    Great coffee!

Loved this great spot in Little Washington. I came for breakfast with my brother while we were visiting and was greeted and seated promptly by the awesome waitress. I got French toast and it was so delicious. This place has a low frills diner feel, but I was glad to be introduced to it as I am always looking for good breakfast places. Recommended

Always prompt service, simple ambience, and inconsistent food. I go there frequently and generally don't have any concerns. Maybe this is common with some restaurants but it seems like there's always something not available - I realize brisket is rare biscuits? This is my only Issue.

The rave reviews brought me to Shep's Grill for lunch as I thought it'd be similar to the diners I'd been recently. I was greeted when I arrived and told there was seating in the back room. I did notice the health score which was lower than I usually go. The staff is friendly and remembers the regulars and their drink orders. They are even given the breakfast and lunch menu when everyone else just gets the lunch menu. The restaurant has a casual vibe and the decor is basic. I ordered the catfish nuggets as I hadn't seen that anywhere else before. The sides were not listed on the menu so the waitress had to go through a list of them. I just went with the fries. The nuggets were a little too greasy for my liking. The food was ok but nothing I'd return again for.

To all the locals out there, hats off! When I'm in Little Washington, North Carolina, I make it a point to stop by and see my chef & owner friend Jason at Sheps Grill. What a fantastic little hometown place that everybody wishes they had in their neighborhood. With breakfast and lunch choices that are abundant and cooked to order, you will appreciate the quaint & casual environment and the excellent food and great family style atmosphere. One of my favorites is the vanilla cinnamon French toast and the cheese grits. I've also enjoyed the smoked brisket on Thursdays and I've had the opportunity to have a BLT at lunch as well as their cheeseburgers and tater tots. This is a Hoppin little place so get there early and make some new friends over a great hot meal while you enjoy some of the best that little Washington has to offer!

We love this dinner for its quality food and amazing people. On our way to Virgina Beach, we swing by just right before they close (by noon - 1pm). So make sure you call before arrival to see if they still open. Dont look at their hour. Food are great and good portion. They cook right in front of us. The bacon pancake is very interesting. I wish to come back another day.

Shep's is a wonderful space. Casual, friendly, accepting of all. Very clean, both comfort food and healthy options. Servers are so kind and helpful to the elderly. The service and quality of food can not be beat. They use fresh spinach in their omelettes and keep the coffee cups filled. My kind of place. My favorites are brisket dishes, their crazy good biscuits, Eggs Benedict

I ordered the breakfast sandwich, potatoes and a black coffee. It was very good at a fair price. I'd go back.

Ribeyes Steakhouse - Triple chocolate, mousse, cake, just heavenly!

    Ribeyes Steakhouse

    (69 reviews)

Me and my dad were seeking a solid dinner in Washington, NC, and Ribeyes looked promising, so we…read moredecided to try it. It was fairly good! The restaurant has a very old southern steakhouse theme to it, with a closed in feel. It is fairly small, but that's alright. The salad bar is ok. It is not a large selection. The lettuce itself was good quality, but the ranch was 100% bottled. Other toppings were just alright, nothing special. My dad got the small portion ribeye, and I got the 6oz filet. The ribeyes all have definite prices, while the filets have "market price" next to them. This can be an easy way to rip people off, because my filet was way too expensive for what it was. $45 for just a standard filet. But despite this price, both of the steaks were pretty good! They both had good flavor, and were cooked at a nice medium rare. For sides, they only serve sweet potato, baked potato, or a twice baked potato. My dad's twice baked was good he said, and my potato was good as well. It didn't have an earthy flavor like some do, which I liked. They also serve a slice of toast, which was good, but needs butter :). If you want a good steak in Washington with attentive and friendly service, come to Ribeyes. Just beware of the filet prices.

We've eaten here for dinner quite a few times and it was good. But we went there for lunch today…read moreand I couldn't even eat it. I had the Angus burger and not only was it not Angus, it had a mush texture and tasted nothing like hamburger. The bun was thick, sweet and gross. They also don't even have french fries??? Options were a baked potato, sweet potato, twice baked or broccoli. Apparently they got rid of their deep fryer. One of the burgers at our table was supposed to be Med-Rare and one Med - they were WELL DONE. Broccoli appeared to be oven burnt, overcooked with shredded cheese. They claim they "revamped" their lunch menu in February, but it definitely wasn't for the better. Server was very nice and polite, responsive and asked if I wanted to speak to the manager, perhaps I should have, but I didn't want to. The very low volume in their restaurant on a nice Saturday afternoon, water front...should have been the first clue. Very disappointed in whatever change they made, I can get a better quality burger at Cook Out (fast food). Way overpriced for the quality of food. Such a shame for such a neat, unique setting.
