Confetti pancakes!

This place is SO good. Cocktails, apps, dinner all were amazing. Great atmosphere too. Appreciate them being open later in to the evening as well!!

Was in Greenville for work and a friend I was meeting for lunch recommended this place, and what a treat. I shared the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken with my friend, it was excellent, the buffalo sauce mixed well with the cheese. I got he French onion soup and the jedd's lettuces. The French onions soup was excellent, perfectly meltecu cheese, deep onion flavor, really well made. The Jedd's lettuces was also executed well, the fried goat cheese was nice and then greens were perfectly light. My buddy got the smash burger, and said it was really good. Service was great, always polite and on time. Nice old building feel with some good touches to adapt. The bathroom doors blended right into the molding, it's a very cool space.

We came in the later part of lunch service. We had the mushroom skewer. My wife had the smash burger with side salad/house vinaigrette. I had the okonomiyaki pancake with shrimp. We finished our meal with custard tart. It was so delicious. Very casual atmosphere. Wish we didn't have to drive home. Drink menu was intriguing.

Loved everything about my visit. The ambiance was just what I wanted for my birthday dinner. Food and staff were great as well. Will definitely return in the future.

OUR burger with truffle fries

This was my first time at Native for dinner. I had the OUR Burger and truffle fries. It was super filling and satisfying. I also appreciated our waitress being attentive and accommodating for allergies at our table. The restaurant is much bigger than what you'd expect when you come inside, with decor thats fun to look at, clean, and a little rustic. Definitely worth a visit

We went with a few friends and it was a much better experience this time. Everyone loved their food and our waitress was super friendly. I got the smash burger. My husband got the tuna which was the catch of the day. I'm glad we went back again after my negative experience last time. The chicken spetzel and the beef with potato got rave reviews from my friends not to mention the unique spiced carrots and pickled peaches for appetizer!

My husband and I noticed this place as soon as we moved to Greenville, but for one reason or another, it took us over a year to finally visit--and we're so glad we did! The service was amazing. Alexis took care of us and was incredibly kind and respectful. She's an absolute sweetheart! We started with the pork belly appetizer, which was packed with flavor. For our entrées, we had the NC steak and the chicken schnitzel--both were cooked perfectly, and the sauces and flavors complimented each other beautifully. Everything came out with great timing, and you could tell real care went into both the food and the service. We'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu!

The ribs had a smoky note, potatoes smooth, salad crisp. Overall decent but ordinary, a fair three-star review.

Summer Heirloom Tomatoes
Andrea W.

The ambiance and decor of this diner was as tasteful as their food. We got the beef pastrami with the truffle fries and the summer heirloom tomatoes. Both dishes were very delicious. The sandwich was a generous serving that could be split between two people. The small plate of tomatoes was very refreshing and beautifully balanced along side the panna cotta. Our server was also very welcoming and friendly.

The food was so yummy! The fries were perfect not too thick not too thin and crunchy. The vibe was chic but retro love this place!

Y'all, why has it been so long since I've eaten here? I've been wanting fried chicken (yeah, I…read morecould cook it, but so much work), and then my daughter made herself a waffle the other night...........so I HAD to go. We got there around noon, and it was popping. I mean, it's a Wednesday and very busy, but no wait. We each got the chicken and waffles. My daughter had asked if they would give her regular butter, since she's not a fan of strawberries.............but she enjoyed the strawberry butter very much. I'm sure we could have split it, but nope, we each got it. Half a chicken, cut into the individual pieces, and that huge, fluffy, flavorful waffle with that nice scoop of strawberry butter. We brought our limited leftovers home, yes, we mostly ate our food. For a place with a pretty extensive, but not huge, menu, it is good. The chicken and waffles though are awesome. Our server was Jonny, and he was fast, efficient and pleasant. We hope to visit again soon, very soon.

The Metro Diner is always busy, so I did expect a little bit of a wait. I was told 20-25 minutes…read moreand waited that long outside. Then, I moved inside to see what the delay was, and the host tried to seat me at the counter. Really? I'd been waiting 30 minutes, and you won't seat me at the empty table. So I declined and said I'd wait for my table. I never got a notice on my phone either, so what was the point of that system if you need to be inside the small waiting area to be called? I could see the open table, but I was not seated for another ten minutes. They didn't want me at the big table. Then it was interesting to watch all the staff walk by and ask who had my table. How do they not know which tables each person has? Someone eventually came by, asked if I'd been helped, and took my drink and food orders, since I'd been waiting quite a while. I ordered a half-and-half tea. I'm not sure she knew what that was, as she kept saying "unsweet". The first tea was half-and-half, but the refill was unsweetened. I went with the chicken pot pie, as that is what caught my eye. I expected a delicious dish, but what I received was disappointing. The ratio of the chicken, gravy and veggies was way off. I'd say there was enough low-quality processed chicken for three to four people, a little gravy and even less veggies. I had a bowl of processed chicken cubes with a splash of sauce, not what I had in mind. I usually skip the pastry part, but I ate that as I needed something other than chicken. I left some of the chicken in the dish. The waitress didn't even offer me a to-go box. It was that bad that I wouldn't eat it anyway. My check was brought out soon after I got my food. I don't understand the rush, but bringing the check early won't get me out any faster and lowers your tip. This was just a really bad experience, and I don't see myself returning. I have liked the food in the past.

I got two pieces of French toast, bacon, a cheese biscuit, a pancake, a side of cheese grits and hashbrowns for less than $20 before tax. The French toast was good and favorable. The pancake was a nice size and good. Needed a bit of butter and syrup but that's to be expected. The cheese biscuit was the best cheese biscuit I ever had. It was soft, tasty and buttery. The grits were a bit plain but with some extra salt and butter were very good. They have two types of hashbrowns. One is soft and made with onions (homestyle) and the other is plain potatoes cut up and fried. Homestyle is the default, but the servers were very nice and allowed me to switch to the fried kind for no charge. The fried ones were perfect a little salt and ketchup and they were awesome. My mother and grandmother were with me. My mom got the bacon I ordered and some sausage. She said the bacon was a bit salty, but said the sausage was good. My grandmother got the eggs scrambled with cheese and said they were great. They also left the homestyle potatoes on the table and my grandmother sampled them several times and said they were good. Overall a solid dining experience. A lot of families were in there, but it wasn't too loud. Plenty of restaurant space. The waitresses are older, but get the job done. They were friendly and got the food out to us fresh and quickly. I did not get to try their lunch as they do lunch starting at 10:45am. Breakfast until 10:30am. A really good place to go when you want a quick, affordable breakfast.

I asked our very helpful and sweet server Jersey if she had only 2 choices with one being chicken fried chicken or the daily special Taco Salad, which would she go with and she said the taco salad. So, that's what I ordered. It was very tasty, loaded with 2 types of cheese a side of Jalapeño (which I gave to hubby) alot of fresh tomatoes and lettuce, a side of salsa and sour cream served in a somewhat crispy tortilla shell. And the shell is the only reason for a 4 star vs 5, the shell wasn't as light and crispy as I like it. It tasted as if they fried it several hours ago and honestly, I get why they did it that way as it saves time but the shell just left me disappointed. Hubby ordered a patty melt with fries. We came into town to scope out the Jacksonville Landing for future bass fishing mornings and when I told him we were stopping in here for lunch he already knew he was having the melt. I mean, he thought about it for 90 minutes lol. I've had their melts before and it is yummy. I think though the fries were the star on his plate. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside and topped with something akin to Old Bay Seasoning. And they were HOT! Y'all, i mean, they're only fries but rhey were PERFECT! I am seriously alreasy looking forward to our 1st fishing adventure just so we can have lunch at the Kettle once we've caught all the bass. Jersey was quite attentive, but not hovering and warm friendly like only you'll find in the south. Oh, bestie told me to get the chocolate torte because she said, literally, "it's life altering." However, I forgot to so, just another thing for me to enjoy after our initial fishing trip. In some ways, you can go home again.

The flounder was great as you can see in the picture I took. Customer Service: I called them on the phone to see what specials they have for a Friday night. She mentioned several but I what got my attention was the fish special which was the flounder plate for about $9.95. So, that got me down here. I walk in and was immediately greeted and waited on by the waitress. She was the only waitress in the restaurant. She took my drink order which was a sweet tea and brought it to me while I give the menu a thorough look through. When she brought my sweet tea, she took my fish order. My fish plate was brought to me within 5 to 7 minutes. Great by all standards. However, all of a sudden a whole bunch of people started coming in. So much, she ran out of sweet tea in tea maker. I was out of sweet tea at this point. I felt sorry for her. It looked like she was trying to wait on 8 to 10 tables by herself. She told me she would bring me my sweet tea as soon as she can. Meanwhile, I was thirsty so- I took matters in my own hands and got myself some water while she was busy. It was a 5 star visit until she let me eat my meal without a drink. She should have just brought me some water until the sweet tea was made. Nice country people here that I could see. Several people looked at me. As if though they were wondering " who am I ". Features: I noticed a TV up front. They several tables and booths in here. Numerous Ceiling fans cover the ceiling. There are a few other things that cover the wall. I saw a couple rolling pins for dough making. Unusual to see these on a restaurant wall. It's probably the first for me in as many restaurants that I have been in.
