Super nice owner and good food. Had a chicken cheesesteak and fresh cut fries. Can't wait to reorder!

They serve breakfast all day. It's usually busy whenever I go for dinner around 5 or 6pm but service is quick. It might be hard to navigate and find a seat because it's a small place. The string lines are cute. They have music playing and Pixar movies on the TV. My favorite is the Sweet Brunch Sandwich. I also really like their biscuits and sausage gravy. Their home fries have the perfect amount of crispiness. I've tried other things on the menu and it's all been decent. Their flavored iced coffee was not great, though. I mean it's a diner so it's not like... super fancy and I wouldn't exactly say it's worth going out of your way for. I gave a bonus star for the service :)

Today we finally caught our chance, and I'm so glad we did. The diner is small and bustling, with closely spaced tables and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. We grabbed a seat and were impressed by the expansive menu, but for our first visit we stuck with classic favorites: a cod fish sandwich and a single cheeseburger. Both were absolutely delicious. My husband is convinced the French fries were the best he's ever had--and that's saying something after 65+ years of fry-tasting experience. My Saratoga chips were crisp, light, and full of flavor. A great first experience, and definitely not our last visit.

WING NIGHT = ABSOLUTE HOME RUN.My friends LOVE coming here specifically for wings, and they're…read moreright. Exceptional flavor, great deal, cooked right -- the kind of wings that make grown adults nod silently while chewing like they just heard the national anthem. You've clearly cracked the code there. Now... the rest feels like a restaurant that needs Ken back in the building doing what he does best: tightening Quality Control like a Marine inspecting bunks. The good stuff first:The ambiance is cozy. The TVs with the Olympics everywhere? Fantastic touch. It felt festive, communal, almost European... if Europeans watched curling while eating fries. Our waitress (who has served me a couple times before) is kind, attentive. Whoever is doing hiring and training deserves a raise...but today many of them seemed checked out. Now for the reality check -- delivered with affection: The dining room seating is uncomfortable. The enclosed patio high-tops are noticeably better. The regular chairs feel like they were designed by a chiropractor trying to drum up future business. The chili had good flavor but arrived just barely warm and missing onions, like it stopped just short of finishing school. The potatoes came missing bacon at first. When it did arrive, the portion was... let's call it "symbolic." About one crumpled strip -- not worth the price, even though the bacon itself was perfectly cooked and the aioli made the dish taste very good. Great ingredients, sloppy execution. Some plates are awkwardly shaped, which turns eating into a geometry problem. Our daughter -- a 23-year-old self-appointed restaurant expert -- liked the pancakes, (wanted the goetta burger but it was 86'd) and the sauce had developed that thick film that says, "I've been sitting here longer than a Senate filibuster." Again, good flavor... just tripped by execution. We also watched a neighboring table wait a long time to cash out -- long enough to turn a good experience into a frustrating exit. Julie said the girls bathroom felt like an outhouse in the Arctic on this snowy morning. Hand dryers are below the belt, so low you could dry your shoes. Take your Doan's Pills if you're over 60 and want to dry your hands. One ironic upside: those wobbly hard dining room seats do ensure fast table turnover. They also strongly discourage lingering for after-dinner drinks -- which I'm guessing was not the business strategy. Bottom line, Ken: This is a good restaurant that should be one of the best neighborhood spots in the city. The bones are strong. The staff is usually strong. The wings are elite. What's missing is your signature tightening of the details.... the last 10% that turns "good" into "people won't shut up about it." Because right now, this place feels like a Ferrari that just needs a tune-up. And everyone knows you're one of the best mechanics in town.

The restaurant is in a house, but it's set up nicely. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived, but it got quite full while we were there. And a bit noisy, but not so noisy that we couldn't talk. I ordered the coq au fin, which was tasty. My girlfriend got the mushroom pasta, which she really enjoyed. It's BYOB, but no corking free, so we reach enjoyed a beverage we brought with. For dessert the housemade Bourbon Pecan Ice Cream and Creme Brulee were both delectable. They do stack reservations (the restaurant's small), and the group who had reserved our table after us arrived before we were done. But the restaurant staff were nice about it and we were able to finish our desserts before departing.

I was with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while, and chose to sit outside. This is a perfect place to have a long lunch as they don't care if you stay and visit (we were there for over 2 hours). Our service was good and very friendly. We ordered the fish sandwich with mixed vegetables, and the chicken Caesar sandwich with fries. They were able to blacken my chicken instead of fried chicken, which I appreciated. I also wanted to have my side be onion rings, but they said they couldn't make a side of those, so I ordered the appetizer of onion rings. Holy smokes the serving was HUGE! They were also some of the best onion rings I have had. The sandwiches were cooked perfectly, and the side of broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus was fantastic. We also ordered iced tea, and it comes in a very large Mason jar and was brewed fresh. Yum. I have read some reviews about dinner that were not as favorable, but for a leisurely lunch, this place cannot be beat and was worth our drive.
