They are amply staffed for excellent service and the don't disappoint. The service and ambience is want I would expect in a large city. Pricing matches large city restaurants but is justified for the right occasion I started with the tortilla soups . presentation was over the top. Sadly the tortilla slices were excessively abundant. The broth was just warm. Condiments added were a wonderful white cheese. A light sour cream. Avocado and dried pepper for some spice. Tacos were beyond great. The fish taco was beautiful to look at and the taste was outstanding. The fish was fried in a light batter, not at all oily. It tasted like it was never frozen and fresh from the sea. I mistakenly also order a steak taco. The fish taco would have been enough. The steak taco wasn't much to look at but the meat was tender and tasty. Beware if you make a reservation here. We had a confirmation for a party of 14 and just days before the party, the restaurant reached out and tried to enforce a limited food and beverage menu, a fee, and all other sort of contingencies that are not expressly listed on their website. I now have to make other arrangements at the last minute which is troubling when some of my guests are from out of town. Again, they do not honor their commitments and the communication about expectations/fees was nonexistent. Horrible experience. Beware! read more

The food here was amazing. I, along with a friend had the Short Rib, that rested on a bed of mashed potatoes and a flavorful gravy and green beans on the side. I'm not kidding when I say this was the most tender and beautiful short rib either of us had ever had. The table shared Quatro Leches cake, Cheesecake, and Pastel de Elote for desert - while all three were amazing, we all voted on Cheesecake as our #1. We had booked a table of 11 for which I had to pay a $60 deposit. 8 were able to make it. Five of us ordered the filet, two ordered the chicken Milanese, and one ordered the filet tacos. We also ordered drinks and cowboy corn rib appetizers. First, our server was very very nice. She was new but did a good job. It took too long to get drinks, but she did her best. She did a good job with the table-side Caesar salad. The cowboy corn ribs were ok, but $12 for what you get was about 3x what they are worth. The tacos were great. The chicken... was ok but the plain buttered bow tie pasta with them was bland and way undercooked. Now for the steaks; 3 of them were slightly overcooked, and the potatoes served with them were barely warm. The other two filets, ordered medium, were way past well done and served with mashed potatoes that were not far above freezing. We had waited 90 minutes to get the food. The manager was called over to discuss the two most problematic steaks and potatoes. He didn't seem to speak English much, and acted like he didn't understand my concerns. I suggested that he remove those two from the bill and the two whole didn't eat would get something elsewhere, but he assured us it would only be 4-5 minutes for replacements. He took the potatoes and steaks, and came right back out 3 minutes later with microwaved potatoes and no steaks. 20 minutes more went by, and the night was ruined after a 2 hour wait. When they steaks finally arrived, alas, they were overcooked again. After a healthy argument, the two steaks were removed and I had to argue to get my $60 deposit applied to my bill. $450 and two of us didn't eat. One round of drinks. I would absolutely not recommend anyone go there for a party or group, and hope the smaller parties get better meals. In the end, the manager, who we saw wandering around without doing much, could have saved the day but botched the terry handily. read more

We ordered the red snapper and received half a fish that smelled and came with flies. The plate had something red like tomato under the fish. The dish was inedible. It was ugly and we sent it back. The manager came over and started to argue that the dish was fine. I do not recommend this restaurant, in fact, I say never go to encino for any reason. I was super excited when I found Encino online for my upcoming NC visit for my Moms birthday. The Instagram page looked like just my vibes! Walking in the door the aesthetics were just as expected. It was very nice and welcoming on the inside. The outside has fire pits and a nice looking lounge area also. We were pleasantly greeted at the hosted stand and seated for our reservation. Our server Denasia came out to greet us pleasantly. We ordered a couple apps for the table, the stuffed poblano and the guac which were both fresh and delicious! The cocktails were also really good, I had a spicy marg and my sis had the sunrise mimosa. We ordered our entrees next and mine was the filet mignon prepared medium. I wasn't too crazy about the flavor and it was also a bit dry. When expressed to our server she let someone know and came back to say that it wouldn't be removed from the bill because they feel it was prepared perfectly. I still asked to order the short rib in its place, and mentioned that it's poor business practice to tell a customer that something is prepared perfectly if they express it wasn't suitable to them. We noticed a gentleman who we thought may have been the manager hovering around but never approached the table to say anything. When the short rib came out it was literally a quarter of the size of the one my sister was served and had very little au jus around it. It was small to the point that I thought it was a prank! I also let her know that we never received the sweet potato side. By now we were ready to order a 3rd round of drinks but I was frustrated and asked for the bill for the table. Denasia let me know they would be removing the steak, short rib, and side that never came. I was a little more relieved at that, also still felt they left her in the line of fire. When we were then pleasantly approached by Joel a Mgr. I explained what went wrong and how I had such high expectations. And also that we had thoroughly enjoyed everything else. I appreciated so much that he came to speak with us so I ordered that 3rd round which also ended up comped. He turned what could have been an experience that left a bad taste in our mouth around to one in which I'll be return when back in town. We went for Cinco de Mayo because we knew there was going to be a performer. Our waitress was Karina and she was amazing! Her hairstyle was so beautiful too. She had her hair in two braids with ribbons. I LOVED the representation and her service was top tier! She was very attentive, knew the menu and had amazing recommendations. I underestimated the tacos (delicious) and the drinks were so good. I had a margarita (I forgot the name of it but it comes with berries) and it was so good. our Server was excellent. Felt sorry for the server having to keep apology for the long delays. But ordered two rib entrees and they ran out so went with the mahi mahi tacos which were excellent. The main big problem is we were there for at least 2 1/2 hours for our food to be delivered. The waiter was super nice and apologetic but something is going on in the kitchen. It took way to long to get our liquor drinks and then waiting on salads which took a very long time and then another long delay before we got our small plate order of one taco. Taco was left open with a slab of beef laying on top. Presentation was awful. Plus we were sitting outside and every table was the same with long intervals between drinks, salad and entrees. This is the 4th time coming to the restaurant and will probably be the last time. We were so excited to see a high end restaurant going in but if they don't step it up business will decline and the restaurant will close leaving us to Bojangles. read more

We made reservations for this evening at 5pm. We arrived and were promptly greeted by the hostess and shown to our table. It was raining and the hostess was so kind and offered to take my coat and hang it up. Our server, Danasia, was phenomenal!!!! Knowledgeable, informative and made GREAT recommendations. We had a bottle of Chenin Blanc, which was beautifully presented and Danasia made sure our glasses were never empty. The atmosphere, the food and the service were top notch. All the dishes looked almost too good to eat! We had Tetelas for an appetizer, the Caesar salad (made table side), Chocinita Pibil, and the grilled Mahi Mahi. For two of us it came to around $230 with tax and tip and that included two appetizers and two rounds of drinks each, along with the main entree.
