Logan's diner

We found this place by Yelp and were delighted. Just a good old fashioned diner where a lot of locals go to eat They have booths and the counter to eat at. You can watch your food being cooked and it was delicious. We each had omelettes and he had hash browns and I had potatoes. Pancakes were huge and looked great. If you are looking for a great basic breakfast place. Look no further A great stop and Emporia is a beautiful town.

Small town diner with booths and counter seating.

Small town luncheonette and apparantly a local favorite. It has about 6 booths and a long counter with about 15 seats which faces the grill. It is "quaint" and fits well into the towns appearance. The staff were very friendly and service was quick. The food was good. Nothing special but good. The prices were cheap comparatively to our home prices. BLT with chips and a club sandwich with chips and two coffees was $15.00. This was not a spot to go out of your way for. But if you are in downtown Emporia and like trying out little local places like we do, it's worth a stop.

Hamburger steak special with 2 sides

Wow! What a terrific piece of old school Americana. Located right on Main St., this diner is comfort food heaven! Clean and everyone is super friendly. The awesome waitress recommended the hamburger steak special (with 2 sides and a roll) and she was right on the mark. The yummy onion gravy and moist patty reminded me of dinners growing up. So did the butter beans which melted in my mouth and were cooked with just the right amount of ham. Unfortunately, the Mac n Cheese also reminded me of my Mom's - bland. It was obviously reheated in the microwave and had some cold spots. That's the only reason I gave this place 4 stars. Hubby had the ribeye sandwich and loved it. Not too thick, not too thin and flavorful. He said it was so good he could eat another one! Great little stop off 58/95. We'll definitely be back when we pass through again, but next time I'll choose the mashed potatoes!

Fried pork chop, country ham, scrambled eggs and home fries.

This place was an awesome find! Everyone knew each other and brought back memories of a little diner I used to visit in Georgia. Everything we ate was delicious, excise the picture, started digging in before we could snap a couple shots. Will be stopping by again when we pass through.

Unclean, salad appeared to have been sitting in cooler, not fresh. Not consistent with meat cooked as requested.

Great food. The staff is always friendly but a better break down of the tables is needed .

As we arrived, we were seated, served our requested beverages and we're given the specials. I ordered the chicken pot pie that was on special, and my niece got the brisket burger and a side of fries (they come separate) The waitress said they were known for their brisket so that was a selling point. She also noted that they have a fry guy dedicated to prepping fresh cut fries to order. The fries were worth the hype, fresh crispy and paired wonderfully with some classic ketchup. The brisket burger was good, with a sweet BBQ sauce, it was just a bit shy from being too sweet so if you like a sweet BBQ I'd recommend this burger. For the chicken pot pie, the crust was delicious, soft and fluffy but I was not a fan of the filling which tasted tangy and didn't have much chicken inside. I later mentioned that it would be good if they put brisket and veggies in the pie crust for a different dish or like a pot roast situation. The waitress said she liked my idea and would pass it along. For dessert specials they had key lime, coconut cream and peanut butter pie. I wouldn't normally order or care to eat a coconut cream pie, but the waitress noted it as her favorite and I had a good feeling about it. The pie was indeed delicious. I loved the graham cracker crust which you could tell was homemade, the firm base with the fluffy cream top adorned with toasted coconut it was delightful. My niece is not a coconut person and said she enjoyed it as well. Overall, this a was a kind charming place to stop by on our road trip. The waitress was kind as well as the few folks that stopped in while we were there.

I saw a teacher at my job enjoying a hot bowl of soup and a huge grilled cheese sandwich and I had to have one. I left during my lunch break to find the best hole in the wall ever. My first trip I had the soup and sandwich. The soups was full of chicken and piping hot, just the right seasoning and a perfect consistency. The grilled cheese was nice and thick and perfectly grilled. My next visit I had the baked spaghetti. Oh my I wanted more! It was cheesy, not too sugary and mouth watering. I then had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and cabbage. The meatloaf was perfectly seasoned, I opted for the gravy on the side. Next, I tried the smothered pork chop. The chops were juicy and well cooked. The gravy was awesome. I also had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was juicy and flavorful. I also tried their chicken n dumplin! Pretty good. Lastly, the sweet tea was sweet and refreshing! Please support the small family run business!!!!
