When they first opened, the transition from the Paseo on Shilshole hadn't been smooth, and the food was inconsistent. Fortunately, those days are in the past ... The Caribbean Roast sandwich is the thing to order (yes, they have other good items) -- it is the dish that made them famous, the one that keeps me coming back. Roast pork, onions, greens (some kind of lettuce), mayo and jalapeños ... on a baguette -- it's just a superior sandwich. Be aware that their parking is very limited ... there is on-street parking, and lots of paid parking, but if there's an event at one of the stadiums, you can pretty much forget it. To go service is fairly efficient and pleasant. As for indoor dining ... there is good separation between the tables -- so better than many places, but I'm still not yet willing to dine indoors while COVID-19's Delta variant is generating so many cases each day in King County - you may make a different choice. read more

It was ready in less than 5 minutes and came out all wrapped up. It was very juicy and there was a lot of pork...you'll def get your protein fix. It had a layer of Romaine lettuce and huge onions throughout. There wasn't too many jalapeños. It was so huge and juicy I needed a fork. Break surprisingly stayed in tact. I went this past Saturday evening with some friends. We were excited to hear that they have a tiki bar in the back of the restaurant. I have to say I was super disappointed with the bar. It has this weird neon lighting pared with ocean blue walls. I ordered a tiki drink that you have to share with at least one other person due to the amount of alcohol and it was a big let down. In the advertisement for the drink, there's a picture of fire coming from the drink (I live for setting cocktails on fire). When the bartender lit the drink on fire, it barely made a spark. On top of that, the drink was ok at best for $25 dollars. I ordered the traditional Carribean sandwich and it was amazing as always. With my time in Washington dwindling down I've had to seriously make a list of must go places for food before moving and I've heard so many great things about Paseo over the years that this place had to be on my list. I was dreading but expecting a long wait and a line out the door but I was pleasantly surprised when that was not the case. Also I remember years back my bestie told me it was cash only so I'm happy to see they now accept cards too because let's be honest most days who just has big amounts of cash on them, shoot you're lucky if I have more than a dollar cash on me at any given point. I like swiping my card and I enjoy places that allow me to use my card. But anyways back to my point so they take cards and no line! Win in my book. Our order didn't take too long either my husband went with the scallop sandwich, I went with their popular Caribbean Roast which is named the #1 sandwich in America according to their menu and then got the steak and cheese for my son. I loved the spice on the sandwiches and the sautéed onions but the Caribbean roast sandwich to me was just ok, my least favorite was surprisingly the scallop sandwich it was just missing something and too fishy. The highlight for me was the steak and cheese, I wanted to take my sons sandwich after trying it, it was a winner dir sure and I'd come back specifically for that one. Also their Jamaica and yea were horrible! We didn't get ice but they were pretty warm, like they'd been sitting out all day and the flavor of the tea tasted like it had been steeped too long and no sugar and the Jamaica had no sweetness to it either which I've never had. The fries were a huge portion so worth the $5 but the seasoning and the garlic aioli they came with were not my favorite. Hands down the best meal in Seattle. It's strange southern food in Seattle. Heard about their pork sandwiches but we got the Jambalaya with 3 spice level (5/5). Please be mindful 3 spice level was spicy for us (I can tolerate spice very well). With each bite I was feeling the spice but could not stop finishing the bowl. This gives a hint at the flavor profile. The corn was amazing as well (5/5) creamy, sweet and spicy ( A must item). Paseo is a short walk away from my work office, so it's becoming a regular spot of mine. I came here with my wife and kids after going to the Dino exhibit. I got the pork shoulder rice plate, my wife got the sandwich of the same, and kids had chicken tenders and quesadillas. The rice plate was delicious. My wife agreed on the taste but wasn't a fan of how messy the sandwich can be. The quesadillas and chicken tenders are obviously not mind blowing, but the kids enjoyed it so I can't complain. It was raining pretty heavily this day and Paseos was really suffering. There are water leaks in multiple spots inside the diner.. but it doesn't take away from the experience for me. Its been a long time since I've eaten at the Paseos in Fremont. I'm glad I stopped in to this location to get a reminder of just how tasty their food is. SO MANY FLAVORS AND TEXTURES. There are so many options on the menu. I opted for the vegetarian red sauce tofu which was so deeply satisfying and garlicy. The jasmine rice and corn on the cob added a nice touch. The black beans were way too smoky for my taste, but the salad with strips of beets was a hit. When you combined all of this is when the magic happened and was sustained over the course of the meal. My partner's plate was also enjoyable and he calls out the sausage as being particularly good. AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE FOOD SHINES. This area of Seattle isn't the most lovely though you're close by the stadium which helps you feel secure. Parking on the street wasn't a problem to find. Very large sandwich wedged with an extremely hefty serving of the most tender Pork shoulder I've ever had. I could probably get away with not chewing it if I didn't have to get through the bun. I think Paseo's in SoDo is good. I've never been to their Fremont location. The restaurant is pretty easy to get to, but be careful where you park. There are only five free spaces (north side of building, near the front door). The rest are part of a private parking lot, so you will have to pay. There is also some street parking available. I ordered the #1 Famous Caribbean Roast sandwich. It tasted good and the meat was tender. It was a little too spicy for me, so next time I will ask them to hold the jalapenos. The bread was ok, but it was difficult to chew because it was so thick. The sandwich was also really messy to eat, but luckily they had napkin dispensers on every table. I also ordered the Tostones (fried plantains with chipotle aioli). It was cooked/presented well, but I just didn't like the dish as much as I thought I would. Next time I will try their Famous Roasted Corn instead. The lady who took our order was nice and we received our food quickly (although it wasn't busy when we were there). The interior is pretty big. We shared the Paseo press and the Caribbean fries, which doesn't seem like a lot of food, but the sandwich was very filling. It had roasted pork shoulder, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, aioli, cilantro, banana peppers, caramelized onions, all melted in a hot press. I'm glad they cut it in half too, so it was easy to share. There was a lot of meat in our sandwich, which is just how I like it. The fries were golden, crispy and seasoned, but I was expecting more since they called it "Caribbean." Hi everyone, So I want to start off by saying please pay attention to parking, don't be like me and get a $55 parking ticket, you can park either on the street or paseo has signs up and I think they only have a few parking spaces for their customers it would have been nice if we were told this by the workers when we came in to dine but oh well!! The Caribbean roast was greasy which I wouldn't have a problem with if you're using healthy oils like sunflower or safflower oil but I'm pretty sure that was not the case flavor was okay it was sweetened meat everything seemed to be sweet but the pepper on it added a nice twist and I think there was a little bit of sauteed onion and the bread held up pretty well with the seasoned pork. My dinner date had the #13, and the baked chicken, black beans, and white rice all were sweetened and did not really care for sweet. As if sugar was sprinkled on everything including my side order of fries seemed to be sprinkled with seasoning salt and sugar, that messed up my fries, besides that the fries are to die for. We also orders from their Halloween drink menu. Recommended to me was a Orange creamsicle had vodka, I did not really care for I should have stuck with what I was going to try the Dark & Spooky. Back being a good sport I just wanted to try something off the Halloween drink menu so I did a little too creamy and milky for me with alcohol. The Monster mash margarita triple sec, tequila with lime that was tasty. The staff was friendly, the place clean, and I did like that everything was compostable utensils plates napkins, restrooms were clean. And there is a wall with a piece of art with a bunch of hats I tried to get the story behind it but the owners were not there I thought that was pretty cool. We got the famous roasted corn, the #1 famous Caribbean roast and the west Caribbean bowl. The food came very fast! They give you so much food for the price point. The meat is delicious and full of flavor. It's delicate and melts in your mouth. I personally LOVE onions so I thought it was amazing. The jalapeños also weren't too spicy mainly due to being pickled so I definitely think it adds a nice kick and flavor. The bread was also sooo good. My husband and I came here on a whim. We weren't sure what to expect but we heard great things about the place. We came in a Sunday, around 3pm. There was street parking at the next block so we hit that up. Inside the place is very small. About 4-5 tables, all of which were being used at the time. Service was lightening fast! We got our food To-Go since there was nowhere to sit and it was a windy 45 degrees outside so I didn't want to sit outside. We walked back to the truck and ate our food in the car. The smell of the food was incredible! And eating it was good too! But honestly it wasn't the best thing ever. There were SO many flavors that I couldn't pick anything out from anything else. It was just a flavor glob In my mouth, which isn't that appealing to me. Not to mention the sandwich was SO messy. I had to save my other half for when we got home so I could really sit and enjoy it. I got the house margarita and it was beautiful and delicious! We then ordered the paseo press and the Caribbean roast, with the tostones and a side of beans. Since we were part of the drive in movie, they brought it to our car, along with a second round of drinks (adult Capri sun style this time).
