To start off I'm still a newbie building PCs thus why I came to this place to get a diagnosis on what I did wrong after I built it. I was told it'll be 60$ in my mind I figured that a decent price because I know it'll be resolved quick well the guy couldn't get it to boot either than swapped out a psu and got it to boot. He said my psu was dead and that I need a new one. I thought it was odd because that psu was from an old build and since I boxed it up and put it away. It couldn't be dead. I went out and bought a new psu because the guy told me he can put in an off brand psu and if I wanted a better one I'd have to wait 3 days for it to arrive. Like i understand it's a small shop but when you have a pc center 15 min away why would you not have good psus in stock? So I went to micro center and got a psu. Plugged it in and was having the same issue with my pc not booting up. Long story short I figured out with the help of YouTube that my motherboard has 2 cpu power plug headers and turns out the small 4 pin plug is for extreme over locking only and there's no need to plug that in. I made the mistake of plugging it in using a spare pcie plug and that's why it wasn't booting. From someone that has way more experience than me I would have thought they would have caught that mistake very quick but nope I ending up paying 90$ instead of 60 and my psu was never dead but ended up spending another 100$ to buy a new psu so in the end shit deal if you ask me. Wayne at PC Center really saved me. I've been working on PCs for many years, even working in computer shops and in IT at certain times...but had an issue I was just not able to resolve -- and was running out of time in order to do so. Basically, I have a fairly rare motherboard that is no longer in production. It is capable of running 4 GPUs & would be extremely hard (and expensive) to replace, given the somewhat-aged hardware it is running. I really didn't want to start over with a new system. When the system completely refused to POST, even after days of diagnosis on my end, I needed to get a new set of eyes & experience on it. Long story short: Wayne took in the PC and spent far more quality time diagnosing the issue than the very modest fee he charged warranted. When he solved the issue I offered to pay him more (as I knew his aid was definitely worth more), but he even politely refused that. His communication was stellar, and I appreciated being able to run the steps I had taken by him & have him explain what else he was going to try. After getting the blue screen of death three times in as many weeks, with the message that said my hard drive was failing, I backed my computer up and decided to get my hard drive replaced. My husband recommended PC Center because he had taken his laptop there for a hard drive replacement a few years ago. They were fast, courteous, and the price they quoted me was the price I paid when I picked my computer up the next day. I brought my computer home, plugged it in and expected to spend hours re-setting everything up and, to my surprise, everything worked just like it did before I brought it in - only faster and no blue screen of death! read more

I rarely use my HP Pavilion but when I noticed it was not holding a charge with the battery, I ordered one directly from HP and got stung! I then, at the suggestion of my husband, took it up to PC Center and they installed a new HP battery and now I am cord-free! Easy to explain things to and really good support. I needed to be able to access the hard drive on an old business computer but due to a broken fan, I wasn't able to pull up a screen. The laptop was probably going to be too old to get a new fan. No problem...he was able to come up with a $15 solution that turned my old hard drive into a portable hard drive that can be pulled up on any working laptop. I had expected a $150-$250 bill but he solved my issue in about 15 minutes for $15. I highly recommend this small business to anyone having computer issues!!! read more

I had the good fortune of recommendation of PC Center by my sister, who saw a coupon, when my PC was in need of help. Saturday, June 7, 2014, I took my treasured desktop for a power module replacement, as had been determined its issue by Mr. Garcia, owner and operator. He provided the costs of labor and parts and said it would be ready in 2 hours. I returned at noon to find it up and running and was thrilled to see it brought back to life. Mr. Garcia is a man of knowledge and integrity. He didn't 'find' other things to fix, as repair businesses have been known to do. I'm extremely pleased w/the results of his service and will be returning, soon to address my soundcard, which seems to have left town. I'm looking forward to all future needs for service at PC Center. You won't go wrong - I recommend Mr. Garcia and his expertise and business ethics very highly. read more

I should have known better than to trust a business with a single review on Yelp. The men at PC Center interrupted me, talked over me, and talked down to me when I tried to explain the issue with my desktop. Overheating. After I dropped it off, trusting that they knew what they were doing, they called me to tell me my computer wasn't overheating at all and that it was just "viruses" which they proceeded to remove (keep in mind, that wasn't work I'd agreed to have done to my computer) and then charged me $90 for it. $90 to remove viruses. That's only a little ridiculous. Not 3 days later, after a weekend of work so I couldn't test it out earlier, my computer shut itself off again, which is typical of overheating. I went to open the temperature program they'd downloaded onto my computer (again, work I didn't ask for) and that program froze my entire computer, forcing me to hard reboot. I called them again only to be told that, no, it's not overheating. It was totally viruses. Why don't I bring it back in? Talking over me, not listening to the issue I'm trying to explain... I did NOT go back to their location. They still have my $90. One of my friends got me in touch with a friend of his who fixes computers. With the installation of 2 fans and a new CPU fan, my computer has been running perfectly for weeks. So, yeah, it was overheating. Actually, if the guys at PC Center had bothered to open my computer, they'd have seen that the CPU fan was too small to function properly. They also didn't bother to test or change fan speeds to keep the computer cooler. Save yourself time, money, and frustration. Don't go to PC Center. EDIT: I was contacted by the business owner and received my money back and an apology. It's nice to hear a business not make excuses and own up to mistakes. read more

I visited the PC center in Westminster. I first stopped in with my laptop. I was inquiring about my battery be4cause my battery would only last for 1 hour. Instead of charging me a diagnostic fee, they educated me that workstation laptops will have a short battery life for the programs I run. I came back with my PC. I was having issues where it would not boot up in normal mode. They were able to fix the boot problem which saved me a bunch of time. The cost was small compared to how much of my time I would have spent trying to fix it which would likely cause me to reinstall windows. Unfortunately, when I got home and set up my video card it, the boot sequence got screwy again. I brought it back that Monday and they confirmed it was my video card that was the problem. They fixed the boot issue again with an update to my Bios. I was not charged for that visit which I soooo appreciate. Oh, and they even did research and told me what video cards I would need if I wanted to replace it. I think Wayne and Brian at PC Center were friendly with service and quick with repairs. I will definitely use them again the next time I am in computer hell. read more

Wow. Best service I have received from almost any business. Spilled coffee all over my gaming PC, they got me in next day at a very affordable rate to tell me what worked and what didn't. When we found out what broke, they let me bring in my own parts and got it done next day AGAIN for a VERY affordable price, all while being very in depth about anything wrong or right happening. I love this place. They don't up-sell or up-charge, they're up-front about what needs to be fixed, and they deliver sooner than their estimated date. The sodder job they did on the power jack has held up nicely, as well as the keypad replacement they did. I went back after 6 months because of my laptop not charging, and it turned out to be my power cord, not the laptop; they lent me a powercord to test it out for a few days, then let me keep it. Let me preface this review by saying I'm a Mac guy, I use to build PC's 15+ years ago with my first job out of college. Hands down these are the guys I will put my trust in with my kids computers! Our kids are PC gamers and actually use them for school too!! I was able to change out the power supply, add an exhaust fan from my previous building experience but was having trouble installing a video card in one of my kids computers (they were pre built). It was a very small mother board, limited space, etc. Brought the PC to PC Center and they figured out how to get a 2 slot video card in where it probably should fit! Their rates are very reasonable, I was honestly shocked about how affordable they are. If you're trying to upgrade something, have a doubt about the install these are the guys to help you! I'm going to upgrade the kids PC's with SSD drives and while I'm pretty sure I could do it myself, I will bring their computers here because I have total confidence in them to do the job right! read more

I've taken 4 different computers to PC Center and have been very satisfied each time. Once my little notebook computer got a horrible virus, another time my laptop hard drive crashed (and they saved much of my data), the third time my son's laptop would not hold any kind of charge. The last time my other son's laptop died and they were very upfront with what could be done (not worth the cost of fixing it). I've always felt I get a very good value for my money there. They always give you good honest advice and on the rare occasion I've had a problem with a computer I bought or got repaired, they fixed it no questions asked. They're very fast, and often have great suggestions on ways to upgrade the computer, but never any pressure. Went in to get an estimate to see what it would cost to fix the back side of my computer. The person at the front desk told me he would look at it and call me back with the cost of replacing the back side of the computer. Day and a half later I get a call informing me that the cost of replacement and labor would be $250.00 dollars. I declined repairs and went to pick up my pc. When I arrived I was told I owed the PC Center $45.00 for diagnosis. I informed the person at the counter that I did not have diagnosis, but simply had a estimate on replacing my back panel. Well needless to say was very upset. Tried to reason with the owner, who just told me sorry cant do anything for you. Bought a Toshiba laptop from BestBuy about a year ago; fully insured including service warranty and support from the Geek techs. One day I boot the laptop and I'm prompted for 'BIOS password' before the machine will proceed. Didn't know it (factory set), couldn't find it (not provided) and Toshiba's Tech Support said they couldn't help me. Took the PC to BestBuy only to find out how worthless the protection/service plan was; even the Geek Squad told me, literally, "we cannot fix it and there's nothing we can do to help you out"!! WOW!!! Called the guys at PC Center and they explained the what & why of it all, my options for repair and FIXED MY PC IN 1 DAY.
