Can we talk Repeated Good Food!! I've never been and had a bad experience. It's Always Hot and Fresh! The decor inside is just like the small county it resides in....Old Fashioned but just right. This is a buffet which included: Collards, Cabbage, Yams, Mac n Cheese, Fried Chicken, Shrimp, Fish, and Baked Chicken. Desserts: Good ol' Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding and more to offer. We didn't have a wait...waitress was more than accommodating!! Also the lemonade / tea combo is a must try!! Thank You Rouse's for your continued great service and heart filled food.

Fantastic restaurant, superb service and delicious food just about sums up this restaurant. It's in "log home" type building. This I like because it gives a country feel to it. Menu items selection from buffet: Fried chicken, hamburger steak with brown gravy, green peas, corn, black eyed peas, dumplings and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious as I really enjoyed my meal. Customer service: I called them on phone to see if they were open on Sunday. They said yes they are open and I decided eat here. I was glad I did. I was talked into their buffet. I initially was going to just get a cheeseburger with fries and a coke. But they said that they only have the buffet on Sundays. Anyway, my waitress really took care of me while I was here. She kept my drink full at all times too. Missed Opportunities: They do have burgers which it looks great on their website. I will come back and get this another day. Features: They have an old antique tractor in here. They do have a TV in here. The TV had The Andy Griffith Show on. Local Stories: The waitress told me that Andy Griffith was a teacher at Goldsboro High School in Goldsboro, NC which is only 17 miles from here. She said he taught Music, English and Drama before he became a famous Actor. Now that is really a great accomplishment. Thus, they play The Andy Griffith Show on their TV.

I was hungry when I arrived and more than satisfied when I left. Fried chicken was just like home made so was the peach cobbler. Great food.

I was impressed with their meal offering, selection and quality throughout - Skyline's service was attentive and warm - despite my wife bringing an issue to her that lacked clear communication. Later Neets spoke with the Head Server who assisted the situation and they "went good" on things. "It's nice to know that Kings stands-behind their food and their staff! EVERYONE CAN MAKE A MISTAKE - We will be back and Neets may order something different from her "go-to" faire. FYI : King's dining room looks just like it did when my wife worked there some 30 years ago! A Kinston Landmark! Bon appetite

Kings is a very comfortable establishment. Everyone seemed like they had been doing the same things…read morethe same ways for a long time. The restaurant itself felt comfortable as well: the table tops were worn, the small booths felt worn, the decorative metal siding was oxidized, and even the plates and silverware seemed worn. This comfortable atmosphere also persisted with our meals. I tried the beef tips and they were OK after I added a pinch of salt. The portion was adequate but not especially generous. Likewise, my yams were not very sweet and served in an unusually dark sauce. The brunswick stew, which I paid an extra $1 for, had a strong smoky BBQ flavor but oddly had peas in it. While my sides were not very good, it just felt like they were the prepared the same way they had been prepared for many years. My dining companion enjoyed her grilled pork chop, noting that it was clearly cooked to order, but thought her string bean side was really mushy, seasoned poorly, and just not good. The basket of hush puppies was a complete and utter failure: cold, undercooked, greasy and flavorless. blah. Our server clearly enjoyed being comfortable too. Unfortunately, we needed refills on our beverages and the extra effort impacted her comfortableness. So sorry, not sorry. Kings seems like the sort of restaurant that meanders along until one day they realize they lost the qualities that made them successful in the first place years ago and they drift away into oblivion. There's a cost to being comfortable. Not recommended.

I was surprised when it came, because I was not expecting a chunk of brisket that thick! The portions are good!!! It's a dark restaurant, not well lit, but I honestly don't mind that kind of vibe. Made it more chill. The service was not the fastest, but it didn't ruin the dinner at all. If I'm ever back in the area, I would come back to this spot.

LouReda's....it is the place you might pass by anytime you are in Rocky Mount. It is a small place…read moreas you find a place to go. But stop and step inside and it is bigger than you imagine. It is not fancy, but once you try something it is different. This is American Cooking but with a style that is special. See what awaits. When we went in I had worked up at the Rocky Point Markets for furniture both in the spring and the fall of each year. It was always filled with folks from everywhere to shop, and see and buy for the next season. There were plenty of places to have lunch. But when dinner came it was special. The local style of cooking was different. It might have the same meal as you would find in another region, but here it was different as it is based on the cook / chef. Tonight we stopped in and the person helping us was very special. She told us of what was available and what was not. She gave the details and let us order. First we had to have an Arnold Palmer. Naturally, it was different than the person down the block. This was not sweet as usually. It was an equal mike and perfect to have. It gave us something to think about. First up was the Mac & Cheese. But unlike normal Mac & Cheese, with this we ordered shrimp. Not what you expect, this was unique. The Mac & Cheese was a combination of fresh pasta and mixed with four different types of cheese. It was mixed together with a cream and butter. It was not a firm mix but a mix that was moist and tasty with each bit you took. That alone was a meal unto itself. Being mixed with shrimp was different. The shrimp where not small. They were a good size. And there was almost a dozen mixed in. They were not placed onto. Being mixed in they aded to the flavor and taste. There was no spices. Just fresh shrimp with pasta and a cheese mix. A dip of bread helped to take it all in. Next we did have Baby Back Ribs. These were very fresh and tasty. Cooked to the right point hthey literally fell off the bone itself with the touch of a fork. The taste was slightly mixed with honey. Sweet but spicy. Naturally had to have some home made coleslaw with this. Plus an order of sweet potato fries. And these were fresh. Alone with a drink these would have been a good snack to have together. I could have had another plate of these alone. The two dishes were perfect. Yet, we did need to have dessert when the couple at the next table ordered it and shared it. This was Bread Pudding, topped with vanilla ice cream and served with Bourbon sauce. This was heaven itself. You did not need more. There people could have shared this one item. Again, it was freshly made and warm. Ideal. The ice cream was made that morning. And, as for the bourbon, you could have had a glass of this. Spread over the bread pudding it was how we sometime drink an Irish Coffee. Had to have that taste with each bite. Overall, this was a special place to for a meal. It was truly unique for the region and for the chef. The team was a great help. The price was great. As for the people who were there, it was packed. Many came from the places where they are creating the new furniture and items that will be on display for the next market in Rocky Point for next spring. They knew where the place is and what to order. It is truly the right spot for a good meal. It is worth the visit next time I am in town.

The Farmer and The Dail came highly recommended for their delicious baked goods and southern breakfast. My family lives in the area and gave the 2 thumbs up. We decided on the FATD breakfast bowl that comes with hash browns, a biscuit, grits and bacon. I have been wanting to try their famous biscuit bombs. I decided on the bacon bomb. I have never had a biscuit so pillowy soft and delicious! This place is perfection ! My mom's birthday cake was also equally as delicious. She enjoyed how light and airy the cake was, how decadent the frosting was. How beautifully decorated ! We will be regulars here when in the area visiting loved ones. There were so many baked goods on display that all looked amazing and their regular menu looks super promising.
