I fell in love with this cafe on my recent visit to Washington. The iced Chai latte was divine. Wonderful service, and what a cool interesting space to spend some time relaxing. The brick walls are mesmerizing and murals really lovely to look at. This is one of the many places that will bring me back to Washington for a weekend getaway in the future.

Cinnamon rolls are just amazing very fresh and moist. They're several different types, all excellent

The owners say you'll get to know them best when you stop in and they are right. I came in with my wife and we both ordered iced mochas. The owner said they had been working on a 20 hour cold brew that reduces the acidity to pretty much nothing. He gave us a free sample and the brew was simply a clean flavor that I don't normally get with coffee. Just a crisp, clean and pure coffee flavor. I added some blue raspberry to the drink and it was simply sensational! My wife added nothing to hers and said the same thing. The baked goods were slim pickings because they had all pretty much sold out earlier. When talking to the owners, they are friendly and very engaging and it isn't hard to tell they love what they do. Do yourself a favor and stop by!

Although the place is cutely decorated, the service was rude, chaotic, and unprepared.

Title: A Contender for the Crown: Mom's Grill is a Must-Try!…read moreRating: Living in Washington, you learn pretty quickly that we take our burgers seriously. After my latest visit to Mom's Grill, I can confidently say the local leaderboard has been shaken up! I ordered the Original Cheeseburger "All the Way" (chili, onions, and mustard), and it was an absolute knockout. Here is the breakdown: The Burger Breakdown * The Patty: The first thing you'll notice is the size. The beef portion here is substantial--it's noticeably larger and heartier than the patties at Dairy Palace or King Chicken. * The Build: They've mastered the "Meat-to-Bun" ratio. Even with the chili and mustard, the bun holds up, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. It's a messy, delicious, classic NC burger. * The Verdict: This is easily the best burger I've had in a long time. It's simple, nostalgic, and incredibly satisfying. My Official Washington, NC Burger Rankings: * La Vaquita Mexican Grill: Still the reigning champ. These are the "supermodels" of burgers--huge, juicy, and incredibly photogenic. * Mom's Grill: A very close runner-up. If you want that classic, hometown cheeseburger flavor with a superior meat portion, this is the spot. * King Chicken: The perfect "hand-sized" burger. It's a total throwback to the old-school drive-in days. * Dairy Palace: A timeless local staple. It's a great burger, though I personally think both DP and King Chicken could reach that next level if they upgraded their beef patties to match the quality of Mom's or La Vaquita. Pro Tip: If you're a fan of a heavy meat portion and classic toppings, don't sleep on Mom's Grill. It's officially in my Top 5! While it's cute, I think it may be to make up for what it lacks in coffee and service. I stopped here because my go to shop is closed on Sunday, and this morning I was desperate for caffiene. I ordered the coastal caramel breeze, which would be good if it were not just flavored milk. I ended up getting three shots of espresso added because it just lacked any taste of coffee. I say this not in a rude way but just to let others know if you actually want coffee taste, it's gonna come at a price. I had been there before with a friend who told me he had ordered us extra shots because of this same reason. Service, well, it's kind of obvious they surely don't believe in "customer is always right". I worked in good service before and I 100% get being stressed, however, my shift would have gotten written up or fired if we handled a full lobby this way. I walk in and no one greets me, which I see they're kind of busy so it doesn't bother me. But as other customers walk in it's the same pattern. I go to order and try to ask how the barista is, I'm cut off with asking for my order. Again they're busy so I try to give them the benefit of doubt. I order, I pay, whatever. While waiting I see another lady also waiting on something, with a coffee drank part of the way, iced down the rest, but she seems a little irritated. She politely went up and asked if they had made her sandwich she ordered half an hour ago, and if not she just was ready to go. Before she finished that sentence she was cut off and asked "well did you get a bagel or biscuit??" Tone was a little too off in my opinion. The customer sweet as ever says "oh I'm not sure I specified." Which leads me to believe she didn't know. Well barista stops acknowledging her, walks to the back and asks about it, with again that same rude tone, to be met with "it just came out, like I just bagged it" anyway customer gets it and then is told "it's on a biscuit by the way". I will say, I find it kind of odd to not make sure the customer was okay with said item. I receive my drink, tell them have a good day and leave. The drink despite having three shots is still pretty milky. Closing statement, this was a desperate stop since it's the only coffee shop open on Sunday, but next time I think it would save me time and money just to stop at the gas station and get a drink there. I would hope for change but I only ever see the owner argue with reviews rather than try and listen and grow from them.

We queued up 18 songs all with fast pass so they would play instantly. Two of the songs played and then the rest never did. I had just left an adult family pajama party and I got a little lit. I ordered my usual, Texas bacon cheesesteak melt with hashbrowns and orange juice. Then I proceeded to use the restroom. I planned to do so first but was occupied. I decided to sit at the bar as I came solo. When I returned from the restroom, my OJ was ready in a plastic cup. I noticed most of the staff i holiday attire. The exception was my server who was in typically Waffle House attire. My Server assumed I was ordering to go. I noticed the cook putting my order in a to go tray and I asked a different server if I could eat here and she said yes. By the time it was all said and done, my food was already packaged up. I sat inside and ate. My food was ready within 5 minutes. Joshua was the cook. Around 2:50pm, I ordered a waffle lol. By this time, it was just me in there. I bought some Touch Tunes credits and was vibing. ---- I went back the next day (Christmas) around 12:20pm as they were really the only place open. It was really busy. Luckily, there were two seats at the bar for my son and I. Our waitress was Lakeland (maybe spelled incorrectly) Around 12:25pm, I went ahead and ordered my son food. He got a kids waffle with peanut butter and chocolate chips plus bacon. At 12:27pm, I ordered my food. I got the all star with hashbrowns, blueberry waffle, and bacon. My son received his food at 12:30pm. The bacon looked perfectly crispy while his waffle was over cooked. I received my food at 12:38pm. Not gonna lie, I was initially concerned about my waffle because it looked like mold lol. BUT, it tasted fine lol. The Bacon was crispy and delicious. The toast was great as well. Another good experience!
