Tap Room
Jill M.

What a delightful space on Main Street in historic Washington for brunch on a Saturday! We sat in the tap room with the view of the water. It was quiet and peaceful. LaTonia was our server and she did an amazing job taking care of us. The food was spot on. I recommend the avocado toast or the breakfast sandwich. Desserts look pretty tempting too. This is our first visit and we look forward to returning. It is under new ownership and a new menu is coming in February 26 and a sushi menu later in the year. Best of luck.

Grits and Meatballs

Amazing food! It was a beautiful day so we sat out on the porch which is a great choice to bird watch with kids. The inside was so nice too and had a great bathroom. Service was immediate and food came quickly. I got the grits and meatballs and it is the best thing I've eaten in months! My husband got the mulberry burger and gave it a 7/10 which is still high for his ranking. Overall would go back!

After party ... from the small plates!

Very good dinner! We chose to go for several small plates and they didn't disappoint. The chili garlic shrimp were exceptional, the Brussels sprouts were top notch, spinach dip and mulberry salad were good additions. Topped it off with a coffee stout. Nice staff, somewhat crowded seating that should be spaced a bit to save the staff and clients climbing over each other. But a great place!

Visited: 5/20/25 This was my first time visiting Washington, NC, and the place was recommended by a local. I arrived during lunch hours, and there was a small crowd. The inside was clean and provided nice views of the town. I ordered the chef's chicken sandwich, and it came with potatoes. The potatoes were seasoned nicely, and they provided a decent portion. Unfortunately, I'm unable to eat spicy food, so I requested no honey chipotle ranch. Well, needless to say, with that ranch, the chicken was just okay. Although the chicken sandwich didn't wow me, I would return to try a different menu item.

I was visiting a friend who lives in Washington, and she insisted we have dinner here. The interior is stunning, service impeccable, and the view of the river from our patio table was so relaxing. We were here on a weeknight, so it wasn't busy and we were able to have a slow dinner and enjoy the water view. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic! The burger was really good, but the potatoes that were served with the burger were outstanding! I think the smashed potatoes side item actually upstaged the burger. When we walked in, I caught sight of the pastry display and noticed coconut cake. My friend and I shared that for dessert and felt it was one of the best ever! The entire experience was wonderful.

Ok so we came in for dinner. Beautiful restaurant and nice view of the river from the outdoor dinning area. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, Firecracker Shrimp, Mulberry Burger with potatoes , and a pasta dish. Everything tasted great. Have to mention the awesome potatoes that came with the burger. Just make sure they are hot. Very good service from Sidney as well.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch! The food was delicious and the service was great. Good location downtown.

While visiting Washington we had the opportunity to eat here twice. There is a nice deck out back overlooking the waterfront and they have a rooftop that was closed for the winter season. We enjoyed a Saturday brunch of shrimp and grits. The service was quick and the flavors were wonderful. Then we returned Sunday for dinner. We enjoyed stuffed mahi with Broccolini and finished with cheesecake. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed both visits.

The steaks were great and the service was average. The interior is part restaurant part cafe. The tables are close together. Would eat here again.

Hit & miss, some dishes were passable and some were not. Service was ok. Menu doesn't depict what actual dish looks like.

When i think cowboy boots i think tepid, drip-coffee sitting on a burner in police-station break room, being filtered into the mouth of an overweight, but no-nonsense detective with crumbs in his wilford-brimley mustache. This place is dripping with a barn-y, live-laugh-love vibe. It's very yeehaw. And they play Christian music; which, messaging aside I probably wouldn't mind except Christian music is always across-the-board godawful. Point being, it is a very specific vibe. But. The owner runs a tight ship. It's a high volume place and no one is lolly-gagging; everyone is bouncing around on their toes, nimble and bright-eyed, ready to test the limits of their blenders with the just-called-in-order of 14 smoothies and fraps, on top of the snaked-around-the-building line for the drive-thru. They have a good system, and are usually on point, with efficiency and speed and accuracy. I have been going there for the better part of a decade and i have never had a drink screwed up. Furthermore, my drink is always consistent, regardless of who makes it -big points for that. There's another place in town where my choice beverage varies wildly in taste and consistency depending on who is working that day. Also they don't use any of those garbage Monin liquid syrups; they use the better Torani syrups, and even better, they mix the espresso with the syrup, so that it's emulsified properly in iced coffee-drinks and not just sitting heavy on the bottom of the cup for you to suck up in one go through your straw.

While it's cute, I think it may be to make up for what it lacks in coffee and service. I stopped here because my go to shop is closed on Sunday, and this morning I was desperate for caffiene. I ordered the coastal caramel breeze, which would be good if it were not just flavored milk. I ended up getting three shots of espresso added because it just lacked any taste of coffee. I say this not in a rude way but just to let others know if you actually want coffee taste, it's gonna come at a price. I had been there before with a friend who told me he had ordered us extra shots because of this same reason. Service, well, it's kind of obvious they surely don't believe in "customer is always right". I worked in good service before and I 100% get being stressed, however, my shift would have gotten written up or fired if we handled a full lobby this way. I walk in and no one greets me, which I see they're kind of busy so it doesn't bother me. But as other customers walk in it's the same pattern. I go to order and try to ask how the barista is, I'm cut off with asking for my order. Again they're busy so I try to give them the benefit of doubt. I order, I pay, whatever. While waiting I see another lady also waiting on something, with a coffee drank part of the way, iced down the rest, but she seems a little irritated. She politely went up and asked if they had made her sandwich she ordered half an hour ago, and if not she just was ready to go. Before she finished that sentence she was cut off and asked "well did you get a bagel or biscuit??" Tone was a little too off in my opinion. The customer sweet as ever says "oh I'm not sure I specified." Which leads me to believe she didn't know. Well barista stops acknowledging her, walks to the back and asks about it, with again that same rude tone, to be met with "it just came out, like I just bagged it" anyway customer gets it and then is told "it's on a biscuit by the way". I will say, I find it kind of odd to not make sure the customer was okay with said item. I receive my drink, tell them have a good day and leave. The drink despite having three shots is still pretty milky. Closing statement, this was a desperate stop since it's the only coffee shop open on Sunday, but next time I think it would save me time and money just to stop at the gas station and get a drink there. I would hope for change but I only ever see the owner argue with reviews rather than try and listen and grow from them.

I questioned if I was there during the right hours And I was told you have to get there early. Said that was good to know, but I did not live there and had never had that trouble before especially during the regular hours. I was then told I could order ahead. I placed my order for the next day and gave my time for pick up and again he kind of rudely said are you sure you'll be here? We will close early if we sell out. So it is a good thing that their items still taste really good or I would never worry about going back. With all that being said if they are so eager to get out early every day, why not just change the hours of business? Also, why not post on their social media that if you would like to have certain items that you can place an order and specify a pick up time?
