I was visiting a friend in Emporia, VA for several days over the [2021] Easter weekend and took all my meals at the Huddle House within a 5 minute walk of my hotel. Unfailingly fabulous each time - from the staff to the quality (and prices) of the food, I recommend that restaurant to everyone without reservation. I must add that I found the most *divine* menu item to be the Southern Smothered Biscuit Platter with Country Sausage. AMAZING. Only one small disappointment: due no doubt to the current pandemic, Huddle House closed at 8 p.m. That's nothing but a reflection on the establishment's keen sense of responsibility. 5 stars! read more

Four stars because it's in Emporia so expectations are low. While the breakfast in generally good for a truckstop/diner, the service is spotty. Always friendly but they are frequently under staffed and not very experienced. I believe they have a new supervisor/head server and she is working to turn things around. The MVP breakfast is large and cheap. They charge extra for raison bread toast but worth it since I like raison bread and few places serve it. Worst service food not the greatest. 20 minutes for cheese sticks app 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches. The servers pick and choose who they want to wait on. Sat for10 minutes before server came to table. But noticed 2 women that came in after us had been waited on and was eating before we even got our app. They had more people working than customers. read more

My bacon egg sandwich and cheese is normally delicious but this time on July 10-2019 was horrible very greasy especially the bread and the bread was burnt. I will try next time if it's not good next time I will discontinue to go here. read more

Driving from North Carolina to New York and hungry, this convenient gas station spot Huddle House was a welcome sight. The best bacon and cheese omelet we've ever had. Crispy hash browns and a buttery biscuit made this "cheat day" totally worth it! Thanks to Tamika for serving it up quick and getting us back on the road to home. read more

I'm only giving this a 1 star review because me and my wife have been there before and had great service but today as of July 30th 2019. We had decided to leave our home to travel to this establishment and dine there. We arrived there and sat in out normal booth. The waitresses both looked over us and didnt come to our table. We sat there for 15 mins waiting to be waited on but the severs didnt come. They werent busy at all. One girl went to the table behind us and the table in front and completely ignored us. read more

Stopped for breakfast just after 9 am. Left at 10:30. So SLOW! Waitress was pleasant and Professional. But not enough staff. Food typical, processed, unhealthy breakfast fare. Velveta cheese, fried everything, canned fruit. My daughter ordered waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Whipped crime was sweet marshmallow fluff. Canned strawberries in thick syrup. I got a veggie omelet. Canned mushrooms, and I don't think they were real eggs. read more

Eh, this place was dirty and not well kept. The workers were friendly however. With their food, I would say it's below average. Its like going to a KFC except your food is made to order and they serve breakfast all day long. So basically, it's like a mixture of a fast food chain and a diner. Food was okay, had chicken fried chicken which was the special on Thursday with fried okra and a baked potato I enjoyed, it but as I was sitting there I was watching one of the other waitresses playing the claw game I, thought this was pretty rude. I'm glad she wasn't my waitress, I can't imagine what the other two tables, that she was waiting on, we're thinking! On the other hand my waitress was real good. read more

An average review for what I'd call a pretty average spot. You get what you pay for, and you're not paying too much for a big plate of greasy, salty diner food at any hour of the day. We were here during lunch and it was not busy at all. Service wasn't super quick, but our waiter was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. The burgers were dry, the lettuce was questionable, and the mashed potatoes were undoubtedly from powder. But if you expect farm-fresh salad from an I-95 truck stop, it isn't their fault for not living up to unrealistic expectations. read more

I enjoy Huddle House often. They have great steaks, breakfasts and desserts. Wait staff are pleasant and keep on their toes. Huddle House has always been clean no matter what time of day I visit. I would like to add that they give back to the community and work with students especially around the holidays to bring something special. read more

Great service my Robin! Great place to stop on I-95 in Virginia. Menu has large selection to pick from.

Would not recommend. Drive further to another one or find an IHOP. We came here at 1230 am to grab something quick to eat and instantly got a bad feeling. Ate at a dirty table and waited 45 mins for a few plates of already made food. Bacon was a 15 minute wait and burnt. While we were eating we noticed people having trouble leaving, because the waitress locked both doors so you couldn't get out. We went to use the bathroom at the 24 hours travel center to find a "maintenance" man cleaning the bathrooms although he had no company on his uniform and no cleaning supplies. We tried to get back in to finish paying, but wasnt let in. There was about twelve people waiting outside mad and huddled up talking about the waitress. When our parents finally came out, we found out that the waitress had said, "you'll get your d*** food when I serve it to you" to a customer. This started a fight and the police had to be called. Overall horrible experience that I would not want any late night drivers to experience. read more
