PC's Done Right were excellent. We asked them to repair a laptop display that had gone black. They put a new screen in my 9-year old laptop. I was lucky they could find a new display for such an old PC. At first my pc didn't work correctly after picking it up. It would crash, and fail to boot, resetting to the boot screen as though the power button had been pressed. Andrew, the owner, asked us to bring the laptop back so they could correct the issue. Andrew traced the problem to thermal paste on the processor heat sink that had gotten brittle with age. After applying new thermal paste, he took extra time to make sure the PC, when running at 100% CPU capacity, was still not overheating. It was returned working perfectly. Both Andrew and Justin very knowlegeable, polite, and willing to work with me - which I really appreciate during these times. I highly recommend them, and would definitely use them again. read more

For IT needs these are your people. I've had all good experiences since approx 2015 and so has family I've referred! This time around my computer crashed with a years worth of tax/accounting info on December 31st, the last day of the year with everything completed. Last minute on New Years Day they were able to get my computer up and running in just a few hours so I would be set up for work the next day. I learned a lesson on backing up externally, but would have been a complete loss if not for them restoring my comp and having it ready for work the next morning! I needed the battery changed in my laptop. It was an internal battery and didn't feel comfortable doing it myself. Changing the battery went well and the laptop runs great. My only complaint is that it took a month to get the part. I called a couple times for updates, and it ended up being a shipping issue. I would have appreciated PC's Done Right to follow up on parts on their own rather than me calling them repeatedly to get the job done. read more

Been using Windows XP on my "ancient" computer for years. Microsoft was pulling the plug on supporting this system and wanted everybody to move onto Windows 10. I had no clue what to do. Buy a new computer or upgrade. Took the tower to this shop and watched this guy go to town on it. Blew out the dust inside and proceeded to nerd talk about all the systems in the box. It was pretty high end stuff, but that was a decade ago. He recommended upgrading the systems. Everything was cheaper, faster and could do more. What to say.. I asked for a quote from PC's Done Right and three other companies (I had meant to only request it from PC's Done Right, but Yelp apparently decided I needed to send to more businesses..), and Andrew at PC's Done Right was the fastest to respond (maybe 15 minutes at most), and their pricing was not the lowest, but nearly. I am quite knowledgeable about hardware and software, but I find building computers from scratch to be deeply stressful. I worry about plugging things into ports incorrectly, not plugging headers into optimal pins, and more than anything I worry I'll overlook something that would be beneficial. Also, I am the worst when it comes to cable management. Dorian did amazing work. He gave me a call when my PSU didn't support two CPU connections, and I felt awful having to go to Fry's, get a new PSU and he had to re-work all of his very impressive cable management. Not because the PSU is expensive (it is), but because he clearly takes great pride in the work, and having to repeat it with what looked to be shorter cables was going to be a time sink. Not a single complaint. A tempered glass case sort of demands intricate work, and this was nothing but a good experience. I've got a new gaming system that, unlike my previous (self-) build, doesn't put out tons of heat that can't be dissipated fast enough. read more

My brand new HP laptop suddenly refused to even open with the teasing of my mouse and my work load was piling up. This desperate situation left me in what was a hopeless state. Searching the internet for help under "Computer Repair" resulted in a beautiful website that filled me with hope for resuscitating my poor computer. My first ever solo build wasn't booting, so I requested a quote for assistance through the website. In less than an hour I had a callback, and I brought my PC in at about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. The tech asked if I needed it in a rush, and I told him to just do it when he could get to it. He said they would probably get to it Saturday, but that it might stretch into Monday. 3 hours later I get a call- it was all ready to go! I went down the next morning and picked it up, and chatted with the tech about what I had done wrong. Great service, very fast. This place is great, I think my computer drove the guys crazy trying to figure out what was wrong with it, a bit of trial and error and they had it repaired. They are straight up with you, will quote you the price and what they are going to do and how long it will take, they called, text and emailed me to let me know the status of my computer. It is still working like new even though it's a number of years old. I hope I never need them again but if I do this will be the place I go for my repairs. read more

Second trip to PC's Done Right. This time a refurb desktop was running extremely slow. Took it in Tuesday afternoon for diagnosis/repair. Wednesday morning Justin called with his findings (dying hard drive). He suggested a smaller solid-state drive to which I agreed since I knew solid-state drives are really fast. Wednesday afternoon Justin called and said he had replaced the bad drive and cloned the old drive to the new one. I went in and picked it up, hooked it up to my home network and found it to be lightning-fast. Great job, Justin! read more

While cleaning my keyboard ( a little too forcefully, I guess) I popped off one of the keys. First he suggested purchasing a replacement key which I did and he offered to install it for free. When I took my laptop in we discovered they had sent the wrong key so I opted for a new keyboard. The price was lower than Infotech in Federal Way and after receiving the part only took him a couple of hours to install. Plus he cleaned the fan which was causing the laptop to run hot and fix the screen hinges! I have never had such great service - fast, efficient and reasonable!! I really didn't want to give this place a bad review... but I really think I should share my experience. I had a laptop that had a broken charging port. Had my boyfriend drop it off for me and I was thrilled because they said it would be done by the next day. I really needed to get some pictures off of it for the following weekend. Unfortunately when I went to pick it up myself the place very smelled musty. The person working brought me to the back room to get my laptop and I immediately noticed ants crawling around. I tried to ignore the ants and was hopeful that my laptop was fine. I paid and quickly got out but as I was getting to my car there were ants crawling out of my laptop and onto my arm where I was holding it. I freaked out and didn't really know what to do. I was disgusted and didn't want to go back in. It was crawling with ants. I set it on the floor of my car and started to drive off, but a few minutes later I decided to call and I explained to the guy who helped me that I was upset but he didn't apologize and basically tried to put the blame on me, saying I probably spilled something on it and that's why it got ants. I was upset and asked how we can fix this situation, so he said he'd have his boss call me. The boss got back to me within the hour and he was very nice and apologized for everything and had me explain the situation myself. He had me bring the laptop back and said it'd be ready the next day. When I went back the place was cleaned up and my laptop was clean. I am thankful for them fixing my charging port and they also repaired a fan cover for no charge. I was not offered any sort of discount for what happened which definitely bothered me. From previous reviews it seems my situation was unique but from my experience I will not personally not come back here. read more

The Carbonite had some issues but Andrew worked thru them with me over text and did several remote views on my computer to help which immediately solved the issue.
