Having two young daughters treating the puppy like a wild animal made it even worse. We were at our breaking point and considering giving away the puppy, but thankfully a friend referred us to Kim. That man is a saint and a dog whisperer! After 6 weeks of training with Kim, our puppy is the best behaved young lab I have ever seen. I could never imagine a transition this dramatic. The best part is that our dog still has a puppy personality, but has simply learned how to listen and obey commands. I highly recommend Kim!

Due to pandemic, I found most places were only doing virtual trainings which didn't satisfy me, as this is my first dog. Luckily, I got in contact with CDT, referral from a friend who heard from a friend that they were awesome. From the first phone call (sorry can't remember who took it), they answered all my questions and addressed my worries when it came to getting the proper training. One of their trainers, Maxine, was able to fit us in her schedule on short notice. After that first private session, we learned so much! Skylar recently completed a 7 day board and train with Maxine and came back less nippy, almost potty trained and now showing default behaviors like sit anytime a human or dog walks by. We have a follow up with Maxine in a few weeks and can't wait! Aside from these private sessions, the owner runs a puppy support group on Facebook which is SO extremely helpful. Her instagram is very active, with tips every single day that help me in between sessions. Maxine was also super helpful in recommending a safe doggie daycare that uses the positive reinforcement approach. So thankful to have found CDT!

Even though Action Pack was moments away from closing that evening, the employees stayed long enough to allow a family friend time to retrieve the dog from the home and bring to Action Pack. Action Pack was extremely accommodating throughout this entire ordeal - finding space for the dog and allowing him to be dropped off for an undetermined amount of time, even going into a holiday weekend. Unbeknownst to us, at the time of drop off, this dog had a severe flea infestation. The staff at Action Pack treated the situation professionally and compassionately. Not only did Action Pack completely eliminate the fleas, but they continued to care for him in the days afterwards- giving him multiple oatmeal baths and ointment to help provide relief for the skin irritation. By the time we got back to Texas and were able to pick up the dog, he was 100% back to his happy and healthy self. We are extremely grateful to Action Pack for helping us during this hectic and stressful time and have no doubt that the dog was well cared for throughout. We also appreciate the professional and courteous manner in which we were treated upon pickup. Action Pack is absolutely, hands down, the best boarding facility we have ever worked with.

The owner does need to be diligent with taking their dog to the trainings (we kind of fell off at the end but it was okay) but as long as you stick with it, your dog will learn new skills and will be better behaved than before. We can literally walk our dog without a leash now, I never thought that would be possible. She will sit in her place when people come over and we are always getting compliments on how good she is. We can do things in the front yard and have her stay in the garage and she won't run after other dogs that walk by or other other people or children. She has learned to stay in her place for as long as we need her to be. It's funny because she was a really wild dog before and now that she's trained everybody loves her. overall the training here was worth it and we are really happy that we did it!

If you truly love your dog, and want to learn proper communication, consider positive reinforcement. The only situation I 'maybe' consider this is a pup with aggressive behavior. There are plenty of training areas outdoors, space to run around, as well as a splash pad pool area for pups to swim and play. Training classes were both hybrid indoors and outdoors and Briana is truly amazing at what she does. She has the best approach when it comes to training your dog and I love how thorough and informative she is. Almost every session you attend, at some point you have to demonstrate in front of the class things that you've been working on with your dog. What I love about Briana is if you do something incorrectly she does not make you feel bad, she simply corrects, redirects and then compliments once it's done right. Luna loved going to "school" and learning new things as well as playing with other dogs after the training classes were over with for the day. These classes were so important and really helped us better understand her and furthermore I think she loved wanting to learn as well. We have seen such improvement in her demeanor and behavior and will continue to reinforce what we've learned at Dog Joy. We hope to sign Luna up for more classes in the future.

You also don't get photos unless you pay $20 for a Facebook updates pics. I didn't pay for that and therefore got no pics of her at the Splash Park and incidentally, she was not in any photos with other dogs who played (and had a ball judging by the photos on the FB page) in the water that day & who's pawrents did pay for the FB update. She provides some of the best experiences for pups, taking them to beautiful open spaces to run around, on nice hikes or bodies of water, as well as good socialization. WARNING: Your dog may love Ally more than you after being in her care! Not only is Ally more than capable of taking care of all of your dog's needs, but she is one of the most pleasant and fun people to be around. Since moving to a regular 9-5 non-business owner, I wanted pet care for our dogs during the day. I also wanted in-home pet sitting and overnight care for our dogs so as not to disrupt their routine of having us in the home. I love, love, love Susan and Dan (the owners) and their entire scheduling staff as well as their "Pet Gals and Pet Guys". When our baby was due, Susan and the entire Pet Gal team went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us plan for her arrival. There is nothing like feeling relieved that your home and pets will be well taken care of during one of the biggest life events. They really did go way above and beyond for us, adjusting to an ever changing situation as well as helping to make sure we had coverage in case something didn't go to plan. They even sent us a wonderful, thoughtful welcome home gift when we arrived home with our new human addition. I can't say enough good things about this company. Our favorite sitters are Jason and Claudia - my dogs LOVE them. They also leave the most wonderful updates and our home is always left better than when we left it. Pre-pandemic we counted on them to care for our pets during the day, and post-vaccine, they are able to care for them during travel time. The Pet Gal team members are all properly insured, trained, and you can trust them to show up, no matter what. You may not get the same sitter each time, but you will get the same care and attention each time. I am so thankful we're clients of The Pet Gal - they are truly a wonderful company.
