Overall I give 5 stars to all the staff that helped me at Payless Kitchen. Bassel, Omar and Salvador did an amazing job helping with my kitchen renovation. Bassel my project manager was very professional and patient with me. We had many bumps in the road and every time something came up Bassel would find a solution to fix it. If I needed something he would respond back in a timely matter. He kept me updated, explained procedures and what to expect with the renovation every step of the way. He was able to work with me to get the kitchen I envisioned. I really appreciate all the hard work and dedication he put in to getting me my dream kitchen. Omar was our counter installer and he was amazing he took his time and explained in detail how there was a huge flaw in my kitchen design I had not noticed in the 3 D design. Omar was able to make suggestions how it could be fixed and Bassel was able to get it all worked out. Omar did a superb job with the counter installation he took the time to walk through with me and make sure everything was perfect. In addition, he made suggestions of how to clean and maintain my counter I really appreciated that. Salvador was our tile installer and he was very flexible with his schedule he took the time to fix my tile exactly how I wanted it. I appreciate his hard work. The staff at Payless kitchen is great the only thing I did not like is how my kitchen renovation budget kept on increasing every time I would notice something I didn't like or something was off with the design. Bassel would work with me in getting me the best price but I am still not happy about the fact that my kitchen was more expensive than I expected or was quoted on. I hired Payless Kitchen Cabinets, Bath & Flooring to do a simple vanity re-model for the master bathroom. This was the worst nightmare I have ever experience with a licensed contractor. They damaged my new hardwood stairs by trying to bring the old vanity down in one piece so they would re-sell it even when I told them it would not fit and would damage the stairs walls. Once the damage was done, they tried to cover it up with stain, so I would not notice. During demo, I have never had more extensive un-necessary damage. The vanity they installed was not the one I ordered, and the middle drawer is different then the rest, but the installed and left with what they considered a finished job. The vanity was uneven and patched molding. They installed the mirror off-center, I had to have him re-do it three times. They broke the vanity light and insisted they did not. The Sr. Project manager (Caroline Sakayan) is very unprofessional and speak right over you not allowing you to finish your sentence, but is very good at making excuses as to why the damage or sloppy work, but not scheduling to fix. Exceeding expectations! We were fortunate to find Payless kitchen cabinets when doing our kitchen remodeling- great quality, service, and price. Adam was extremely informative and helpful, he helped us in finding the right product that fits our design and budget. I have been holding back on leaving a review of Payless Kitchen in bath with the hopes of my project manager getting back to me first. We contracted Sean during the beginning of August to complete a full kitchen remodel (minus demo which I would complete). The sign up process was straight forward and the financing is what attracted us to PK&B. Andy did do a good job with the cabinet but I don't like that there are nails that can be seen above my cabinets, multiple imperfections above the cabinets and a very concerning cabinet install near the dishwasher which I had the dishwasher guy correct. Countertop team did great, was very well organized and especially clean and on time. The backsplash guy was AWESOME! He was probably the best part of our experience with Payless Kit and bath. The gentleman was organized, clean, prepared, and detailed. He ended the job in excellence and the backsplash looks amazing. Lastly, comes the project manager she met our needs and project vision. Update: review was edited after meeting with Sean (week of November 13th) about previous issues and having them corrected as soon as possible. We had been planning to get our floors remodeled for a while now. We looked around for a bit before calling Payless. Sean came over on a cold and wet Saturday morning for a consultation. He was perfectly on time and very pleasurable even though he had to trudge down all the way from North LA to South OC on a Saturday morning. He gave us a great presentation with visualized images of our desired floor. These images were our rooms with our desired flooring. This made the decision easier for us to make. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Be careful the take advantage of elder people on a budget. My parents just had their kitchen done which took over 2 months. They were left with a completely empty kitchen for over a 2 months. It has taken over 3 weeks for outlets covers to be put back on. There was outlets in the kitchen island that they refused to but back they stated there was no electrical in the contract. If they took it out they should be able to put it back. There are still two outlet on the wall that are left uncovered because they did not cut the holes right. Which is being let for my parents to figure out because Andy did not have the right tools to get the job done. Be careful dealing with Catherine who is always in meeting and takes weeks to give you a black and white print out of what your remodel will look like. Caroline the supposed supervisor will only listen to her employee's never once apologizing for her company mess up or let me take care of that for you. It was always we need the final payment. When asked for a supervisor to come to the house to do a final inspection we were denied this for which there was no need for one Andy would take care of it. Well Andy left two outlets still uncovered because they did not do the cuts right. This company is a botch company please be very careful read more

The team at Payless that I worked with included a visit from a sales person (Adam Alnasr) who was very friendly and thorough in explaining my options as far as design and material. I was then transferred to a project manager (Diane Pabilona) who very patiently answered my questions and followed up on every step of the project. The cabinet team was the greatest part of the process (headed by Arayik) who was instrumental in adding little touches that made a difference in the functionality of the kitchen. He was quick, efficient, and his work was flawless. The countertop installer Gagik and the backsplash installer Salvador were also great and personable. There were some delays and miscommunications on the way, but overall I had a great experience with payless kitchen and would recommend them to my friends and family! read more

If you wish to use this company, be prepared to self-manage the entire process. Though they give you a "project manager", this person does not have a good sense of what's going on at the site itself, and basically just acts as a scheduler. I hired a company so that I would not have to deal with project management, but I ended up having to. They also still subcontract out the work to different people for different pieces, which leads to communication issues. I will give my LONG saga here in case it helps. I had a virtual consult & was offered a deal for signing same day. I will say that this company was the most reasonably priced that I spoke with, and since I wanted the security of working through a licensed company, I decided to do it. However, they don't provide you with an itemized list of costs so you don't really know what you're paying for to see if it's actually reasonable or not. The shower material included in their estimate, is an artificial plasticy material. I was told during the consult that this looked/felt like tile, but I can assure you it doesn't. I was upset when I received the sample, and they offered to install tile at the same price, as long as I provided the tile. This was the first of unexpected costs, but I agreed because the original price estimate that I had was pretty reasonable, and I REALLY hated that material. I also decided to demo myself to save costs. Before demo, I floated the idea of a different floor plan, which involved moving a toilet and moving from textured drywall to flat & was quoted a small enough change cost to go for BOTH changes (hit my max budget but made all the difference). I was ECSTATIC, signed the change orders, then demoed, including removing the walls. I then was told my project manager was changing. The new project manager informed me that the price I was quoted for the change was incorrect, and that it wasn't $500 to move the plumbing/toilet & $1350 for drywall costs - it was $2850 for the toilet move PLUS $1350 for drywall. Despite having the original quote in writing from the previous project manager, and the change order that I had signed to that effect, the company REFUSED to honor that or to bargain the cost due to their error. In short, I ended up subcontracting that work out on my own - for less than half the cost - but they cost me time & money by misquoting me. Next, tilers. The tilers had to redo the shower layout twice (because the guy made up his own "option" for a fix after I had told him explicitly how I wanted it fixed, and then had to use even MORE tile to design it how I wanted), and fix the shower cubby, which was installed the first time SO slanted that anything wet would have immediately slid out. After they ran through my reserve, they still needed a few extra pieces of bullnose, which the company did credit me for. It was still a hassle, of course, reordering and picking up extra tile. Next, the floor. The guy complained about laying meshed pieces, saying they're difficult to space, and left wide gaps in spots. I asked for those to be fixed multiple times before they grouted. I feel that request was ignored, but it's liveable. Not to mention that I had to keep reminding them to wear masks. Ok, job done. I start the rest. I go to install baseboards, lean against the tub and it completely pulls away from the wall/floor! I sent videos to the PM. I also told her the floor had some uneven spots, i.e. spots where the grout had holes in it or wasn't at same level as others. I was told that could be fixed. I had to follow up several times to get scheduled for them to fix the tub & put 2nd layer of floor grout. Next day, floor grout was patchy (dark where the new grout was; light where the OG was). PM assures me the grout is just wet and will dry evenly. A few days later I sent her another picture showing that was not the case. She schedules this guy again. He scraped off as much of the new grout as he could after explaining to me that because it was new over old that was causing the problem (should have told me that in the first place then maybe I wouldn't have done it!!!). There are still issues with the consistency of the grout color of the floor, though it's liveable. Is it a $12,500 job though? I don't think so. What also really bothered me was that every time there was a mistake on their part the PM never apologized - and worse, most of the time acted like I was irritating HER. In the end, it looks good, but I really feel like I paid much more than necessary, especially considering how painful the process was. The only bright spot was the shower door installers, who came on time, wore masks, and do quality work. The bathroom came out beautifully, despite the patchy floor, but honestly that's because of me, not them. If you are really good with project management, and know construction terms/processes, you might have a better experience, but that probably means you can hire contractors on your own for a fraction of the cost. read more
