One of the most important things is customer service, and the staff was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. After speaking with geek squad, HP, and tech support at Staples, they all said that if I send my computer away to get fixed it would be $500. We all assumed that a new power jack needed replacement as the power cord would not charge computer. I spent two hours and best by looking at computers and learning all about them through the sales man. I didn't want to buy another computer because it seemed like a waste for an $8 part. So, I went to this local business and they diagnosed my computer and told me in less than 25 hours what was wrong with my computer. That is exactly what happened and I got to pick up my computer the next day. I was so happy to see my computer working again as the motherboard had had a short circuit and they rebooted it. I know this situation could've been worse but I didn't think it was necessary to buy a new computer. Their prices were fair, if I had to use them again, I would, but I'm hoping that I will not. read more

When my PC hard drive crashed with no hope of return last Wednesday, I could have kicked myself. I should have taken a full system image backup regularly. My Mom always said, "no shoulda' coulda' woulda's." So I wish to save you from the same sorry fate. Take regular image backups as well as file backups, and take your PC to Gary at PC Healthstop on Rte 9 in Framingham. I needed a service where I could discuss pc issues with the professionals who are going to recover my data and get my PC back to 'new'. I was unwilling to hand over my PC and wait weeks only to hear "no can do, but we can sell you a great new computer with Windows 10 and a 3 year contract". That I would never let happen. Gary at PC Healthstop understands this. After last week, I will rely on PC Healthstop for rest of my computing days. They have the knowledge, the talent and the necessary tools, and they are honest. Gary will tell you if there is a service that they do not perform, and he will point you to someone who can help you. He is very down to earth and will speak to you at your level, whatever level that may be. He asked his technical specialists Anna and Freddie to triage separate issues in parallel so that he could efficiently provide me with an approach, a timeline, and an estimate for the recovery of data and rebuild of a new hard drive. No contract was pushed on me, and I did not request or obtain one. True to his original quote of time, cost and approach, Gary and team had my machine ready for me in 2 days - I picked it up on Saturday. To me, was amazing service! The charges were for a hard drive, data retrieval (you got it - they got ALL of my data from the hard drive!), and rebuild of the hard drive. No matter how many person-hours were spent, by policy PC Healthstop will not exceed a maximum charge on quoted services. This was a big job. Additionally, as part of their standard operating procedures, they ran diagnostics and fully cleaned the inside of the machine, so that no other problems would negate the benefit of a new hard drive, or otherwise ruin it. One other point that matters so much to me - Gary, Anna and Freddie (my 'assigned team') all freely educate through discussion. I have been in the IT business for over 30 years and they have educated me enough to take care of my hardware more responsibly, but also to know that I do not want to BE them! Thank you team! I can't understand why this company is rated so low. Gary is top notch. His attention to detail and the fact that he listens to my concerns is huge. You can't get this service anywhere else. I stopped in with my laptop and he told what was wrong with it and quoted me a good price. He told me to come back later that day and that my computer would be done. I did and it was done. All I can say is if you plan to get BUY a computer here, let the buyer beware. You better know at least as much or more about computers than they do, otherwise you will over pay for inferior machine. After the fact you will hear the word "miscommunication" a lot. In my eyes it is a simple bait and switch, the advertised price on the website is $699 you call to ask what the total will be as you will be paying cash the answer $745 which is about what $699 + .0625% is. You show up with said amount only to be charged $745 plus tax for a total of $844. I asked about the website and get told they don't have it, but cant change the site because they only do it once a month. Do not go to a computer store that cannot update its website on the fly. lastly, I was told they would do a free data swap, which I thought was great, I didn't know it meant they would transfer Vista from my old computer to new, because I didn't know to ask. They did reload Windows 7 on, but lost a good amount of data in the process and only loaded the 32 bit version of Windows 7, vastly inferior to the 64 bit. Bottom line, I got the same machine for my daughter at Big Box Store with free data transfer and 6 months of support and data transfer for $545 Looks like shopping local for a computer is not the way to go. read more

These guys deserve 5 stars. I have known them for years. I even worked for them for a few years in between 2011-2015? They are great and easy to work with. I couldn't tell you how many times during client visits or in shop visits, everyone would say they are happy with the service or the honest truth. I can't even count how many times people would say they were sent here from someone at a major store (BB) or from someone else who couldn't do the required work. At PCHS, they will take their time to explain the problem and why it happened; ensure your issue is fixed, offer a software support contract, to fix MANY software issues, data migrations, OS re-installs, upgrades and MORE (covered under contract) on products they don't even own or invented. Printer issues? Yeah, good luck calling the manufacture, you won't get the help you need and deserve, call these guys when your laptop/desktop, printers and other devices are causing headaches. I'm glad I had a chance to work for them years back and I was able to see first hand from their customers, what a wonderful service they provide! read more

Scam operation. Cannot be trusted in any way. Will lie, deceive and do anything to get you to pay, then pay more, then pay yet again. In the end, PC Healthstop is not likely to even fix your problem, just charge you more and more and explain that they tried "everything". The laptop was given to them with a minor problem but fully functional for a diagnostic only. The changes that PC Healthstop made to the unit crippled it from ever booting and they recommended paying them to "recover" the data. What they did to our laptop was criminal and we are contemplating file complaints with the Attorney General and in Civil Court. read more

I have to admit I'm puzzled by the spate of bad reviews on Yelp for PC Healthstop. (I've learned to not take Yelp at face value. Half of the reviewers tend to be competitors making shit up). In a nutshell, I have been going to Healthstop for about seven years now and have never had one problem - not one - with them. I started going to them originally in Burlington as I live there. Unfortunately, they shut down that office and moved to Framingham. And even though there are several repair shops near me, I still drive 20 miles out of my way to go to them. Why? Because I TRUST them and their service. I have also talked to their owner and he seems like a straight shooter. I like to think I'm a pretty good judge of character. I know there are some complaints about buying computers from them and I cannot speak directly to that. (Although I would not have a problem in considering doing it). The majority of the time that I visit them has been for either repairs or mostly to get rid of some virulent virus that slows down my laptops and/or home PC. Each time they've been able to take care of the problem, patiently explaining to me what the problem was and how just having a PC on the Internet is going to exacerbate this problem. I signed my laptop up for the program that allows me to bring it in every few months. Frankly I didn't do this before, less because of the money, more because I didn't want the pain in the neck of bringing it in. But since I use my laptop in business every day, this seems cost-effective to me. So, I highly recommend these guys. For the record, I have exactly zero affiliation with them other than as a satisfied customer. Oh, and they've answered questions for me by mail and phone about certain issues such as Chrome dropping Java support. One more thing - I was a techie (a network engineer) for about 15 years before I gravitated into project management. I never told these guys that and I've never felt that they tried to bamboozle me technically. read more

I had a PC that had some type of motherboard problem that ultimately ended up being a bad processor. A FACT that these folks never figured out! These guys claimed they could diagnose and repair anything. But after having my box for two weeks and not hearing anything back from them I called to find out that they couldn't figure out what is wrong with it they couldn't fix it and that I should just come get it back!!!! BUT WAIT! The best part was when I went to pick it up they wanted to charge me $50 for the time they spent not getting my computer to work...... When I protested that cost and stated that they agreed to fix my computer and not just do nothing and then charge me for it they got very rude and said there time cost money and they spent time not fixing my computer and if I wanted the box back I needed to pay them to get it back. These people are bottom feeders that will rip anybody off they possibly can. Stay far away from these people you have been warned beware! I do however recommend Bronzetti's Pizzeria that is in the same building. You will enjoy their pizza it's the old Framingham Union House recipe just stay away from PC Health stop! read more

I am so disappointed to write this review. A year and a half ago, I signed up for a one year contract with PC HealthStop to keep our company's computers operating smoothly. Things were fine, initially. Now however, the staff is beyond impolite and dismissive, and after receiving my laptop back this week, it has created more problems than it solved. They promise 24 hour turnaround for removing spyware, malware, etc. from a computer. However, they kept mine without apology for four days. I cannot overemphasize the rudeness of the staff. They treat customers with disdain as if we were upsetting their operations by paying them to do work. And now that I have lost faith in them to at least do the job they promise, I recommend to all that you avoid walking in the door. I wish I could rate them zero stars. read more

I had dropped something on my laptop and the LED screen cracked. I brought my laptop in. The person explained everything they had to do. Gary told me how much the repair would cost. They had to part in stock to fix it. Within a half hour my laptop was repaired. My laptop is also working much better since they fixed it. The new location is very easy to get to. read more

I thought this place was awful. They charged over a hundred and fifty bucks to de-bug my computer and when I brought it home my sound didn't work!! I went back to get fixed, but the owner refused to fix the sound unless I paid $80! I dropped the computer off, it had sound. I picked it up, it had no sound, I'm not paying this guy to fix anything ever again. read more

Buyer beware. I purchased a computer from PC Healthstop and after replacing it twice they were unable to get the third computer working over a four month period. I was down for weeks over this period of time. My opinion is they are unfamiliar with small business solutions such as Microsoft Office 365 and do not provide any back up if your computer is down. They have the capability to remote view your PC but are not effective at repairing issues in that venue. Rather than being results oriented, they focus on listing everything they did which did not work. I have migrated to a new IT provider, and the difference in service is amazing. read more

Scammers I bought their "plan". One pays around $200 for a year's worth of being able to bring in the computer and get it cleaned up from viruses and get it restored to smooth running . I also, at their recommendation bought a virus protection program. Not only did the virus protection not protect my computer, but when I brought it in to get fixed they said that they couldn't do it without some outside software. During the time I went to look for the necessary software, I left my computer there. Somehow, they managed to get the fix they needed about three weeks after I dropped it off. Coincidentally, this was two days after my contract had run out. They praised themselves to the moon, and then said that they wouldn't give me back the fixed computer unless I bought another year-long contract from them. When I said that I wouldn't pay it, they put my computer back in its broken state to return it to me. They never called me to say that they had found a fix but that it would cost additional, they never asked for permission to spend more of my money, They were sure to tell me how wonderful they are and how they weren't "going to argue with me." They are arrogant and imperious, and if I'm going to have to pay someone to fix my computer, I'd rather it be at some place where honesty and forthrightness are important. You can bring your computer here, but I don't know why you would. read more

Been using maintenance contract for years since they were in Burlington. Just recently purchased a Dell desk top from them, price as good as anyone out there, upgraded to 23 in screen. They transferred all my files for me loaded everything so I only had to plug it in and go. When I arranged to pick it up Peg kept it hooked up and gave me a 15 minute class on all the features and where all my files are. Very pleased I did business with them and have no reason to not go back. read more

I can not give PC Health stop high enough marks. A couple of weeks ago, my hard drive just decided to stop working. I was in quite a panic when I brought it to PC Health Stop where Gary, (the owner), was great with reassuring me that they would take care of it and do whatever it took to save my files. He called me an hour later and told me what the problem was and that they did in fact have all of my data. It turns out that I needed a new hard drive...Vlad and Ryan (the greatest guys who work at PC Health stop), walked me through the whole process and converted all of my data to the new hard drive working within a tight timeline that I had due to some projects that I had to complete. On top of being beyond impressive with their talents, they were the nicest people to work with. They were so patient with me and my lack of technical skills and were respectful and helpful in educating me on the new system. When I got home and still had some issues with getting my printer and camera software reinstalled, Ryan logged in remotely and got it done for me. Clearly he did not have to do any of this, but he did, and would always say "do you need help with anything else?" and "just call us back if you have any more questions or problems". There was no additional charge for all of Ryan's help and time which is unheard of these days. I have in fact made a few more calls to Ryan and he has consistently helped me and solved my system issues every time with the same professionalism and friendliness that he has done since day one. I believe that PC Heath stop is a business with true integrity and talent. read more
