I will start my review of Pavone roofing with Mr. Pavone's own wording "I don't gamble with people homes". I needed a roof replacement earlier this year and contacted a few roofing companies through Yelp. I personally met with a few licensed roofing companies representative/owners/roofers along with Pavone Roofing (Skip). Some were extremely pushy and trying to upsell things I didn't even ask for, some were difficult even to communicate, some were late to the appointment, and some were just about the business of making/milking money. I also met Mr. Pavone who was the opposite of everyone I met before. He was on time, calm, presentable, genuine, not pushy, easy to communicate, respectful, and didn't mention anything about money. I immediately felt at ease with him specially after his wording "I don't gamble with peoples homes". So, to make it short, after a couple of more meetings, I accepted his quote and signed the contract to re-roof the front house and repair the back unit's roof. Mr. Pavone was extremely patient. We wanted to replace the roof in April but due to some issues, we had to wait. Mr. Pavone accepted the new dates despite his fully booked schedule. After the roof Replacement/repair by his subcontractor, the rain started and we found out that water was standing on two areas of the main house's roof and a leak in the back unit. It was late at night when the tenant informed me of the water leak. I called Mr. Pavone and left a message for him (around 10:45pm). I couldn't wait until the next day so, I got a help from another contractor from Yelp to put a tarp on the back unit's roof to prevent further leak. Mr. Pavone called me very early in the morning and soon after, while was very ill with flu, came to the property. He took the tarp off, took some pictures and advised that we should wait for a couple of days to dry out (based on forecast, the weather would be clear for a few days). Two days later, exactly as he promised, he brought his subcontractor and was on the roof to oversee his subcontractor. He also, as courtesy, added another downspout on the other side of the back unit (not part of contract). He offered me the payment that I made to the other contractor who came and placed the tarp but based on my observations of his professionalism (going above and beyond), I didn't accept the payment. There are not enough words to express my sincere appreciation of Mr. Pavone (Skip) but simply I can say that he is a rare jewel, extremely genuine, honest, respectful, and a kind person who puts the needs of others before his. I hired Pavone Roofing to replace our roof in the winter of 2023. After getting over 8 bids, they were the best price and had no high pressure sales tactics. Skip and his team were very communicative and always on time. They took a project that was supposed to last 1 week and finished in 2.5 days because of all the rain we received this year. Had a great experience with Skip from Pavone Roofing today. With the recent heavy rains our roof developed a small leak. We invited Skip from Pavone to examine the leak. Skip showed up on time and climbed up on the roof to investigate and came back 20 min. later saying that the leak was caused because a small debris of leaves/needle was acting as a dam that blocked a channel causing water to pool and eventually penetrate the roof and leak. Skip cleared the debris and since no actual roof work was needed he did not ask for payment. A great experience overall. read more

Skip (The owner) did a great job estimating, scheduling, and overseeing his crew. I've had to call him back for minor clean up/repair/missed items, he has responded quickly every time, addressing all issues professionally and with care. I was on the fence between 4 and 5 stars though, due to the dozens of nails and cigarette butts (yuck!) sprinkled around the entire lot. Skip did come over afterwards with a magnet broom and did the best he could to clean up, owning up to the crew and making a great effort. I'm still finding nails and cigarette butts around the backyard, and I'm thinking its a little bit of a necessary evil when re-roofing your house. Another recommendation to home owners who wish to change their front roof façade/trim boards: CLEARLY request oversized boards before the job starts, otherwise the crew may puzzle together non-contiguous stretches of facade from short 8ft trim boards. The crew doesn't care if you want a perfectly smooth and contiguous facade because its not their house. After some complaining, the right-sized boards were delivered. Skip did give me a credit for T&M spent on the mistake, though maybe not 100%. I'm still grateful for the work and would totally hire Skip/Pavone Roofing again. Next time, however, I would just be more clear around my needs ahead of time, and go over potential/expected T&M costs so no one is surprised afterwards! read more

Skip Pavone is one of these guys. He's been in the business for years, and knows his stuff. He is licensed and insured and has a crew that can communicate effectively and bilingually, as well as do the work efficiently and properly. I had a great experience with Pavone Roofing. I needed a detached garage re-shingled within a 2-week time period and Pavone roofing was able to deliver. Using yelp, I requested additional quotes and all came back more expensive than Pavone roofing. The quotes from individual contractors, whom actually do their own work, came back slightly to moderately more expensive. The quotes from the large roofing companies all came back moderately more expensive. The inspection was very thorough and extra time was spent to climb on my roof to inspect every aspect of the roof. Not all of the contractors who came out to provide a quote did as thorough of an inspection job. As a result, some of the other contractors quoted additional work which was a nice to have but not necessary. The team that came out was a 1 or 2 person team since my job was small; since the overhead was small, it helped considerably with the cost. Communication was excellent. To help with the decision process, Pavone roofing came by with a tile sample panel to help me select the colors. All conversations were smooth and pleasant and all work follows Covid-19 business guidelines for contractors. As outlined in the quote, the job was completed on-time and the workmanship was guaranteed for 10 years from the completion date. For the shingles I selected, the manufacturer's warranty was for 50 years. Overall I am very pleased with result especially with the quality and the ability of Pavone roofing to accommodate my time frame. read more

We found a piece of 6"x7" roof shingle in the backyard after the recent storm. Anthony (Skip) came to inspect our roof. He found where the piece of shingle was missing. He said it will not cause a leak because there's no seam underneath. He also said he could glue the shingle back but it was really not necessary and it would only be cosmetic. He spent almost 30 mins to inspect our roof for free and gave us suggestions on what to do when we replace the roof. He was very patient and answered all our questions in detail. It was a really good experience. Skip arrived on time and immediately clarified who he is from the business card. He identified the problem areas with my brief explanations, and showed the best way to approach the problem points.
