    Chocolate muffin- it was divine

If you're looking for an amazing breakfast and bakery experience, this is the place to go! Everything is fresh, homemade, and absolutely worth it. Some might think the prices are a bit high, but trust me, the quality more than justifies it. I loved everything I tried. My family was visiting from the Hudson Valley in NY, where we're used to incredible farm-to-table options, and this place holds its own. It's a gem to find a spot like this out here. As for the bakery items, I've had their chocolate muffins, cinnamon rolls, and pumpkin bread--all incredible. The flavors are rich, and you can taste the care and quality in every bite. The service is just as impressive as the food. The staff is respectful, friendly, and eager to help with any questions. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. One tip: if you're planning to have breakfast, I recommend calling ahead to check the wait time and put yourself on the list. When we went, we had to wait about an hour to be seated. Honestly, we didn't mind because they have an attached store to explore while you wait. The experience and the food were totally worth it! This place is a must-visit. Highly recommend it! The ambience is very relaxing.

    Yoder's Yummy Cinnamon Rolls...Oh My!

Our weekend adventure took us to Yoder's for lunch which is a not so secret gem of Grifton. Unless you want to wait 2hrs for a table or an hour for a to-go order on a Saturday, I'd recommend calling in your order ahead of time for pick up. On Saturdays, their menu is limited to breakfast food only. During the week, they do have a lunch menu with salads, sandwiches and wraps. While you wait for your food, you can shop in their rustic garden store. After that, you can relax in one of their gliders or rockers. In March, it's also entertaining to watch the purple martins building their nests. Finally time to eat, their buttermilk biscuits are moist, fluffy and delicious! If you have a sweet tooth...let's face it, we all have one...their bakery counter won't disappoint! Factoring in your drive time plus the wait time, downtown New Bern has several great hardy breakfast alternatives. But if you want a day trip adventure like we did, then Yoder's is worth the drive!

This place has the best breakfast in or near Greenville, hands down. I came here for the first time with my best friend after reading the rave reviews and hearing the buzz about them from locals. We were still in quarantine and decided to treat ourselves to a nice Saturday afternoon brunch. The drive is about 30 minutes from Greenville but let me be clear and say it is MORE than worth it. When we arrived, we walked into the foyer, which, as the name implies, is a pantry filled with Pennsylvania Dutch goodies. When you round the corner, the space opens up into a restaurant seating area, coffee bar, and bakery. We wanted to eat outside and were told that there was no wait service outside, BUT we could order to-go and enjoy our meal out there. That's what we did. The sweet young lady at the takeout station recommended the french toast, bacon, and homefries. I am not a french toast person, but I figured I'd follow her recommendation given her confidence in the suggestions. We both ordered the 2-piece french toast. I ordered mine with turkey sausage, and homefries with coffee and my bestie ordered hers with turkey bacon and hashbrowns and orange juice. We both ordered cinnamon rolls from the bakery counter when we paid for our order. In less than 15 minutes, our order was out. We picked a comfy outdoor seat and went to town. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is some of the best french toast I've ever had. Perfectly fluffy and made better by their signature butter syrup, which has an almost caramel-like flavor. The home fries were perfectly crispy and so well seasoned. The turkey sausage was juicy but nothing spectacular (She DID recommend the bacon after all.) Their coffee is amazing as well. The portion size is more than enough and an amazing value for the price. I dove into my cinnamon roll for a snack later, and it's one of the most amazing cinnamon rolls I've had in my life. The key to Yoder's quality food is quality ingredients. You can taste the freshness in every one of their menu items. Nothing is shortcutted. Everything is made fresh, right down to the bread for the french toast. I have been back to Yoder's two more times since my initial visit. My regular order is now: French toast, bacon, home fries, and coffee with a cinnamon roll to-go. I also love that they have tons of fresh bakery items, treats, meals-to-go, and specialty and pantry items to take with you. What makes it even better is that it is connected to a garden shop that sells plants, outdoor furniture, and much more. I highly recommend making the trek to Yoder's for the quality breakfast experience. It will not disappoint. TIP: Check the hours on their website before you come to make sure they are serving breakfast.

Cinnamon roll French toast, Dutch potato casserole

Being a Yoder, May or may not be biased.... Drove 30 minutes for breakfast BUT totally worth it!!!!! Cinnamon french toast is a must as well as the Dutch potato casserole. Best breakfast I have had in a while. Will be going back for sure.

Eggs, bacon, home potatoes & sour dough toast; home fries were so delicious..

Title: A Contender for the Crown: Mom's Grill is a Must-Try!…read moreRating: Living in Washington, you learn pretty quickly that we take our burgers seriously. After my latest visit to Mom's Grill, I can confidently say the local leaderboard has been shaken up! I ordered the Original Cheeseburger "All the Way" (chili, onions, and mustard), and it was an absolute knockout. Here is the breakdown: The Burger Breakdown * The Patty: The first thing you'll notice is the size. The beef portion here is substantial--it's noticeably larger and heartier than the patties at Dairy Palace or King Chicken. * The Build: They've mastered the "Meat-to-Bun" ratio. Even with the chili and mustard, the bun holds up, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. It's a messy, delicious, classic NC burger. * The Verdict: This is easily the best burger I've had in a long time. It's simple, nostalgic, and incredibly satisfying. My Official Washington, NC Burger Rankings: * La Vaquita Mexican Grill: Still the reigning champ. These are the "supermodels" of burgers--huge, juicy, and incredibly photogenic. * Mom's Grill: A very close runner-up. If you want that classic, hometown cheeseburger flavor with a superior meat portion, this is the spot. * King Chicken: The perfect "hand-sized" burger. It's a total throwback to the old-school drive-in days. * Dairy Palace: A timeless local staple. It's a great burger, though I personally think both DP and King Chicken could reach that next level if they upgraded their beef patties to match the quality of Mom's or La Vaquita. Pro Tip: If you're a fan of a heavy meat portion and classic toppings, don't sleep on Mom's Grill. It's officially in my Top 5! All the tables were full of friend and family groups playing board games and enjoying various flatbreads and libations. Seems like the kind of place the local neighborhoods enjoy and spend quite a bit of time at. At the moment, can't remember the names of the cocktails we got, its been a few months. But I do remember the toasts. This place doesnt have a kitchen in a traditional sense, more like a prep area where they bring ingredients together (that I imagine are made off site) and toast it up to present you with some pretty unique combos and flavors. Honestly, a great way around some of the health code restrictions that start to apply to more in-depth operations while still having a robust menu. We ordered a variety for the 4 of us, as this was dinner that evening. Gettin Figgy with it was a favorite, as were the Pig and the Goat, and the Reuben. Their version of a Cubano was alright, but as could be the case you'd imagine, the pork was a little dry. The caprese was the only one we got that seemed to be a universal thumbs down, the avocado spread wasn't working with the other ingredients.
