We tried Seared on their Valentine's day special menu. French onion soup and tuna were okay, nothing too special. Seafood risotto was so plain. It's a very beige plate of food, lacks seasoning. The cheese didn't even melt it was that cold. The shrimp was okay. It had small scallops throughout and a very small amount of lobster. My husband got the filet which he said was fine. Red velvet cake was awful. The cream cheese icing was weirdly salty. Like.. overwhelmingly salty. The only good thing was our waitress was very nice and sweet. read more

The French toast sticks were nice and the steak breakfast tacos were delicious! We had a large party with lots of orders and our server handled it well with ease. Took my mother-in-law for lunch to celebrate her 94th birthday. (There were 5 of us.) We were promptly greeted by our excellent server, Tamiyah. Although the small salad bar was well stocked, it could only be accessed on one side which means having to lean way over to get to the third row of fixings. Our steaks and potatoes were all delicious and cooked perfectly. The chef surprised us with a delicious pumpkin bread pudding to celebrate the birthday girl! read more

The steaks were overcooked and when it got sent back they were undercooked. As soon as you walk in you can smell weed coming from i'm assuming the kitchen. It is honestly astonishing to witness kitchen workers or possibly the manager leaving the kitchen to come to the bar to grab a drink in the middle of service. I highly doubt that crown royal is used in any of the dishes. With this restaurant being considered fine dining this is highly unprofessional and should not smell like weed when you walk in coupled with workers drinking on the clock. Also if you are sat at a table near the kitchen you can hear the manager yelling curse words at the workers which is crazy to hear in a fine dining setting. read more

Guys, I'm telling y'all to run, not walk, to this place!!! Wife and I couldn't agree more, it is a 10/10. Seared is going to be our new date night. We started off with calamari and 2 mixed drinks, all phenomenal. Next was lobster mac and cheese for the wife and 10oz ribeye, lobster tail, asparagus, and sweet potato purée for myself. When I tell you this was the best steak in Pitt county, i'm not lying. Puts the others to shame! The service was top notch. Derrick was our waiter and you could tell he thoroughly loved his job and was happy to serve us. Can't recommend this place enough. Had another amazing experience at seared's Sunday brunch. I found out to today is the bartender Jordan's last day, we all know she is going to great and be missed greatly. Sunday Brunch options in Greenville are limited and Seared Chop House's food and service were great. The decor is "modern". The only issue is noise--it is loud. Brunch prices are very reasonable. Food choices are diverse and cover everything you'd want from healthy to not so healthy/filling. Portions were good sized. Brunch mixed drinks were good as well as the coffee. This place is a great spot in Greenville with three different environments inside. You can sit in their lounge, sit at their bar, or grab a table. The ahi tuna was a great way to start the meal off. Very good and the presentation was on point. They are known for their steak and it didn't disappoint. They seared it and cooked it perfectly to my liking. The mushrooms were perfect and not overly done or overly seasoned. The salad was simple but very fresh. The server was friendly and very attentive with the food coming out fast on a busy Saturday night. If you haven't tried this establishment yet please don't delay. Never had their food before. Decided to get takeout beef ribs. Always looking for some tender slow-cooked beef (short) ribs. Surprised they had them on their menu. They were OFF THE CHAIN! No knife, just fork. The bed of mashed potatoes were lumpy - just the way I like them. The carrots and onions were perfect and the gravy was lick-the-plate good. We came in for brunch with a big party to celebrate a friend's birthday. The "party room" was set up beautifully and the staff had the tv set to a lovely video playing of a fireplace. We were able to decorate to our liking with decorations we purchased to top off the already lovely space. We went to this restaurant after my son's graduation.. the reviews were very good is why we picked this restaurant.. it was not any where near the reviews we had read.. we had the cauliflower tempura.. cauliflower was not cooked.. the cheese fries were soggy.. the firecracker shrimp were good.. I ordered strip steak.. so positive: seasoned well and cooked perfectly.. however it was extremely fatty and grisly in the center.. strip steaks are normally a leaner piece of steak.. my husband had the sirloin.. again seasoned well and cooked perfectly.. but again it was grisly in the center.. the other steak was a ribeye.. was so tough it was hard to cut.. my son had short ribs and were very good.. the crab cake sandwich and chicken sandwiches were fine.. the sides were brusselsprouts.. were so hard not even blanched properly.. the asparagus was hard on stem so were either not trimmed properly or not peeled at the stem..nether were edible.. so there were 6 of us.. split in 2 checks.. so we're charged an automatic 20% gratuity AND a 7.5% charge because we used credit cards.. we did not see where this was going to be a normal charge.. I am sure you have it in such fine print one would not even see it.. the server should have told us at the beginning.. so we were not so shocked at such charges.. !!! The service was ok.. my husband has over 45yrs in the restaurant industry working in back of house.. The tuna appetizer was well presented, mediocre in both preparation and taste. The husband's steak was cooked alright, certainly not to the expectations of a "chophouse ". Think of it more like back yard barbecue +. Saddest of all was the pork chop. This was not bone-in, heritage breed, chop house pork chop, no sir. This was more like stove top on a Wednesday from Walmart, kinda pork chop. Dry, over cooked and, tough...this little piggy died in vain. Finally, the pound cake... one of the 2 house made desserts available for the evening. Yellow cake mix add blueberries and lemon glaze...viola. Maybe the only solice in our experience and $100+ bill is that we neither had to wash dishes or grocery shop at Walmart. Got me once seared, won't happen again. read more
