Their fresh deli items are so delicious! Seasonal, gourmet, and high quality is how I would describe their products. Their frozen food is excellent too (stuffed shells yummmm). I've been coming for years and I've always had great luck with their prepared food and kitchen whatnots...spices, sauces, etc. Staff is super friendly/helpful so ask away if you're pulling a meal together. I treasure my pasta and co. cookbooks too. I have 3 of them. A lot of their deli items are also in their cookbooks if you'd like to make them at home. Or if you have limited time, they have everything you need to make a semi-homemade dinner at home. Honestly, I'm in mixed emotions with Pasta & Co. On the one hand, every food item I've tried here has been delicious and you can sample most everything. I try to stop here whenever I find myself in the area. We've tried a few of their make at home items - the chicken pot pie, baked tortellini, the berry and peach crumble - and they're all pretty good. The tortellini is a little dry but the flavors are spot on and I'd eat the chicken pot pie pretty much any day of my life. Or every day! I'm also a pretty big fan of their caesar dressing. If it had its own page, I'd like the heck out of it. Other yummy notes: fresh ravioli and flavorful sauces. On the other hand, I've had blah experiences with most of the staff. They're mostly standoffish bordering on rude. I've been here 5 or 6 times and had many awkward encounters, so I feel comfortable saying that's the norm attitude here. Pasta & Co is Seattle's answer to Dean and Deluca. Thank goodness, because we needed one! They make the best pasta salads. House pasta, chinese vermicelli, and penne w/ smoked mozzarella are my favorites. If you don't have time to whip up something to bring to a dinner party, go here. The prepared food is flavorful, fresh, and very gourmet. I also recommend their baked goods. Picked up a mini vanilla bean cheesecake the other day for my bf's bday. We couldn't put our forks down! Several years ago right in the middle of the whole ATKINS (omg-it will-change-your-life-kins) craze, I went through an embarrassing addiction to lasagna. I shamelessly tortured many a good friend with heaping servings of cheesy, gooey delish lasagna from Pasta & Co. at work and even in my own home. The staff has got a little more uppity lately. Since when did college kids start thinking a job at Pasta & Co made them hot sh!t? I don't get it... Still the location is great, well-stocked and clean. We came and ordered two kinds of fresh pasta--meat ravioli and pesto tortellini. The ravioli ended up being ok. It had a slightly off taste that got worse the second time around. The tortellini was really yummy--lots of pine nut flavor!--and just as good the next day. Their servings listed are right on--exactly 3 servings for 1 pound is how it worked out for us. The price is decent for fresh pasta, and not bad compared to getting it in a restaurant. My only concern is that they don't give you any recommendations for cooking it, so you're on your own. This place is phenomenal. They have all sorts of fresh pastas you can by to go as well as many different prepared food options. The hazelnut tortellini is delicious! They also have several different desserts; however, I didn't try again yet... The cheesecakes looked decadent so I will definitely be back for one of those! Here's why I think Pasta & Co is so great: 1) Quality products. It is clear to me that Pasta & Co cares and works to give you the very best of what you're looking for. Don't get me started on the desserts. 2) Ready to cook pasta. I have used the lasagna sheets and ravioli...man, these are great! Save you some time! 3) Frozen foods. From Beecher's Mac & Cheese to frozen pesto to desserts ready to go. 4) Perfect hostess gifts. They have high quality olive oils and vinegars, Boat Street pickled products, Ballard Bee Honey, and so much more. 5) Good to go appetizers. Interesting crackers and spreads, tapenades and cheeses...no need to overthink it, just grab and go. Why they lose a star for me? The service could be a little better. I used to love this place, but now that its become a beecher machine, its not the same. I go in for pasta and that is about all. Pasta is still pretty good as are some of the deli salads, but the overwhelming selling of the beecher crackers and curds are too much for me. Staff isn't as friendly any more either. Bummer. Mama mia... I dont even know if I should write a review for sure or not. I've only been once... but the food really wasn't up to par and... it was a little pricey for what you get. GRANTED.... yes you are at Uvilliage... but I'd take Eureka over Pasta and Co in a heartbeat. Different foods but the quality next door I think is a little better. I've only had the Fettuccine Alfredo but it really wasn't anything special and it was a little fatty. I used to love this place a decade or so ago when I lived nearby. I remember the most amazing freshly made ravioli stuffed with roasted vegetables or italian sausage. So when I was at UVillage again recently, I stopped in on a whim to take home some of those amazing ravioli. I was happy to see they still carried the same flavors and more. I bought 1/3 lb each of roasted vegetable, mushroom, and butternut squash. Oh, they sounded amazing! But, sadly, when it came time for dinner, I found the pasta thick and the fillings slim and uninteresting. Except for the butternut which was pretty good, I couldn't even tell what they were stuffed with. Paid $15-18/lb and might as well have bought packaged ravioli from the grocery store. Found this adorable little spot while shopping at University Village. I love that I could choose any items in any quantity and have them hot or cold. I enjoyed some of their Cesar salad which was the creamy type and very tasty, as well as a small plate of mashed potatoes. Mashers are my FAV and being able to have a few dollars worth with my lunch was definitely a treat. For my salad, potatoes and an aranciatta rossa it came to around 8 dollars. If I'm having guests I always get my pasta here. Fresh artichoke ravioli and hazelnut tortellini and sauces that taste like they simmered for a decade. These people make the BEST pasta and nothing tastes better than fresh. Forget the grocery store, this is the way to impress people or pamper yourself. They'll tell you exactly how much to buy for how many people you're cooking for, and they don't pad the numbers. They'll also give you menu suggestions and just plain go out of their way to be informative, helpful and friendly. read more

Came by to pick up a quick dinner before rushing to work and sampled their house pasta. It was amazing! For something tossed in a sauce of cheese, crunchy breadcrumbs, heavy cream, and lemon, it was deliciously light and perfect for the warm day. I threw in some chicken and called it good. Chicken was decent, but it's the house pasta I'm coming back for! Everything savory is sold by weight, so you can get as much or as little as you want. The service was so helpful. A young woman helped me pick a salad and made sure I had everything I needed for a successful lunch on the go. I got the jeweled kale and it was light, fresh, and quite tasty. I would definitely go back for that, the Rosemary roll was great as well. I bought some fresh pasta here for a special dinner. You can totally tell a major improvement from boxed pasta to fresh pasta. I don't make pasta very much but if I could buy it fresh more often, I totally would! And it was very good when it came from Pasta & Co. And the girl behind the counter was very helpful, she helped me pick out a good pasta, gave me some suggestions for sauces and was just very nice and pleasant in general. That is a major plus for me. Nothing worse than getting helped by a big old grump. So, when I buy fresh pasta, I see no reason to go anywhere other than Pasta & Co (for now!). read more

After however many years of semi-frequenting U-Village, I finally checked out Pasta & Co. I'd been to a location in Bellevue, but somehow avoided this one all these years until a recent shopping trip. Word of advice: it's probably not the best idea to come here during lunchtime in the middle of the holiday shopping season. The place is definitely not big enough for that; my friend and I managed to grab a table right as someone was leaving, but otherwise we'd have been SOL (or sharing with the kind strangers who offered us a place at their table). EVERYTHING looked good, but instead of pasta I ordered a caprese sandwich and tomato-cheddar soup. The sandwich had this amazing balsamic - kind of sweet, kind of vinegar-y - and I wanted to eat an entire jar of it. The soup was delicious as well, and it was perfect for a gross, rainy day. However. The catch is that my sandwich, soup, and can of soda was over $16. SIXTEEN DOLLARS. I'm not really a cheapskate, but I feel like that's a bit excessive for what it was. I spent some time drooling over all the other food selections but I don't know if it's safe to come back - I may end up buying everything & cleaning out my entire bank account! read more

I love Pasta and Co. because it's a great place to grab a tasty lunch (they have a great lunch plate option), or dishes for fresh gourmet dinner party. I love any of the couscous or bean salads and they do variations with seasonal ingredients so it always feels fresh. They have spices, sauces, salads, bread and cheese. They have all of the Beecher's items, the cheeses, the mac and cheese, along with lots of other local specialty goods. They have a easy self-serve fridge section so you can zip in and out super fast. The staff is friendly and can help you plan your meal. Yes, it's a bit pricier than the grocery store deli, but this isn't a grocery store. My specialty shop in Seattle is DeLaurenti, but when I don't feel like going downtown, or I want something a little bit more than Whole Foods, this is my go-to spot. read more

I will admit this review is bias as this was the first food place my family and I used to visit in Seattle when it was under the "old" management. In the old days they had a very different menu and in the late 80s, Seattle was still new to "Balsamic Vineger" and "Goat Cheese" so this place was a nice introduction to the new "cliche" food trends that would dominate the 90s and onward, but for an 8 year old farm boy, these "city" foods were very unique and good. The menu was not all organic and hippe as it is now. It still had the same arch-deco menu items, but without Kobe Beef and non bioenginered tomatoes on the menu. Some the staples we used to get were Pasta Bruta which was this tortelli dish with dry sausage and ground sun dried tomatoes, also the ATT pasta which they still have in theme, but without the old long corkscrew noodles, the Chinese Pasta also was less oily and had more kick and the "House Pasta" still had garlic but sans the mayo they added now. (note I cannot spell Italian ingredients, so I am sorry for the lack of spelling with this review) The location is still the same with the same layout more or less, they lost their location downtown in the early 00s, so this is now all they have that I know. I still own the old yellow original cookbook they sold with the Chinese pasta on the bookmark as a bonus. Corner store lot, no inside eating, but a very cute outside public area with birds and turtle statues. The stores around it have changed over the years into more uppy hipster places, but they still have cute kids running around being cute and eating noodles as I was decades ago. Nowadays, it is a different place, new foods, new flavors, and most of my family no longer visit here. But sometimes, I do go here, order some chinese pasta, sit by the birds outside and remember times in which have past. The service is getting better. I did get a nice email from the manager about my concern of bad service and he said he would address the issue and I been back 3 times since and have not had any customer service issues, so Kutos Todd. read more

Overrated. A piece of lukewarm lasagna that was warmed up in a microwave shouldn't be $13.

To be perfectly honest I don't like leaving reviews on food because food reviews are subjective. A long time ago I learned you can't please everyone. Today I stopped at this store which I have passed dozens of times because I really need some dessert quickly for some unexpected guests. I was in U Village and it was convenient. Two 4" cakes $13.95 each and two slices from a brand new 10" or 12" chocolate cake. $7.95 each slice and a tip on the whole total brought the sale to just under $50.00. My problem is not about the tip those girls should be payed a fair wage. My opinion - Do NOT buy cake here. The coconut cake was over air rated, the batter was whipped too long and so it had no texture. It wasn't as if the cake was trying to be a French gateau. It was just a weak textured cake. The crumb was tight, not an airy sponge either. There was no coconut taste to the cake at all. The filling was a lemony kind of filling that had an aftertaste that tasted like it was spoiled. The coconut icing tasted like plain white icing with coconut shreds. At $13.95 it seemed a reasonable price for a 4" coconut cake in a location with crazy high rents so I went for it. I was completely disappointed in the flavors and the texture. The only positive was the cake was not dry. Two slices of chocolate cake from a brand new cake - first cuts - DRY and over baked. That's what oven timers are for. I would think that an establishment such as this would let their bakers know to under bake a little for shelf life. Not that a new cake should need shelf life. The chocolate icing had a creamy texture and tasted very similar to the icing you but in the supermarket ready to spread. I gave the carrot cake to someone to take home so I don't know how that was. Again, I don't like to leave reviews on food at all because food is the most subjective of anything you one can possibly review. Besides that the employees were sweet and very helpful. For a company this large, my suggestion - either get a really good pastry chef who knows what they are doing or get a chef trainer to teach your bakers to taste the product they make and give honest feedback to improve the desserts. Spend some time paneling your recipes. There are recipes all over the internet which would be better than these two cakes. Just because a dessert is sweet it doesn't give it value. Desserts, especially when in petite sizes should burst with flavor and freshness. Just my opinion. read more

Nice selection of fresh pasta, bread and other products, perfect for the busy and stressed upscale Seattle dwelling mommy, pushing her precious child in a huge $1000 stroller, deciding to go through all the closely grouped tables and chairs in the middle of the store, rather than along the spacious and uncluttered path along the perimeter of the store. There are lots of samples of yummy things, the service is nice, and the soup and breadsticks are lovely. It's a bit pricey but it's in a pricey mall, so that shouldn't be a surprise. Nice little cafe to pick up some healthy cold pasta dishes and salads if you're looking to eat healthy. Quite expensive.... but it is quality food and is actually really delicious. I wouldn't recommend coming here to look for any main course meals however. You'll end up spending well over 10 bucks just to feed yourself...like I did when I picked up 14 dollars in shrimp pasta to eat as a meal and wasn't anywhere near full. Then again I am a major fatass.....I think the purpose of this deli is to pick up a bulk amount of their pastas as side dishes to take home. And like I said before, it is actually pretty good....They have a pesto and sun dried tomato pasta that's also one of my favorites. Be sure to try one of their desserts on your way out. read more

Although on the pricier side, I love this little store that features a bunch of delicious packaged food ranging from a variety of jam to bucket loads of Beecher's goods as well as premade dishes that you can either take home with you or have it heated up to be eaten in the store. I tried the beef lasagna, the chicken which my friend drizzled with a chipotle sauce she bought from Pasta & Co, and the polenta. Everything was delicious and not too heavy. Usually I feel a little queasy after too much Italian food but this hit the spot. It's definitely a great place for an afternoon snack. I love the variety of foods in the store. Couscous and lamb stew! After spending 4 hrs shopping at University Village I needed to refuel. Stopped here for a bite and there were so many choices but Emily was kind enough to let me sample several salads before I made my decision. The couscous had garbanzo beans, red peppers, celery and a light vinaigrette. It was filling and refreshing. I also got a small serving of the lamb stew which had chunks of carrots, potatoes and of course the lamb. The flavors were just right and not too overpowering. Added a can of soda and all this came out to just about $15. Bargain for great couscous & lamb! read more

Good food with great ingredients and a huge selection. However, it is very pricey and expensive. We got a turkey sandwich and a caprese sandwich, both almost $11 each. They weren't even that big or came with sides. However, it was really good and all the ingredients were fresh and came well together. We also got the mozzarella pasta salad with was also very good, but also expensive. I think got was $14 a pound. Definitely would come back here to try more things, but would not come as often. read more

I've been coming to Pasta and Co for the past 12 years and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Their food is fresh, tasty, and always has variety of flavors that can cater to any pallet. My personal favorite is the sun dried tomato and pesto pasta, served cold it is a basily treat and very fulling for it being composed mainly of carbs. They have a large variety of refrigerated and frozen food, plenty of Beecher's to go around for thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other family/friend/personal meal. I knocked down a star for the price, yes it is located within the already very overpriced University Village, but it hurts the heart and wallet to pay $8 for a half pint of pasta...oh the things we do for delicious carbs. read more

I have worked in retail and it is a cardinal rule to welcome customers in if your door is open, even if it is so close to closing time. I had the brown asian noodle thing that tasted amazing, and some really good bread that was the perfect match of hard and soft.
