My laptop just suddenly stopped working. I took it to Shawn's Computer Repairs where Rachel checked me in. She is extremely nice and sharp. Wow. I get why these guys have all 5-star reviews! I had to take my mother's laptop which suddenly stopped working. Shawn said I could stop by any time during biz hours and he could take a look. My computer blue screened and refused to boot up. I tried some of the recommended suggestions for doing a recovery but nothing worked. I took the computer in and Shawn quickly determined that my C: drive was corrupted and tried to do a recovery of data on the C: drive. He gave me an estimate of $300 to do the data recovery but waved the cost when he was unable to recover the data (how often does that happen). Once it was obvious there was no saving the disk drive I had Shawn install a 2TB SSD. What a difference that has made. Thanks Shawn. read more

We took an Asus laptop to Shawn's Computer Repair to have the screen replaced. He estimated the cost at $300. 2 weeks later, he stated the wrong part was ordered but that it wasn't his fault. Approximately 10 days later when we still don't have an estimated repair date so we decided to take the laptop to another shop. We politely asked for the laptop back. Shawn was clearly angry, he snickered and stated that he found it amusing that we thought we knew more about computers than he did. Again, we politely asked for the laptop back. He eventually emerged from the back room with the laptop. Once we were home, we noticed the screen was now cracked and it had been glued on with a wire sticking out. We took it to a national repair group who immediately noted the screen was cracked, glue around the edges and a wire sticking out. Two weeks later we had the laptop back, repaired and the cost was $150. Beware the angry computer repair guy! read more

I had two laptops that for one reason or another where giving me the old blue screen, The first was a inexpensive HP laptop with windows, which I really didn't think there was much hope for, based on the fact it was my then 10 year old sons, who at time handled it more like a football than a computer, and the second was my go to HP chrome book. You may notice a trend here in brand.... just pointing out that almost every HP I have owned managed to go blue 6 months or so after the warranty was over. May be my habit of buying inexpensive computers ... not sure. So, after reading some reviews I decided to give Shawn a try. It was a good choice. Shawn did a few things really well. First he communicated a lot, and did the work quickly. He also gave me a good assessment of what the repairs would probably be , and was very sensitive to the fact that neither one cost over $350, so spending a bunch wouldn't make sense for me. All all ended well, I am typing this on my chrome book which required a new drive. Shawn returned the old one, as well as made a restore flash drive for me, jist in case I ever needed it. Nice service. The shop hours are also great... open until 6, and half a day Saturday. I certainly would recommend Shawn anyone in the area. read more

I always prefer to do business locally and when I had a network and sync problem and saw there was a local computer repair shop in town with great ratings, I didn't hesitate. But nothing went right. Shawn refused to honor a price another employee gave me for a home visit a week earlier. Will was 20 minutes late for an in-house appointment without so much as a phone call. He didn't ask me a single question about the problem I was having but dove right in to deleting programs from my startup folder and downloading other programs without my knowledge or permission. I wanted to know if the network problem was my computer, which was about to go out of warranty, my modem or Comcast. I was even willing to pay Shawn's higher price to find out. To my thinking, you do some diagnostics on the computer, bring along a modem known to work and if it's neither, then it has to be Comcast. Instead, Will spent two hours doing I don't know what on my laptop and with the modem's settings. I couldn't help but think he did this so he could justify charging me for one even though he left my computer and network connection worse off than before. The next morning when I rebooted my laptop, it had a series of memory errors and the modem was frozen. I called the modem manufacturer's Tech Support. They stepped me through a hard reset and in 5 minutes all of my problems were fixed. These guys were a complete waste of time and money. I felt taken. Shame on them for their inability to walk away when they don't know how to fix a problem and even worse, for their self-interest in making money off of it. read more

Shawn is simply great. We contacted him to scan our computer for malware and he performed several other updates and improvements that he found and were needed. It was not inexpensive, but Shawn was very helpful through it all and the work was well done. In addition, after taking the computer home, numerous issues arose with compatibility of accessories that he spent his time on the phone to resolve and even delivered a wired keyboard to help in the interim. All along, he offered to do a home visit if necessary to make any required "adjustments" until it worked as needed. Shawn's computers helped turn my machine around! I was having consistent problem where the computer would lock up not allowing me to move forward with work. Checking the task manager I could see that my memory was consistently at 100% which was crippling my system. I called Shawn's who were very responsive. They came to my office within a day. They found that the problem was more aggressive then what they could fix on-site so they took the machine back to their space. I gave him a budget and said if he could fix it for that price, he had a deal. I made that limit because if the price escalated then I might as well get a new machine! Shawn respected our budget finding a solution that worked for us both. I had my computer back promptly and now its consistently working better. The memory is sitting at 78% right now and hasn't approached 90% since Shawn returned it. Because of his good work refurbishing my computer I save at least $500 on a new machine. We have a security system at our home that we were able to view on satellite laptops. The bridge we were using decided to quit and we could no longer use anything but the main system (very inconvenient and unsafe). We called Shawn and he scheduled us in very quickly. He replaced our bridge and fixed our issue! Unfortunately, a couple of weeks later, our router decided it didn't want to work anymore either.
