This used to be a favorite place to go when out of town families came to visit but something has happened over the past year or so. Because of the memories I had here, I can't give it one star but it deserves one. Breakfast is OK but not like it used to be a dinner here is the WORST. I got the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. The Turkey was over cooked and heated in the microwave. The Mashed potatoes was different temperatures, the outside was broiling hot while the inside was cold (heated by the microwave.) the stuffing was also re-heated in the microwave so there was parts of it as hard as a rock. The child's "meal" is as big if not bigger than an adult size meal, and my daughters chicken fingers were as hard as a rock and incredibly greasy. All of the food lacked flavor. The Salad bar was invested with flies. The staff is still as nice as always but the food is incredibly poor and nasty. You guys need new cooks! read more

We love this Patty's Eggnest location! The staff has always been friendly. Our favorite is their breakfast. My husband loves to get the Swedish pancakes combo with bacon and I usually rotate between the belltown scramble, country benedict, and eggs and bacon. The belltown is great with some country gravy on it - kind of like how the beast mode scramble was. I love their thick slices of sourdough toast too. We've been to the 128th location a few times but the food just seems to be better from this one. And plus it looks like they make their own jam here! I just wish they'd be available to order from on UberEATS like the 128th location. It would be dangerous (for my husband and I at least) but amazing! read more

We have eaten here a handful of times, but won't again. Not after our last experience. The food is good, the service is usually pretty good, but the clientele is what ruins it. It's pretty much anything goes. This restaurant is a hangout for the owners or manager's friends and/or family. I have seen kids behind the counter doing things that require a food handler's permit. I have seen some of the most obnoxious people there, people who are obviously acquaintances of some kind of the management. People you wouldn't want to eat on the same block with let alone in the same restaurant. Children running rampant in the restaurant, adults screaming at the top of their lungs, and nobody says a word to them. Instead, they treat them like special guests and encourage not only the bad behavior but ensure they will be frequent repeat customers. There is also an odor in the restaurant. A very "not pleasant" odor. You can get past that if you sit there long enough before your food comes. You start to not notice it. But if you are unfortunate enough to have some of the unruly guests arrive during your visit don't expect the management to ask them to behave, instead expect to be ignored in favor of them. With all of the 4 and 5 star restaurants we have in Everett, I can't imagine any reason why I'd want to return here. read more

I'm a big fan of Patty's in Lynnwood and Mill Creek. We go there pretty often actually. This was my first time at this particular Patty's and it's very different. Not as clean as the other ones, the menu's are different, and it definitely draws a different crowd too than the other places. Is this a 5 star restaurant if it was competing with Zagat-rated restaurants? No - but it's 5 star for its category, which I would consider to be a greasy spoon dive. You tend to get the best meals out of the sketchier looking places - or atleast I've found that. The Chuckwagon (as its signage says) is exactly that - a bit of a dive, but great food, decent prices, and massive portions. After doing a 5k walk this morning in DT Seattle, we headed back to our 'hood to make up for the calories we burned - and trust me when I say we made up for it. The dining room was packed with Sunday brunchers, so since we were 21+, we went into the bar area. Same food, great service, and hardly a soul in there! Chuckwagon's breakfast menu is 2 pages long, plus a 1 page feature sheet so there is no shortage of choices. They even have a seniors menu that non-seniors can order off of for just $1 more than the senior price. Since I couldn't ever down a full breakfast on my own, I went for a light portion. I had the standard breakfast - your choice of bacon or sausage link (the thick cut bacon is TO DIE FOR), hashbrowns (shredded or O'Brien), 1 egg any style plus a slice of toast. Food came out fast, and was really good. The shredded hashbrowns are insanely buttery on the inside, but golden and crispy on the outside - which is just the way I like them. The bacon rashers are almost like bacon steaks - thick juicy pieces of perfectly cooked, quality bacon. The egg was also fried in butter. Had two of their Bloody Mary's with breakfast - at $5.50 per drink, it was a pretty stiff cocktail that was the perfect celebratory drink post-walk! Go here with expectation of getting huge portions, and you might just end up taking some to go. PS: Their homemade raspberry freezer jam is delicious! read more

Horrible.My husband and I went in for a late breakfast on Mothers day and the cook served me leftover breakfast food from the buffet that got over at 2 pm. We arrived at 530. I ordered Northwest breakfast the sausage was old and shriveled,the bacon was hard as a rock,the ham was hard and the potatoes were not edible. It was very cool like a still life from a bygone time. The diner was very cool and had a very relaxed non rushed feel. It was filled with regulars that the waitress knew and the whole thing reminded me of childhood breakfasts in then local diner. As for the food it was good as well. Big portions and fresh ingredients paired with a fresh cup of coffee served to make it a memorable breakfast. Nothing here was perfect but this was a case where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. Great food, good price, excellent service! Had the chicken fried steak. The batter was the lightest and fluffiest ever with perfectly made eggs and potatoes O'Brien. Hubby had the country benedict with extra crispy hash browns. Just the right amount of sausage gravy covered the perfectly poached eggs, and the hash browns had a delightful crunch to complement the rest of the flavors. The service, especially Linda, was very friendly and prompt. Everyone here pitches in and does what needs to be done, the synergy between the service team is terrific. So with all this great stuff to say, why only four stars? The rear entry way had an offputting smell to it. read more

GREAT SERVICE! I realize that I am spoiled by organic and healthy food provided at my current in Berkeley, CA. I just haven't found a city that compares, but Seattle is getting there. Pretty good. I am gonna go for a 3.5 here. I liked it but the food was so rich and heavy it made me sleep most of the afternoon. I had the Elvis - deep fried French toast with peanut butter and banana and hubby had a waffle - both were smothered in homemade whipped cream. They were both very tasty but coma inducing. Service was great. Our waitress was a sweetie and the hostess had a great sense of humor. I think we will give it another go with some lighter fare. We do still have a favorite breakfast place and although this is good, I don't think we will be naming a new fave anytime soon. read more

Patty's has provided that yummy home cooked breakfast goodness for quite a while. They have decent size portions and are quick to serve. The reason for 4 stars compared to 5 is that my favorite was the biscuits and gravy until the past few months, now the biscuits are not homemade tasting and the gravy has NO flavor at all (really really bland.) It is too bad they changed this! I'm now left trying other breakfast items that are not quite hitting the spot. I'm hoping to find a super great replacement but now I'm left with food that is good but not quite there. On the plus side the orange juice is awesome! As a side item the bacon is to die for! So we heard that this is a place to be for brunch. We didn't have to wait, but the place was pretty crowded, so that was a good sign (so we thought). Since we moved from Hawaii, I decided to try the loco moco, and my husband ordered the egg scramble dish. The food was okay (my loco moco was less than satisfying, but it's Washington state, so I kinda expect that), but the HEALTH CODE VIOLATION was really really unappetizing. One of the waitresses was handling someone else's pancake; she took her gloves off after pancake was on the plate, and use her bare hands to put cream and whipped cream on top, and cut the bananas and berries and place them on the plate (no gloves at all). The same girl was also eating a "mysterious order" of muffin in front of the customers, then later found that it was meant for another table of customers (and she told them about it and laughed, saying "I thought they just made extra so I ate it!")... she also didn't wash her hands before and after eating that muffin, and handles money in between serving food. With less than mediocre food, and the health code violation, we will not be coming back. read more

To be fair, we did not eat breakfast here, so my rating could change should I try the meal category this diner supposedly won awards for. And rather than choose breakfast, I went for a diner staple: grilled cheese with fries. I had thought of potentially starting my "eating healthier" New Year's resolution earlier and going for a side salad instead, but fries sounded way better. Unfortunately, the fries are what tanked this meal for me. They get points for having the skin-on, but they tasted as though they had been previously cooked, frozen, and then cooked again. The centers were tough and weird. I wish I had more descriptive adjectives, but that's what they were: touch and weird. The grilled cheese sandwich, itself, was what it should be: thick bread, lots of American cheese, buttery and the perfect color brown on the outside. One surprise was the bread tasted as though it had been grilled with a garlic-butter. Whether this was an accident due to whatever else had been cooked on the grill or intentional and they used a garlic-flavored butter substance to grill the sandwich is unclear, but the subtle garlic-flavor was nice. I would give this place a second chance to try breakfast, but it is unfortunate this diner failed to something as simple as fries well, so I'm still a little wary. read more

Worst restaurant experience ever. Got a chicken fried steak with country gravy and toast. The toast comes out burned to a crisp and when I try the steak, the gravy is so salty, I can't even eat it. When I mention it to the waitress, she runs back into the kitchen and comes back out 5 min later saying, "I don't know what's wrong with your taste buds but it's not salty. I've no idea what your problem is, but do you want me to replace it?" To which I replied, "No, I've completely lost my appetite, please just take it away." She then rolled her eyes and scoffed, taking my plate away. At the same time, my sister got a Ruben with French fries. Her French fries came out completely raw and crunchy. When she asked for them to be replaced, the same waitress told my sister that she needed to make room at the table if she wanted them. When I was checking out she also said that she didn't know what made my day so bad that it ruined my taste buds and that they had served that same meal to other customers and I had had no reason to complain. I told her I did not want to pay for the meal, but to be polite, I would pay half the check since the had cooked the food. She glared at me telling me that I needed to cheer up because I was putting her in a bad mood. I've been in the food and restaurant business for almost 6 years. Please don't lie to me and tell me something can't be fixed or that I'm wrong. It's very unprofessional and makes your company look very bad. I will no longer frequent your place of business. I am surprised at the bad reviews because my three times I have eaten here the food was great. They serve huge plates for breakfast and the meats were very tasty. The bacon was worth a trip back by itself. Long thick slices of smoked bacon, not the OMG it looks like my bacon got shrinkage most places serve. Also Patty who runs the cash register, among other things over the week is such a sweetheart. There are other employees whose names I don't know but they always have a smile on their face.
