I have been with this vendor for 10 years. Recently, I had my laptop repaired because it was damaged. This laptop was a new one purchased from PC City. Never once have I had any issue with this vendor until recently. I brought my laptop in for repairs. The person who spoke with me there did not believe I had purchased my PC from PC City, and asked me three times in disbelief. This put me off and I wondered why his suspicious was so prominent (Again, I have been a client of theirs 10 years, having bought several computers and upgrades. Like,really?!!). When I went to pick up my so-called repaired laptop, they told me they repaired it with an "essentially new laptop PC" with a different case than the brand new one I brought in. Also, the battery they replaced my so-called "new PC" with was defective as I have to recharge it every THREE hours versus my prior actual NEW Lenovo laptop ( my prior new one charged every 24 hours). I am going to see how they deal with me (I think it's a new employee,but I'm surprised at his suspicion towards a 10-year client), when I bring my unacceptably repaired laptop back to get my actual new PC laptop back. After paying several hundred bucks for a brand new laptop 1-1/2 yrs ago and then paying a few hundred $$$ for repair of my new laptop to be given back one that was not mine, including a defective battery, this customer is ready to contest this service, report to BBB, and as well, not to mention the three-time "Did you buy your computer here? Did you really?..." crap I got when bringing my laptop in for repairs. Overall impression: UNacceptable laptop repair; unacceptable customer service.* Give me back MY computer, please, with the battery that it had BEFORE bringing it in for repairs. Honestly?!! REally?!! Ready for BBB reports if they somehow do not own up. This PC City service is from Broomfield, Colorado, not San Francisco, CA. This client is in Denver, Colorado. Awesome service! I have been assaulting these guys with a recording PC build for the last year. In the end it came down to a defective motherboard. They installed that one twice without charging extra, loaned me 3 PCIe cards to try and did an in home consultation without charge. Of course I tipped them and came back to get a new motherboard installed. You just do not find this kind of service anymore. Props to you! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. In early December 2020 I brought them my laptop to fix. The touch screen had shattered and the metal next to the HDMI port had bent during travel, making it impossible for me to use the computer. When I brought it in they told me they could have a new screen for me and adjust the metal around the HDMI port in a week. I waited a week and no response. I actually had to call them to get an update. When I called, the associate who answered told me that they had ordered the wrong screen and so had to place another order for the right one. I was frustrated but there wasn't anything else I could do. Then he deepened my frustration by telling me it would be ready between 12/30/2020 and 1/2/2021 because of Christmas. I called on 12/30/2020 to see if the part had arrived and the associate told me that now it wasn't projected to arrive until 1/6/2021. Great. So I continued to wait. On 1/4/2021 I got a call that said the part had arrived and the computer was ready for pick up. When I got to the store I noticed right away that the bottom of the screen appeared different. It has a glue substance showing. When I pointed it out to the associate he just shrugged it off and proceeded to tell me my total. I was shocked that he actually expected me to pay full price given the error made by PC City to get me the correct screen. I pointed out that they had ordered the wrong part for me and I should be given some kind of discount. He told me that there was nothing he could do and I just had to pay. The next day I was working on the computer and noticed that my screen is starting to pop out a bit. This was not an issue when I brought the computer in. I called and asked to speak to a manager. He told me that I could bring it in and they could clip it back into place. When I then told him about how I was charged full price even though I had to wait 4x longer than I should have to get my computer, he simply told me that "mistakes happen" and that he would not offer me anything. I then told him that not only did they order the wrong piece and make me wait longer, but that the quality of work was subpar because of the glue in the bottom and the screen popping out. He continued to tell me that he would not do anything for me regarding the price and that he would only help fix the popping-out screen. I think I'm just going to take it to Best Buy and see if they can help me. I wanted to support a non-corporate business, but will never take any electronics I have back to them again. read more

These people are the greatest! I have had 4 computers built by them and they take care of someone like me (who can turn it on but that is as far as I go). Just recently I was working on the computer I am writing this review on and it went dead. The screen told me that I needed the re-boot disk to continue. I thought the hard drive was toast. I took it into them- They have built ALL of my computers and told them that I thought it was the hard drive. They could have very easily sold me a new hard drive and told me anything they wanted and I would have believed them. It turned out to be a cable inside the unit that went bad. They fixed it and got everything back up and running. Since I had the unit built by them and they take great pride in their customer service and their work, they charged me NOTHING! I don't know of anyplace that would do that! I have not bought a "package" computer from any store for years since I found these people and this is a great reason why. They are Honest and great people to work with. I HIGHLY recommend them for all your computer needs , repairs and new equipment. read more
