Stopped for breakfast just after 9 am. Left at 10:30. So SLOW! Waitress was pleasant and Professional. But not enough staff. Food typical, processed, unhealthy breakfast fare. Velveta cheese, fried everything, canned fruit. My daughter ordered waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Whipped crime was sweet marshmallow fluff. Canned strawberries in thick syrup. I got a veggie omelet. Canned mushrooms, and I don't think they were real eggs.

The waitress never greeted us or smiled. The bun on my cheeseburger was stale. Probably will not be back.

What better than to be surrounded by quotes and eat great food. Such a novel idea (pun intended)…read morefor a restaurant. The entire place has quotes posted all over. My obsession with quotes started in high school where I would scribble them all over my notebooks and folders. So in honor of my bday weekend, my inner teen got a gift too. Additionally there are cute cards on the table with riddles/ conversation starters and court cases that the table can discuss and try and guess the ruling. The food. Admittedly, we came here for the quotes and the apple nachos so I can't speak much to the food other than we split some fried ravioli, a rack of ribs and a side of mac & cheese that were absolutely delightful. As for those apple nachos, they almost hit the perfect mark and could've done so with a drizzle of caramel. Our waiter was eager to accommodate us and grab us some caramel, but we told him never mind just a suggestion to the Chef. The ribs were cooked perfectly fall off the bone with not too much sauce and that mac & cheese was divine. Service was on point, food delicious, and ambience - perfection. Highly recommend, especially if you're vacationing in Williamsburg it is a unique treat that you won't find anywhere else.

Our server , Eric, was super friendly and helpful with the menu. Food came out really fast. Stuffed mushrooms were the bomb. Not only was the ribs delicious but the meat fell off the bone. The crab grilled cheese sandwich was awesome. The shrimp chowder was okay. What turned this review from 4 to 5 was the bread pudding. To die for. Right amount of sweetness and topped with ice cream. The beer flight of local beers was fun.

I saw a teacher at my job enjoying a hot bowl of soup and a huge grilled cheese sandwich and I had to have one. I left during my lunch break to find the best hole in the wall ever. My first trip I had the soup and sandwich. The soups was full of chicken and piping hot, just the right seasoning and a perfect consistency. The grilled cheese was nice and thick and perfectly grilled. My next visit I had the baked spaghetti. Oh my I wanted more! It was cheesy, not too sugary and mouth watering. I then had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and cabbage. The meatloaf was perfectly seasoned, I opted for the gravy on the side. Next, I tried the smothered pork chop. The chops were juicy and well cooked. The gravy was awesome. I also had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was juicy and flavorful. I also tried their chicken n dumplin! Pretty good. Lastly, the sweet tea was sweet and refreshing! Please support the small family run business!!!!

I've had the hotdogs and burgers here too and they are worth the trip! The prices are phenomenal! This is no greasy spoon, as the pops sign says... this is good eatin' and great service!! We got a special treat because Patsy, who was the previous owners sister, now owned by her niece, came by every table and said hello. She was cute as a button! Service here is quick and friendly with the Southern hospitality you'd expect. I ordered two hot dogs, one with chili, slaw, and mustard and one with chili and cheese. CDI is one of those funky joints that puts the cheese of the chili cheese dog under chili. Does it matter? Probably not...but also...maybe? On the way out, the cakes on the counter were calling my name. I got a slice of yellow cake with chocolate icing and ate it that night in my hotel. Delightful! I'd definitely return to Community Drive-In and sample some of their other menu items.
