Super great bakery in Paso Robles -- no frills, no nonsense, zero ambience but the pan dulce and breakfast burritos? SO good. The price is very reasonable . The breakfast burrito will fill you up for the entire day. It has creamy beans, eggs, bacon with the most amazing flour tortilla you've ever eaten. If you're planning on a big day at the wineries and need to fill your stomach with something to absorb all the wine to follow, definitely check this place out. I recommend take out as there is only one small table here.

Possibly the best carnitas torta I've ever eaten. My boyfriend and I stopped by on Monday for a quick bite before a wine tasting. They have fresh pan dulce and other bites here. The gentleman at the front was very friendly, he let us sample the carnitas and OMG melt in your mouth good. My boyfriend got a machaca breakfast burrito and I got the carnitas torta. From the pan dulce to the fresh bolio on the torta 10/10. I wish we lived closer since this was hands down the best food we've eaten. Couldn't recommend more!

I had not heard of this bakery until I went to a wine event that sourced cookies from here for one of their wine pairings. The cookie was called canela shortbread....I loved it so much I asked about the source. I recently went in the bakery to inquire about ordering two batches, each for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The front staff was very accommodating and the price (for both orders, plus a bag of about 8-9 cookies to take home) was INCREDIBLY reasonable. These cookies just melt in your mouth...great with a cup of coffee or tea (or wine, apparently). Since I don't have time to do my usual holiday cookie baking this year, these are going out with some homemade Bailey's Irish Cream to some lucky friends. Their pan Dulce selection looks great. Based on reviews, it sounds like their pan dulce and breakfast/lunch selections are as delicious as these cookies. Worth the drive from South Atascadero to North Paso any day!

Pan Dulce, and breakfast burritos are a big hit here but this time we tried the pan Dulce. My kiddos enjoyed the fresh made pan Dulce. Breakfast burritos are made fresh upon ordering from what we saw as we looked around. Prices for pan Dulce are reasonable as we purchased two for under $7. They have seating inside as well and hot coffee. Staff was friendly and inside was clean, and organized.

Great quality food and received good service! Appreciated their piping hot homemade tortillas and meats. Enjoyed their tacos, breakfast burrito and menudo. Will definitely be back again, come check them out. Perfect pickup for our drive back home to the Bay Area since it's close to the freeway.

Menudo. They give you chile, onions, and cilantro on the side. Plus homemade corn tortillas.

The pan dulce (sweet bread ) is fresh and good. The burritos are really good. I got some menudo. It's the best I've had in Paso Robles. The name says bakery but the Mexican food here is excellent. The restaurant looks super clean and the owner is friendly.

The egg and chorizo burrito was delicious. If you like chorizo then I highly recommend it. We also ordered the egg and bacon burrito and it was also very good. The roasted tomato salsa was definitely a standout and had the right amount of kick to it. Service was fast and friendly. Great mom and pop shop with tables inside. Plenty of street parking. Would definitely return.

Traditional carne asada torta. Soooo good!!

Several months ago a coworker turned me onto this place and the name led me to believe they were JUST a bakery and deli. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out it was much more than that. This place is a counter service Mexican bakery and restaurant serving tortas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas and other traditional Mexican food. The first time eating here I ordered a chicken torta and I was immediately hooked. It was fresh and delicious. I consider myself a connoisseur of bean and cheese burritos and I feel confident in saying theirs is by far the best in north county. Ive also tried a few of their Mexican pastries and they were fresh and tasty. The owners are warm and welcoming. I love this place and I will keep coming back.

In order fully to appreciate this review, it is necessary for you to suspend your disbelief. This…read morereview has nothing to do with unknowable facts or unobserved reality; rather, it is concerned with people making the best choices with the (admittedly limited) information they had at the time. If you were about to take a drink of yellow Gatorade, and someone you trusted told you not to drink the yellow Gatorade, because it was horse urine, you would be a fool to drink the yellow Gatorade. Even if it turned out that the yellow Gatorade was yellow Gatorade and not horse urine. Why? Because you took an unnecessary risk and went against the only information you had at the time. On with the review. I had stopped here for gas on a few occasions on my way back from SoCal to San Francisco. At the time, about 75 percent of my cross-state trips were on the 5, so my 101 gas-station knowledge was limited and ever-changing--mainly due to all the gas stations in King City playing musical chairs with their branding. At the time, I hadn't yet discovered San Paso Truck Stop, so I thought this was my last freeway-easy opportunity to get gas for a while, and I knew how to get here from the freeway and how to get back onto the freeway from here. In other words, this place, though high-priced, was a decent stop, a solid three stars. All of this ended in January 2021, when I was driving back from COVID bubbling with my parents for the fall and holidays of 2020 to a desolate San Francisco. Remember that time? In California? The COVID rate was way up from the holiday season; vaccines weren't available yet; I had recently found out that one of my mom's former colleagues had died of COVID, and the mother of a friend of mine was in the hospital with COVID. Amid all this, I needed gas, and I needed to use the bathroom. Third Base was where I stopped. I pumped my gas, and when I was about to walk into the store, a man without a mask walked out and proceeded to have a coughing fit right as he passed me. I was annoyed that he was unmasked and at his rudeness for not even covering his mouth or turning away as I passed by. When I entered the store, an employee was right next to the door. He wasn't wearing a mask either, and he was rubbing his upper lip. (Again, this is at the height of California's big post-holidays outbreak.) He smiled widely at me and asked if I needed anything. I told him I just needed to use the restroom, and he walked toward me. I told him to stop, and he did. I told him I was uncomfortable that he wasn't wearing a mask (I was more concerned that he was rubbing his face right beneath his nostrils) and that I just needed to know where the bathroom was. He fast-walked past me and arrived right at the bathroom door, and he opened it and held it open for me. I told him I really didn't want to be that close to him, but he insisted that he wasn't sick and that I would be fine. Still very annoyed, I rushed past him into the bathroom. When I left, he was chatting it up with another customer (also not wearing a mask) at the cash register. Eventually, I would find out that Paso Robles was one of those COVID-restriction holdouts, where anti-mask and anti-gathering-restrictions sentiment were very high. So what happened? Nothing. I wouldn't get COVID until December 2022, and I was still masking more or less all the time by that point, although I was otherwise living my life pretty normally. With what I know now, my experience at Third Base wasn't particularly dangerous, but based on what we knew (or thought we knew) at the time, this place was putting its customers' and its employees' health at risk by not following state (and I assume county) mask mandates. I was also uniquely perturbed by how far the employee seemed to go out of his way to make me feel uncomfortable. My regular northbound gas stop has changed twice since my last visit here, and no matter how gourmet their sandwiches or vast their wine selection, I won't ever step foot inside here again. What if they decide to question the food-handling regulations? There is a hepatitis A outbreak in L.A. right now, and we all know how hep A is spread.

Ordered the Lindsay and the Italian to split between the two of us. Lindsay was good. Reminded me a little bit of some other sandwiches from slo although not quite the same however that one was tasty. Flavor was good and the balance was pretty good. Next comes the Italian. Well. I was sadly disappointed with this one. The amount of bread that was on it was a lot. Usually most places that make Italians with hoagies, will go ahead and remove some of the bread so that it has enough space for the meat and everything else. This one was probably 2/3 bread, the rest was the actual accoutrements. I was not a fan of the muffaletta. But that's on me because I'm not a muffaletta fan. Meats were good but the whole sandwich didn't mesh for me. Staff was really nice, the selections of cheese were awesome but that place was hot! Not sure what was going on with the AC that place was hot! It's worth a stop based off the quality meats, location and staff.
