Everyone ordered steak frites (2 rump steak, 2 flank) and no one was disappointed. Steaks were cooked to order, although medium here in France is more like medium rare in the States, just be advised. The restaurant itself is lively and fun with lots of chatting, laughing and good times being shared. Desserts were Crème Brûlée and Apple Crumble, neither of which were disappointing. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and would likely return again. This time with a reservation made well in advance.

I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

One night after returning to our flat from the dense crowds and pricey, touristic offerings of the Champs Elysées area of Paris, we found Chez Clara's cozy establishment ready to make their place extremely welcoming, and the traditional-inspired French menu as understandable as possible, notwithstanding our poor French-speaking skills. (They had an English copy of the menu, though we did our best with the French version.) About 18€ a person was amazing to get refreshing Picon orange bitters-laced beers along with French-homestyle entrée choices like confit of duck leg with green beans and new potatoes; lamb chops with pan sauce, pommes frites and salad; and honey-glazed duck breast with potatoes and salad--and even a fresh dessert crepe for our son.

Les mets sont fins, à la hauteur du chef Alexandre Bourdas. Pour ma part j'ai choisi le gigot d'agneau et je n'ai pas été déçue. Cuisson parfaite, fraicheurs des mets... un régal.
