12.11.2025 Wow, their matcha latte is delish! I had it w/Oatmilk. No added sweetener

12.11.2025 Thank U Yelp for guiding me here!!! I happened to be in the area & was heavily craving a warm matcha tea drink. I looked up locations that provided matcha & ran across this tiny gem! I almost was desperate to go to SB that is in the plaza where Taco Bell & Raleys is.... GLAD I DIDN'T!.!.!.! I am soO happy to explore different coffee houses & this is another gem I randomly found! I saw on their menu there is strawberry matcha & a banana flavored one. That looked intriguing, but bcuz it is currently December, I will visit when it gets a bit warmer or if I am in the mood for a cooler drink I will visit here for the other flavors. Its very cute and relaxing inside & comfy feeling. Definitely recommend if your close by! I am very satisfied with how they made their matcha!!! I will bring my husband here since he is a coffee drinker!

Discovered a new location of a local group I like. Nice seating available with ample patio seating with a lot of shade on a nice deck. Others are fair, and I do love their iced Summer Peach tea. Good WiFi as I did a little work inside. Parking is limited on the side in a private lot. Ramp at entrance is well made for foot traffic or other needs.

Good latte! We love Loomis Plenty of seating flat white and cortado is great too.Very nice cashier !

Small town vibes with the most amazing baristas. Always make you feel some sort of way. The Latte art is whatever but the coffee gives any other coffee shop a run for their money. Will be coming back.

Came in for a quick cappuccino and a cheese danish while I was in the area. This local coffee spot has a very relaxed vibe to it and the workers were very friendly! I would definitely come here again the next time I'm in the area!

Pause Coffee House in Loomis is one of those places that immediately makes you feel welcome. They offer a great variety of coffees, teas, and refreshing specialty drinks like lemonade. Their treats look delicious (and taste just as good), making it a perfect spot to grab a snack alongside your drink. The vibes here are relaxed and inviting, whether you're hanging out inside or enjoying the outdoor seating. It's a cozy space for catching up with friends, reading a book, or just taking a moment to yourself. The staff are always friendly and get drinks out quickly, even during busier times. One of my favorite things about Pause is their selection of local merchandise -- especially the Chai from North Fork Chai Co., which is hands-down my favorite. It's great to see a local business supporting other local makers. If there's one downside, it's that they close at 4 PM -- which totally makes sense for a coffee shop, but it does make it tricky to swing by after work. In all honesty, though, that might be saving me from spending all my money here! Pause Coffee House is a true hidden treat in Loomis, and absolutely worth a visit.

It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread. We don't venture to Rocklin on a regular basis, but when we do, it's nice to know where to go and to support a small business like this. Give them a try. You will be impressed too!

We ordered Fish Tacos, Prime Rib Sandwich, Chicken Cider Sandwich and Peach Salad. Each dish was very good, my fish tacos were stacked with perfectly grilled fish and the sauce was very delicious. The side salad and potatoe salad was also satisfactory. We enjoyed our meal and the experience but found the price rather high for the value. $19 for a simple peach salad seemed rather steep and the portion was not very large. Overall, this is worth checking out as the venue is very nice and the food quite good but I'm not sure if I would come back as the price tag is rather high.

A Friday Night Home Run at Penryn Grill!…read more This was our third visit to Penryn Grill, and someone suggested we come back on a Friday night for the clam chowder and fish & chips. Let me just say...it was absolutely worth the return trip! First, the clam chowder. My wife gave it a 10 out of 10, and that's saying something because she's a self-proclaimed clam chowder snob. She rarely finds a chowder that can compete with her favorite spots in Monterey. Well...hallelujah--we finally found one! The bread bowl deserves its own standing ovation. It tasted like fresh sourdough that had just come out of the oven--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. Normally you finish the chowder and leave most of the bread behind. Not this time. I ate every single bite of that bread bowl. It was simply scrumptious. The fish and chips were equally impressive. They served a huge plank of fish that was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. Too many restaurants hide a tiny piece of fish under a mountain of batter, leaving you feeling disappointed (and overly full). Not Penryn Grill. The fish was fresh, flaky, and outstanding. In fact, it was the first time in our 43 years of marriage that I've seen my wife finish every bite of her fish and chips! The chips were another pleasant surprise. Instead of the usual thick fries, they were thinly shaved, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely addictive. We'd never had them prepared that way before, and they were a home run. Of course, I couldn't leave without ordering what I consider Penryn Grill's signature dish--the shrimp tacos. They are hands down the best around. Perfectly seasoned, loaded with flavor, and honestly worthy of ordering every single visit. The atmosphere was terrific. We loved the live '80s music, the service was fantastic as always, and our waitress graciously endured my terrible jokes with a smile. That's five-star service in my book. As retirees, we're always on the hunt for a place that serves a great meal at a great value, and Penryn Grill checks every box. One tip: If you're planning to go on a Friday for the chowder and fish & chips, arrive between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. They regularly sell out--and after this meal, it's easy to understand why. We'll definitely be back...again!

It's a small place where you can put in your order & browse some of the non-food merchandise they sell like branded clothing & cups. You might also find food & drinks like refrigerated veggie items, kombucha, different pantry items, nuts, honey, or frozen items. They offered samples for Thai Cucumber Salad on one visit. They also have their own line of seasonings & chai concentrate (more on this later). The line moves at a decent pace. There is a lot of seating found in an adjacent room to the side of the pick up window, a patio area with umbrellas, a bench, & other nearby tables. So far we've ordered THE BEST Dirty Chai Latte (both hot & iced) that I've ever had & an iced Lavender Latte (so freshly floral) to drink. We've also had a few scones--Blueberry Meyer Lemon (my absolute FAVE scone I've ever ordered from anywhere!!), Black Bottom, Gluten Free Blueberry, & Chocolate Chip with Chai Glaze (with our lucky timing being when a freshly made batch came out). All have been SO tasty with a tender interior. Note--they update the menu board when they run out of scone flavors or they become available again. We've experienced both just straightforward customer service, & a friendly & helpful staffer who answered our questions & didn't rush us even when it was busy. Back to their Chai Concentrate--We were so enamored with their latte that we bought a bottle. Then we had to go back to buy more bottles. They'll be a pantry staple from now on. We love the stuff so much! It's always joyful to experience a place & say something is the best I've ever had! Just yum!

I happened to see their post about it being their 7th anniversary, so I decided it was a good day to go. Because it's their anniversary, purchases came with a free t-shirt. There was plenty of parking. I got there about 10 minutes before they opened and joined the line. It moved steadily once they opened. I went with one of the specials- matcha with chai cream top. I'm a fan of matcha and chai, so why not both. I also decided to get a breakfast burrito (available only on Fridays and Saturdays). They have a lot of other drink and food options. Drinks include coffee, tea, lemonade. Food includes a variety of sandwiches and scones. The scones were tempting, but I'll have to try that next time! I waited outside for my drink, where there is a good amount of seating. My drink was more chai forward, but I enjoyed it overall. I kind of got used to places giving too much ice- that was not the case here. The burrito came with sausage, eggs, tater tots, cheese, and aioli on the side. It was solid and I especially enjoyed the aioli. Overall, it was worth waking up early to come here!

Decent value when craving barbecue…read more First time trying a restaurant in this area. Pleasantly surprised. I appreciated the location. Plenty of parking. The restaurant has outdoor seating and an interesting set up inside. As you walk in the bar is to the right with the kitchen in the far back. You have a small area with larger tables. Just to the left you have another room but smaller tables. At first my part was seated in the room with the small tables but knew our order, so we requested to be moved. Thankful there was a party that just left. Nachos with add-on brisket - we devoured it. There was a decent ratio of toppings as well as a healthy amount of brisket. Large pieces mostly hidden under the chips. This could be a meal on its own. 1lb fries with pesto and pulled pork - I wanted to like this. A generous portion of pulled pork to match but it was dry. The pesto aioli sauce didn't elevate or add anything. Just a subpar plate of fries. Three meat platter / double brisket (asked for fatty) and trip tip. Brisket was good, a little melt in your mouth but was lacking the smokiness and true bbq flavor you'd expect. Still a good protein. The trip tip was okay. It was cooked more than I'd like yet still a decent protein option. I def used the available condiments to elevate each bite. One thing to note - they charge for ranch, aioli sauces. Nothing that will break the bank but it would've been nice if the server mentioned it before serving us several containers of them. Overall a decent bbq spot. Is it the best? No. Is it good for this area? Sure. I'd come back for the nachos and the meat platter. Decent value for the amount of food. We walked away with leftovers which is a win in my books.
