I was visiting Denver in September when my laptop monitor became unhinged and would not close. I was so stressed about it because I had a flight home in a few days. I first called Best Buy (where I purchased the laptop) for emergency help and they were not very helpful. No WAY would I go here again. I brough an external hard drive in to have it repaired. Would they likely be able to fix it? Sure...no problem. I needed a one day turnaround (by end of day Friday) so I could retrieve some work files. I paid an expedite fee $100-ish to have someone (Dave) evaluate the problem. I called several times during the day that Friday. When I finally heard back from Dave at 2:50 PM he mentioned that he would not be able to fix the problem. Too late for me to do anything in time for my business trip. But he met his commitment/SLA to evalauate the issue simply was unable to fix the problem. Big fat pisser but I get it. And so I got on with life work, etc travelling three out of the next four weeks. Tech Hub is closed on weekends and I coldn't get in to pick up my hard drive and get it repaired. The REAL problem was 31 days later. Or 34 days later really when I checked my voice mail to find that Dave had left a message that previous Wednesday afternoon, June 22nd) saying that if I did not come in and pick up my hard drive by Friday June 24th he would delete ALL the data. Apparently they have a 30 day pickup requirement. I had no idea, it's no where on their website, this is the first I had heard of it. But unfortunately for me, I go this message on Saturday June 25th and FREAKED OUT. This isn't any data mind you. That hard drive has my entire life on it. Baby photos for both kids, ALL my pictures, every single work sample, highly sensitive data. And exactly how he was planning on deleting my data? I have no idea. Because he was unable to access it in the first place. Drop it from an airplane? Back over it with a car? Melt it? Who knows. After leaving two voice mails and one email pleading with tech hub not to do anything with my hard drive I didn't hear back. The suspense is killing you, I know. When I was finally able to call Monday morning, June 27th they confirmed that they did still have my hard drive and that I could come and pick it up. PHEW. So fortunately I still have all my baby photos, work evidence, anything and everything digital that means anything to me. But would I EVER entrust these guys again with their dirty little tactics with my entire digital life? Nope. read more

I brought my desktop computer into the store with a display issue and payed $100 for a diagnosis. I was told it would take up to 5 business days to diagnose the issue. Late on the final day the owner informed me that it was a motherboard issue and that piece would need to be replaced. After picking up the computer, I noticed that the HDMI input cord to the front panel was broken. When I brought this to the owners attention he insisted it was already broken when it was brought in (it wasn't) and that I must have broken it, but regardless he would fix it with a piece from the manufacturer free of charge. As it turns out the manufacturer doesn't make the part anymore so it will remain broken. He offered to buy an extension cord which is more of a patch job than an actual fix and I won't give my computer back to their technicians (more on why below). I ended up spending $170 on the new motherboard and installing it, but the computer still didn't work. After calling and complaining that the diagnosis was incorrect the owner proceeded to argue with me on the phone for 10 minutes saying that as a small business they could only spend so much time and money diagnosing the computer, before conceding that he would take another look and actually give me a thorough diagnosis. After another few days I was informed that the CPU was actually the broken part (after being assured over the phone earlier that this part wasn't the issue). After spending another $160 on a new CPU the computer began displaying on screen. I doubt the motherboard was actually the issue. After turning on the computer it turns out that the microphone input port on the front panel no longer works and is probably related to the technician breaking the HDMI cable earlier since they go to the same panel, and it was working when the computer was dropped off. So in total my experience included, 2 weeks of frustration, 4 trips to the store, 2 condescending conversations, $ 430, and 2 components broken by the technicians. I am better off cutting my losses than returning and damaging my computer further due to gross incompetence. TLDR: Take your business elsewhere because TechHub will do the bare minimum possible and when they damage your computer further, will just blame you and say they are not at fault. read more

I called them about 30 minutes before they were closing to get an iPhone screen fixed. I explained my situation that usually I could deal with the screen being broke but it was so bad I wasn't able to use maps or the touch screen navigate to the airport the next morning being that I was traveling from out of town with my girlfriend and unfamiliar with the area. They were very sharp in listening to my exact situation couldn't really wait (rather than saying, "Wait, can you repeat that again?) and I so I quickly brought in my phone. The main guy (I think he is the owner?) used to work at Apple and knows his stuff inside and out. He was very detailed about making sure the screen and case I wanted were aligned perfectly. It was very easy to tell he was passionate about his work along with educating me in plain english on the process since I was asking questions so that was really cool. Anyway, they were also very friendly and CLEARLY more knowledgeable than anyone else I've dealt with. Thank GOD for TECH HUB!!! Let me start by saying that my laptop was in worse than BAD shape. Like- I almost office spaced it in the alley with a bat - but decided to call Tech Hub first to see if they had any insight. I dropped my mac book off and paid the expedited fee to have it inspected immediately- which they did within an hour of my departure from their underground cave of wonders - and when Dave called to tell me that my computer was basically running on its last spinner he said I was lucky it even started up for him to diagnose the problem. I had a faulty hard drive - due to the model of my computer, and it was failing. The external hard drive I had brought with the machine was also failing upon inspection. UGHH I was not happy to hear that my "backup" drive was about to die AND my machine too. But I was so STOKED that Dave told me he could help. Like, A LOT. He recovered the majority of the data from BOTH my hard drive and my laptop. He also installed a solid state drive to help the machine run faster and more efficiently. LIFESAVER. I am a freelance photographer and my computer and data are my life. And he also suggested that I use an external desktop hard drive (that will never move from my desk, I promise!) to keep all of my work safe and secured. When I picked my computer up, Dave even gave me a little tutorial on how to safely use the new equipment before he sent me on my way. Our external hard drive would not open up on any device so we dropped it off here for a quote. We weren't in a rush to get it fixed so we dropped it off on a Monday and they got back to us the following Monday with the issue it had. The no rush diagnostic took 5 days and it was free. Our hard drives connections/plastic casing went bad and they replaced the hard drive external component. They fixed it within 2 business days for $99.99. We used their check in coupon for 10% which was really nice! Overall I am happy with the service and so thankful we got all our pictures back! read more

Full disclaimer - I received no repair work from these guys, but would like to commend them on taking care of me when I lost my phone. Someone brought it to them after finding it, in a yard, post Sound Tribe (thanks to them as well for not swiping it!), he got in touch with my roommate (I put his number in as a contact in case it got lost, so it would show up on the lock screen - potential life saver), and let me know it was safely in their shop. Even charged it up for me! Friendly folks in the shop, and while I can't attest to their technical know-how, they'll take care of you. Prices definitely reflect knowledge and care in your problem or product. Dave has fixed my busted ass iphone4 a couple times for water damage - fixed, not needlessly replaced components. They've never expressed any sort of impatience or "over it" attitude when I came back multiple times for the same kinds of issues. They're thorough. They're handsome. They have an office dog. If you live or work near downtown, uptown, lodo, rino, 5 points, curits park, north cap hill, east highlands, lohi, platte, brighton blvd (even globeville/elyria-swansea), golden triangle, auraria campus, speer, this this place is well worth the try for any iphone/mac/electronics shit. The downside is parking downtown, but if you set up an appt, it's pretty easy to double park for a minute, run in, and get out. read more

Went in for my broken screen, left with a fixed screen + a couple other problems. Took it back in right away because my front camera was completely blacked out (before I went in it was just a bit blurry). They fixed that right away. Then I get home and realize my mic was broken, pure static when I recorded videos, couldn't record voice chat on texts anymore, couldn't talk on speaker when I had a call. Took it back in a few days later, waited a couple hours- seemed to be fixed. A day later mic was broken again. At this point I'll just take it into Apple, no desire to drive back there & get something fixed that you guys broke in the first place. My broken screen got fixed which I'm grateful for, but I shouldn't have to have my mic broken in the process. Super kind staff, but I wouldn't recommend coming here. Screen led is dimmed & laggy now. Should've just gotten a new phone all together. read more

I find this place to be expensive. Normal turnaround time for diagnosis is 5 days but will provide 24 hour diagnosis service for $74.00. I am used to 2-4 hour free diagnosis or charges being applied to repair costs. Diagnosis and repair estimates were also high. I guess being in LoDo they can get away with slow expensive service. I had my iphone screen repaired. They were able to get me in quickly and it only took two hours, but it cost a bit more than the average screen repair. Then, a few days later , I pressed the home screen button and the screen cracked. I never dropped my phone, I literally just pressed a button. I emailed the company and I asked if they could replace the screen because there was no reason the screen should spontaneously crack a few days later. They responded saying they could only offer me a 20% discount. I figure it's not worth even paying that, if the quality of the repair will only result in me having to pay more money again. read more

FIRST and foremost WOW !!! Tech Hub is simply the best repair for MacBook Pro and many devices in Colorado. The team at Tech Hub have worked at the Genius Bar at Apple etc etc.. BUT, they actually have the ability to get your problem resolved not ship it out for 2 weeks while your business sits in idle or you buy a temp MacBook. Apple Store has the worst repair policy for small one computer businesses. SECOND: The fees at Tech Hub for repairs are beyond fair and are 20 to 30% lower than 8th Street Mac Repair and 5 more highly rated Apple Repairs shops in the Denver Metro area. The owner Dave is extremely knowledgeable and has a resolution for everything. He shocked me the evening he kept our company laptop for less than 15 hours, repaired thoroughly cleaned up all the extensions, unauthorized downloads clogging the computer to not work at all. AND we did NOT pay for express service like ALL repair shops in Denver gouge you for. We have had our MacBook for 5 years we were certain we had to buy another. Dave did not laugh but was very clear that would be a mistake when the MacBook we have was fine. Dave suggested a SSD ( Solid State Drive) I was positive this would be a 500 to 750.00 parts with labor $1000 install. Nope, $299.00 including install plus the mount to hold the old 500 GB HD in the CD location 49.00, and other parts 29.00. The bill should have been $377.00 plus tax. NOPE We have a BRAND NEW computer 338.02 including Tax. Try that ANYWHERE and you will pay much more. Dave gave a 10% discount for having done business with him in shop the week before. The kind of service and expertise Dave and his team give is so good, Im just wondering how long we will have them in Denver before someone thinks they can make them an offer they cant refuse. Don't think about it, drive over now if you have issues with anything regarding smart phones, Mac's and many other tech devices. The late drop off and early pick up thing is unbelievable by the way. They are SOOOO accommodating. Too accommodating, they need their down time as anyone does. My next purchase is a 1 hour course in organizing my MacBook files for more efficient safe use for our company. If I purchase the instruction within 60 days of purchase another 50% off. Amazing. Dave saved us 2200.00 by not having to buy a new computer. Im a person whom is so critical and tired of poor service EVERYWhere and NEVER review anyone, because I expect good service in the first place. Dave is an absolute pleasure to work with. Extremely knowledgeable but fully capable of explaining in layman's terms how he will evaluate your computer's problem, and once he's diagnosed it provide options for repairs. In my case, my 1.5 yr old Asus laptop suddenly began to run very slowly and eventually it would freeze up completely. After talking with Dave on the phone and bringing my laptop to his location, he performed a diagnostic on it that afternoon and by the end of the day had a recommendation for repair. Since he determined that my 1 TB hard drive was beginning to fail, and considering how much space I was actually using on the old drive, he recommended replacement with a 250 GB solid-state drive. He indicated it would cost $250 to replace, including labor and cloning of all of my apps and data over to the new drive. In checking other repair shops to do the same thing, it was obvious that Dave was offering a really great deal. I would highly recommend him to anyone! read more
