I had a blue screen that I could not get to clear no matter what I tried. I had a eulogy from my father's death I had written and photos people had sent me of him for a slideshow I put together on my computer. There are very important to me. more than anything else on my computer, and I was afraid they were lost. Andrew was able to back up my hard drive, reset my computer, put my files and photos back and I didn't have to go and buy a brand new computer. We talked about changing out the hard drive and other options, just so I could keep the one I have. My computer is back to better than normal, with no added stuff bogging it down. Honestly one of the best experiences I've had at a PC repair store, very down to earth guy, gave me direct and practical advise on not only my reason for being there (a broken GPU) but also, gave me advice for future GPU's what I should look for and what he recommends, he brought up different ways to stabilize future GPU's, dusted my entire PC, and even noticed the screws for my motherboard were not grounding my PC properly and immediately replaced one of the screws so I had at least one ground point. As a student in Engineering, my laptop is my workstation. PC Express is my reliable go-to because they are able to see you and diagnose your problem within a week, and Andy is a real family man with set morals I will be going to him for all future fixes for the gaming laptops I use for work/school. Going even 1 week without my laptop makes it hard to meet deadlines, and other shops will have a backed-up queue for months, but Andy is able to see you, diagnose, order parts, and fix your laptop within the week. He did not even charge me for my last visit even though my computer fix didn't stick for reasons outside of his control, he already ordered the part and everything to try and fix it again but did not charge me for the part. My files from my old laptop were moved to my new laptop within the day I got a new laptop and then scheduled to drop it off for file transferring, I was back to my usual workflow incredibly fast and it really took a lot of anxiety off my mind. My old laptop had motherboard issues and was over 7 years old, Andy always was transparent about potential longevity problems fixing it, and his insights let me make a conscious decision as a customer. read more

I installed some new parts into my PC and it wasn't booting correctly. Took my PC here and the guy did a full diagnostic test on my parts to make sure everything was working and found the problem quickly. After a few days I was able to pick my PC up and not only had it been fixed and everything updated but it was cleaned and had great wire management. I have a mini-itx motherboard with a stripped screw in which I tried every method to remove it. I used the superglue method which ended up making it much worse than before. This is my first experience with PC Express (I'm an individual user and breakdowns don't happen that often). That said...I'm only ten hours into playing with my new (used) computer but I could not be happier. Andrew rescued me by getting me set up with this laptop that he had in his shop when my old one died and was beyond rescuing. So far, I love it. Most impressive about the experience, besides the really solid machine: everything from my old box was transferred to my new one. It was seamless -- even the way the home screen presented looked the same. There were various other details that are harder to describe that were mirrored on the new machine, so once I got it home, I was up and running as if it was my previous PC. I really did not expect it to be this easy. Great price too. if this machine doesn't do anything weird for awhile, I will consider this a total win. It's stressful enough when you're computer is broken and you're unable to fix it yourself, it's even worse when an incompetent, arrogant worker has nothing but smart remarks to say as he's taking apart your computer. Also, I found it very irritating that he felt that need to mention that every part I had in my computer was garbage, terrible, etc. The worker today was incredibly rude, and nothing ended up being accomplished, other than the computer being taken apart into pieces. Save yourself the trouble guys, and find a different place, or if you do choose to come here for help, I hope you don't have as horrible of an experience as I did, not encounter said person. read more

These guys are great! I don't know anything about anything when it comes to laptops - if it works when I press a key that's great. If not I am clueless. They were very patient explaining to me why I was getting constant messages about not enough memory and having things shut down all of a sudden. In less than 4 hours the memory problem was solved with new 16mgh (not sure if that's how it's expressed) capacity and a thorough look-see to identify many things that didn't need to be running or were running in a manner that caused problems. Price was unbelievably reasonable. Back in again two days later to have a new batter installed - took no time at all - and again... very reasonably priced. A good friend recommended PC Express to me and he is a knowledgeable guy - the service and cost was as excellent as he had promised me it would be. read more

I've been using Andrew at PC Express since 2015 when he replaced two hard drives in my PC. 10/2020 still working just fine. Replaced my C drive with a solid state unit in 2017 which proved to be faster than my old C drive. It too is working fine. Replaced my video card this week. My old card failed last week and he installed a loaner used card to get me through until the new one came in. Just a shout out about PC Express. I've used their services multiple times. Most of the time it's been for super small stuff. This last visit was to save my data from a dying computer. Andrew was super. He explained everything very clearly. What he needed to do as well as what my options were. He is very direct which I appreciate. I chose to get a newer used computer. He held my data and old computer. He made short order of transferring data, reloading programs...and again explaining everything clearly to me. He is not condescending given he is a computer expert and I am far from one. He keeps his shop super clean always washing doors counters hands between clients. He even offered to drop my old computer off at CHARM saving me the trip and the fee. So a great shop with honest people. Can't say enough about the service and helpfulness from Andrew at PC Express! Andrew is very knowledgeable, didn't make fun of my tech-ignorance, and is very straight forward - which I definitely appreciate. I was panicking because my 2014 Dell XPS 8700 was making a horrendous noise and then stopped working. I couldn't afford to get a new one (Keith all the specs I need (the prices are ridiculous now), but Andrew looked at it, ran some diagnostics and determined that if I put an SSD in to run my operating system on, I could probably get a longer life on the computer. He installed it, cloned my operating system from the faulty disk drive, cleaned everything up and ran through a couple of remote assists with me after I picked it up - all for a really reasonable price. Given what I spent on the computer to get it the way I wanted, the last thing I wanted to do was to replace it right now. He made it possible for me to get my computer better and running faster than ever. He has also made some suggestions for the future. Hopefully, I won't have any more problems, but if I do, I know where to take it. read more

I don't even have the option of stopping by during the week before or after work because of the bogus hours of 10-5 everyday. I was afraid to take my computer to a store out of fear they would exploit my ignorance. Eventually, I decided to get some professional help, and this guy was right there to bend me over a barrel. My screen was malfunctioning and he charged me $70 to take my screen off (which i later found out only takes 5 minutes) and do nothing. He said he would replace the part, and after a week of no progress, I had to call. He told me he doesn't want to work on it anymore. The guy is unprofessional and incompetent. After wasting my money, I taught myself enough to fix the screen. It took me 30 minutes and a piece of paper. F*** you, PC express. read more
