best country food I had either. Food taste kinda bland, but they give you huge portions, $11 your box is full. Depends how sensitive your stomach is, pick the entree and sides that more lean otherwise you might get bloated like me . Old Ryan buffet is better to me, as a comparison. Their breakfast option is probably better than lunch from the looks of it. read more

We were driving around Greenville and stopped to eat lunch at this cafe. My husband can I had meatloaf.. with different sides, but it was all delicious! Thank you for warming our tummy's and hearts. read more

Good old southern cooking. The banana pudding was warm and off the hook! Home fries were battered and very yummy. The beef steak in brown gravy was yummy though a little tough. Service was quick for breakfast. Can't wait to try lunch as well. They are known for their cheese biscuits which is made with lard. So I passed. read more

I went there today with my brother and the the food was outstanding! It was definitely homemade southern cooking made by scratch! I had chicken pastry, green beans, macaroni and cheese and fresh biscuits. Others in my party had fried chicken, Lima beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn bread, banana pudding, meat loaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn bread, 2 sweet teas and a water for lunch! The portions were HUGE and each plate was enough for 2 people! The customer service was fantastic as well. Look forward to coming back next time we are in town! read more

Love Peadens breakfast. Over the years have been a fairly frequent customer. Love anything on a biscuit. But unfortunately, it's starting to go downhill. On Friday I pulled up to the drive in line. There were several cars waiting. After 5 minutes, finally pulled up to speaker stand and waited. After a few more minutes a cashier said due to technical difficulties the drive up line was closed and I would have to go inside. Are you kidding me? A just ok place. We came here for a quick bite during a business trip. It's pretty quick lunch, but the quality is just a OK. I expected something better from a soul food place . I literally just left Peaden's Grill and the manager Justin was really rude, cold and aloof. I bought Mac and cheese yesterday and today it was runny. I simply asked if the same person made it from yesterday. The young lady at the register was polite and told me she would call him over to look at it. When he walked over to look at it he said, " Don't buy it then." It's a way to speak to customers and being rude is not the way to do that. He mumbled something under his breath. I'm not use to people being extremely rude from me asking a question. Bad news always spread before good news. People in management positions are hired to increase customer satisfaction. When the management team is rude it looks bad on the entire company. I use to manage several restaurants before going into the medical feel and customer service and customer satisfaction was top tier for management and my team members. One part of an organization's foundation not being solid based on the principles and mission of the company can cause the entire foundation to collapse. Rudeness and sarcasm should never be coming from management. Although there are miserable people in the world they should never bring that type of negative energy to work. read more

Country cooking, that's what you'll get. Don't expect to be served dinner on fine china or even plates. Well, plates yes, but styrofoam plates. I had oysters and shrimp with a side salad and baked potato. Nothing fancy, but certainly tasty. My dinner was $15. Fair price for good food. read more

The best breakfast I have had hands down! The sausage gravy is no joke on top of an excellent southern scratch made biscuit. The home fries were deep fried but in no way greasy. Flaky hot and delicious. How am I just finding this place?! Don't leave without trying the sweet potato biscuit and grabbing a cup of banana pudding that will make you slap your grandma. This place is close to my work, so it's a good lunch place for me. They have a hotdog and hamburger grill on one side and country kitchen lunch line on the other side. Nasty sanitation grade of 90. I ordered three things and only two were in the bag and out of the two that were in the bag one of them was wrong. When I took it back inside she didn't even get the first one and was so confused....all I had was a biscuit and two sandwiches. It's been like this for 6 months with me and my husband every time we go there, so we won't be going back and we won't tell people to go there either. The only thing that was in there that was right was the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and the egg wasn't even on the sandwich in between the bread it was underneath the sandwich and somehow they're not getting paid enough for this? Possibly Peadens is the place I eat at the most in Greenville. Breakfast is bar none the best in town during the week. Biscuits as big as your face and gravy that'll make your grandmamma blush. The sausage biscuit is fantastic. The best choice of course is the chicken-egg-and cheese biscuit. It's massive. It'll keep you full all morning. read more

Recently stopped there while on a road trip. I had visited there several times before. Was told by my brother that Peadens Grill was the go to place for breakfast and the best collards. My husband got the fresh sausage and egg breakfast and he said it was good. The collards, lima beans and black eye peas I ordered was overpowered with grease, fat and meat. The collards was very salty as well. I think the waitress who came to our table knew I was not happy. On top of that I ordered 2 quarts of collards to go to share with family. What a waste of money! There is little or nothing on the menu for a vegan or vegetarians. Several people were standing around grumbling about the wait. Some of the staff need customer service training and the someone need look at the prep of the food being consistent, offering some healthy options, etc. Soul food does not have to be loaded with grease and fat. That in itself will likely keep me from returning. read more
