Recently had some work done on my laptop for a broken screen. Im leaving a negative review because it took three weeks to repair and communication wasnt good at all. I called the shop many times sometimes with an answer and sometimes with no answer. It also cost an additional $20 for a part that was needed(apparently it was broken when trying to make the original screen repair, yeah okay sure it wasnt damaged in the repair process and why is that cost falling on me) and when I picked up the computer the trim around the screen wasnt even attached properly. Thanks. Im also missing the rubber feet on the bottom of my laptop to keep it from sliding around which shouldnt have even been touched because it has nothing to do with the screen. On top of all that now I cant even log into my microsoft account. I was not made aware I should back up my files and now I have to reset my entire computer and lose everything. I use this a ton for work and personal use. Not coming back again and would reccomend others look elsewhere. Update: Tried to call them on monday to talk to someone right when they opened at 10am and then again at 10:05am and no one is answering. I had my MacBook Pro worked on here due to a startup issue. After weeks they finally told me that they needed to put in a new motherboard and battery. After another full week they called and said it was ready. I brought it home and it seemingly worked. I travelled for multiple months and the laptop sat in my room not being used. When I got home I attempted to use my laptop and it wouldn't turn on at all. I brought it back to them and they told me that I needed another new motherboard and that they wouldn't cover or even replace it because I was past the 30 day warranty. They installed a bad motherboard the told me the only solution was to buy a new MacBook from them. I will never go back and I recommend you steer clear of this joke of a business. read more

Guys here were so helpful couple years ago. Not so much now. Charged too much just to look at my laptop, then charged again to help me recover a document (by the minute, 1/2 hour minimum), then when I asked what caused the problem and what I could do if it happened again, he said, "oh we used some technology tools. I'm pretty experienced with a PC, so my trip here was a last resort to get a fix for a software issue. Laptop hardware was fine, but windows wouldn't boot. Not wanting to factory reset from the Dell partition and reinstall all of my software (Dell sets aside a portion of the machine to access recovery options outside of Windows for these types of situations), I took it to these folks because of their history of quick turnaround and good pricing. Their pricing model puts your diagnostic price toward any work or parts, so I paid for the diagnostic so we could get started. While discussing the process, I was informed in super upfront fashion that my goal of preserving my applications was just not going to happen. Having already paid, I took what I learned from them and tried one more thing. They aren't responsible for the miracle of my software booting for long enough to transfer files and record states of configurations, but that's what happened. I still couldn't restore, but I reinstalled Windows after transferring everything and was good to go. When I called them in celebration, they promptly and happily gave me a refund. They were quick, honest, the shop has a nice little treasure trove of peripherals and you can see that they are putting in work based on the view of the workshop. It lasted eight-plus years... so when it was finally going thru its death throes, I returned to Like New PCs for another refurbished desktop computer. Sadly, this one ran great for only six-plus months. Two weeks after its warranty expired, it sputtered... hissed... crackled... and wouldn't boot. I returned to Like New PCs, fearing a costly repair bill at a time I could not afford any unexpected bills. But... the guys there extended my warranty, so all I paid for was the diagnostics to figure out what had happened. Five hours after I dropped off my unit, it was up and running again, at no charge to get it repaired. I am beyond grateful for Like New PC's kindness and ethical business practices. read more

Well to start this adventure off, I took my lenovo laptop into the store by Sams off Wadsworth. It had been running really slow, and audio was chopping up almost every time I got on it.Had them run diagnostics, which they found a bunch of things that they could "fix" (bugs, viruses)I paid for the "fix", and the Antivirus that they provide and picked it up. They also "installed" more RAM to make it faster. I had a family emergency in Illinois so I left kind of in a hurry. Didn't take said laptop because all I really do with it is YouTube. I returned home after 10 days and decided to open it up. First off my keyboard was not only dirty n grimey, it was bubbled up to the point where keys weren't working properly. Took it back to them, (she) fiddled around with my keyboard, and asked if it was better. I said there was nothing wrong with it b4 I brought it in, but apparently I needed to accept the half ass job of putting it in, which is still not 100%. Told me that they really didn't know what else to do. At this point I've paid around $200 for getting it fixed. As Im walking out the store I see a little "wifi booster" or something like that for $20. I asked about it and she told me that it might help. Well it didn't. Lousy customer service by this woman, and absolutely no fix to my problems I had originally brought it in for. Its now slower than ever n I'm out a couple hundred bucks. This is the worst customer service I have received in a long time. I took my Lenovo ideapad in to have it looked at (12/12/20) because the power button suddenly did nothing (couldn't power up the PC). I paid the diagnostic fee. They called the next day and said it was fixed. I went in and got it, and asked what was wrong. They said they couldn't recreate the problem and so they just gave the battery an extra long charge and it seemed to work now. I took it home, the same problem occurred on 12/16/20. I took it back. We received a call on 12/17/20 saying that the motherboard needed to be replaced because the power cord wasn't connecting correctly and the connector was part of the motherboard, not a daughter board, so we would have to replace the whole thing. They had it fixed on 12/23/20 and went to get it. On 1/13/2021 the same problem occurred. Later on 1/13/21 I got a voicemail from Dominic saying it now needed a new battery. My husband called and spoke to Dominic on 1/14/21 and he said that the battery would be $140 in additional to the $347 we had already spent. I called back later that day and talked to Dominic and said I would like to talk to the manager (apparently also the owner) and he said no, that he would help me. I explained that I felt they misdiagnosed the motherboard being the cause, and he told me that they had never misdiagnosed a computer problem. I asked again to have the manager call me, and he gave me a list of reasons why the owner could not call, including, he worked a full time job for another company, he was an essential employee, he was out of town. I told him that he could call me in the evenings or whenever he was off work of his other job, or he could call on a break from his other job, just as I was calling them from my work during a break. Dominic was very rude. I told him I would expect a call from the owner by 5pm Friday. We picked up my computer (still broken) at 1pm 01/16/21 and have still not heard from the owner. I don't know if the owner even was given my message, but regardless, I got no call from him to discuss the problem. Its one thing to have troubles repairing an item, but it is a complete level of bad to have such rude employees who know nothing about customer service. read more

My son dropped his laptop with Like New PC's in mid August.  When he brought it in it was verified by your tech that was was fully functioning and all that was wrong is he was missing three keys.  With this particular laptop you can't replace the keys and need to replace the keyboard.  My son left it with your company and paid for the keyboard part as well as the labor to repair his laptop.  When he called back the following week he was told it would be a few weeks for the part to arrive (which in today's environment we totally understand) and they put the computer back together so he could utilize while waiting for the part to arrive.  However, once back together the screen was not functioning nor was the keyboard.  Your company was going to order a screen to replace the screen that wasn't working properly.  When the keyboard finally came in it was defective so another was ordered. He brought it back in to you all and waited...and waited...and waited. What is frustrating is at no time had anyone from your business ever contacted my son to inform him of progress or delays in the 8 weeks your company had his computer.  He always had to call your business.  He requested a call from the owner on numerous occasions over the past month but has never had a response. Last Friday A*****, who my son said has always been pleasant to work with, stated he would have his new keyboard in that day and he could pick up by Sat or Monday (today) at the latest.  He would just have to use an external monitor for a while. My husband and I arrived into town for a few days and came in with him to pick up what was supposed to be a fixed computer (less the screen) today.  D******* who identified himself as the manager) was at the counter assisting two other customers.  While in the middle of helping the other two he chimed in to our issue.  When I asked for the owners name (as I wanted to speak with you)he didn't want to tell me, then reluctantly said B******.  I then persisted on a last name and he finally said R****** or something like that....does he really not know your name?  He said he would leave you a message and computer should be fixed next week (it's already been 8 weeks).  Also, he said it wasn't his job to prioritize my sons computer into his schedule because he had his own tickets to tend to even though he's the manager and my son's laptop is now 6 weeks overdue for completion and was told it would be partially functioning by today. After several exchanges with D******* in front of the other customers we picked up our laptop and were refunded my son's money (D******* clearly wanted us gone).  While all this was happening we explained to the other customers that they really should think twice before leaving their computer with this company as they never return calls and a fully functioning 2K laptop now has a non functioning keyboard and screen and they have had it for two months.  Oddly, I think they may have still stayed with you until D******'s extremely unprofessional behavior convinced them otherwise to walk out the door. My son had an issue with D******* on another occasion in your store as he was rude and seriously lacks customer service skills. The bottom line is my son is a senior in college and relies on his computer for school.  What was a 2 week process turned into two months with zero communication from anyone in your company.  Very unacceptable service.  And before you respond "water damage" I will also tell you that while I as in town I took this to a reputable pc repair company and after running their diagnostics they determined the issue with the keyboard.  The clip that the keyboard plugs into was completely broken.  This happened while you had this computer.  Once the clip is replaced the existing keyboard will function just fine. read more

I knew about this small business for some time and recently I was on a mission to find a non-working laptop which my 6 year old grandson had been wanting to play with. Also I have several older laptops that need updating so I paid them a visit. The fellow in there was very helpful so I was able to pick up what I needed for just a few bucks. But additionally I looked around and this business does carry refurbished laptops and lots of other stuff. I was told with these older computers usually the best thing is just to replace them as the cost of fixing them is a factor. I left with the impression this would be the place to go to pick up a refurbished laptop when I need it and they can retrieve data from my older devices. Their pricing is quite reasonable and having struggled with computers for a long time I figure I'm better off going to this business for anything I may need. Spending hours dealing with computers along with the frustration (and yelling at inanimate devices) is not for me. Anytime you find a business that is straightforward and reasonable by all means they deserve high marks. At least for me this place is so deserving. read more

I had the DVD burner on my laptop replaced and purchased anti-virus software this morning. Tim professionally replaced my DVD burner while I waited - the procedure took around 15 minutes. Full version: I brought my computer in because the LCD screen was broken. I took it to Like New and they said they could replace to screen and it would take a few days to get the part. I get a call that they ordered the wrong screen for my computer and that they had to order the correct part. I am a graphic designer so I came to pick up the laptop and also bought an external screen (extra $80) while I was there so that I could still work. The computer comes back to me with the screen COMPLETELY busted up and ruined even though when I brought it, the screen was working except for in one single spot in the middle. The right side of the border of the screen was also falling off which I wrote off and assumed when they put the new screen on, they would also correct this issue. Fast forward, the computer works but the issue with the border never was corrected. This lead to much worse issues as I could no longer close the laptop due to that Like New never put the screws back into the screen and it never sat flush again. This caused the hinges on my laptop to become weak and now half of the screen is barely hanging on. The manager Brandon called me when I asked if they could correct these issues caused by the half-assed original repair. Brandon blamed the broken hinges on the original screen damage even though he never looked at the computer. I'd give no stars if I could. Fix the issues you guys cause if you cause them. We understand that repairs sometimes aren't perfect but own that this was caused by your shop and don't charge people to fix mistakes made by your own employees. read more

The shop itself is a disorderly mess. My desktop was returned, still not working, with a dent in the cabinet and a couple of scratches.

Last September, my hard drive crashed. I took my computer to Like New PCs in Arvada. After a few trips, they were able to recover my data and, in general, I was pleased with their service. After they backed up my information, I also had them replace my hard drive with a 1TB SSD. My computer worked fine without any issues until I traveled in early March. I brought my laptop on this trip but did not use it; it was in my backpack the whole time - mostly sitting in my hotel room. After returning to Colorado, I received the following messages when I tried to use my computer "...Media test failure, check cable...Operating System not found. When I googled this issue, the most common fix was to check for a loose connection. Since I am not confident with working on the components of my computer, I called Like New PCs on March 29th and spoke with Zach. He said he might have time to look at it if I brought it that day. I live in Silverthorne which is over an hour away. When I got there, he said I had to pay a diagnostic fee and they would need my computer for 24-48 hours. I explained where I lived and asked if he could check the connections while I was there to possibly save me the time driving back and forth. He said he could not, so I left my computer. I received a phone call on the 31st. Zach said the screws that should hold my SSD in place were not installed and asked me about the mouse pad not working. I was not concerned with the mouse pad and he said he would call me back after he finished running the diagnostics. The diagnostics did not reveal any further issues. He said I would not be charged for the labor to install the screws. I asked about being refunded the $70 diagnostic fee since they had not installed the SSD properly. He said their policy only provides a 30 warranty, but he would ask the owner. When I returned to pick up my computer, there was no mention of refunding the diagnostic fee, so I asked if he had discussed it with the owner. I was told that I could not be refunded because they had to follow policy. I understand policies; however, I think it is extremely poor customer service to charge a customer for diagnostics when you did not install a component properly. read more

Brought my computer in that was not powering on. They called and told me the power supply was fine and they would continue to look at it until they found the problem. They called again and said the power supply was bad and needed to be replaced. I said okay. After about 20 minutes they called a third time and told me I had a bad power button. I asked if that was the original problem. they tested my power supply AGAIN and it was fine. They were trying to charge me almost 200 bucks for a cheap button. I told them to put everything back together and i would take it to someone else. Now i still have to pay them 60 bucks just to get my still broken computer back. Took my custom build in for the blue screen from windows. Lost my setup which was ok/whatever just get it back to running I can do the rest. Ok we will see what we can do . . . A day later ok got windows up but we weren't able to save everything, 135$. Ok that's fine appreciate the work, goes down again didn't even get pasted the anti virus download. Alright I need this checked again it's not fixed, I simply tried to download my programs again and couldn't. Could you please load the drivers and anti virus because that's where I'm having the issue. (Another tech) I told him what he needed to do in order to properly check it but apparently he didn't, no worries I will run it. Awesome thanks, NOPE Got the same tech on it AGAIN!!!!! This time he found when it was built my buddy left the plastic cover on the chip and applied thermal paste to it . . . Whew something small. He calls me to tell me this, ok can download my drivers and such . . . No I've been stress testing the processor for over an hour now it's fine. OooKk thanks! Get the comp home, got everything loaded in fine!!! Awesome, I started using two programs while updating my drivers since there just happened to be an update . . . BOOM!!! AGAIN!!!!!!! Take it up there and make a simple request KEEP THAT TECH OFF MY COMPUTER PLEASE!!!!!!! He simply won't listen to my issues I'm having and my computer is still broke. After dropping my computer off for a third time I get a call from the same tech I requested to not be involved because fuck my time is being wasted RIDICULOUSLY DUE TO HIS FUCKING EGO!! So now I paid 135.00$$ for what is noted in their store for 69.99 diagnostic and they wanna save me money on fixing my comp with a build that is anywhere from 300-500 but 100 of that is labor and 200 is warranty . . . Are you fucking high??? So a processor, board, ram and case is gonna be 200$ tax included???? Thieves watch out people. It really sucks when you try and give small businesses a chance and you have to go through this much BS. Even worse when your over hearing how another customer bought one of their rebuilt computers hours ago and already went down just to have their employees tell them well I will get to when I have a chance I'm sorry your pressed for time but we have other issues of importance to handle . . . I've brought both my computer and phone to LikeNewPCs. For computer fixes, I think they're great. For phone repairs, they tend to take longer than normal phone repair services simply because they have a lot on their plate with other devices and computers. I think it's just an understaffed crew.
