Salmon with black sesame on creamy cauliflower

A wonderful meal and experience! This is a restaurant for both locals and travelers. The food is excellent. The menu is fresh and delicious traditional French cuisine. There are even vegetarian and pescatarian options. I had the pot au feu (beef) and my friends had fish and risotto. My family speaks French but the owner spoke English to 2 other customers. The ambiance is charming and cozy. The dessert is fantastic!! We will definitely return for many more meals.

Many restaurants in Paris are hard to get reservations, especially for tourists that's coming to town for a few days like us (4 days). We fortunately were able to reserve this restaurant with short notice. The food was AMAZING! 4 cheeese fondue appetizer was soooo good. The sweet potato salad with duck confit was yummy too. Can't go wrong with anything bc we (5) had everything. The grilled chicken with cream risotto. The sesame salmon with creamy cauliflower. The beef stew. Minestrone soup. Asked the waiter, they change their menus every 3 weeks. Too bad we won't be here in 3 weeks; otherwise, would definitely go back again. And the waiter was super friendly and speaks good English

Wow. This restaurant was outta site good. I discovered this place on yelp trying to plan a group dinner for 12 folks who are all traveling to Paris for an event. I called Ana talked to Christophe who asked me to come stop by the restaurant when I arrived and I did that. He was charming. We had a dinner reservation set. Each of us were able to order and pay for our meals separately which made the bill easy for a large party. As for what to eat, everything is good here. I had a caprarise salad for appetizer and the tomatoes were so fresh. The main course I had duck on top of a sweet potato mash. For desert I had a molten chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream. It was Delicious and so fresh. I like it so much I brought a Group of 5 Back the following night for another meet up. That evening I had the squid. So light and tasty. The restaurant was so cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

During our 1-week trip to Paris, we tried a variety of bistros hoping to experience as much of the local French cuisine as possible. L'Acanthe restaurant is the only one we ended up going to twice! Here's why: - Amazing food: By far the best food we've had during our trip. The dishes are reasonably priced. The food is prepared with care; ingredients are fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and the flavor is incredible. - Great atmosphere: This restaurant feels very intimate. You have the choice of sitting outside, with a great view of one of the small streets of Paris, or to sit inside. I particularly enjoyed the bar wall with dozens of bottles of different wines and spirits. - Amazing service: I've had the chance of meeting Christophe, the owner and waiter. The service is professional, fast, and pleasant. He is a great guy to have a chat with. He has a great sense of humor and doesn't appear condescending to non-French speakers. This place will definitely be on our "to-go" places on our future trips to Paris! Also, definitely try the frog legs.

This was a great find in Paris in the Le Marais area on a side street with no cars on the street, just a nice walkway. Very quaint place with terrific food and even a good French IPA on tap. Had lunch here on a Saturday, lovely goat cheese starter and I had chicken a la Normandie with a Mac n cheese side which was excellent. My colleague had the curry fish stew which was also terrific. Inside or outside seating, nice small place.

Charming cafe. We grabbed an early dinner/late lunch after arriving this morning and being so tired we knew we would crash early. The server is charming, attentive and prompt and the food was great. My son had the saumon and he nearly licked his plate. I wasn't much more conservative with my consumption of my canard. Will definitely return before the end of the trip!

This is a quaint restaurant with an inviting yellow and white striped awning. My friend and I sat outside to take advantage of the sunny day. It was a bit noisy (mopeds vroomed through a few times too many), but a good corner to people watch. The place was pretty busy but the service was still attentive. I had the plat du jour which was chicken with some sort of flakey carrot and zucchini pastry. Was good! My friend had the foie gras salad, which I had a bite of and personally preferred it to mine (I considered trying to convince her that I was the one who'd ordered the salad, but she was especially alert that day so it would've been impossible). Aaaand of course I couldn't pass up the Nutella mi-cuit. I pretty much inhaled it. Enough said.

Well priced basic option near George Pompidous Centre is not going to be your highlight meal in Paris, but certainly hits the spot when you're hungry. A few tips for the traveler: 1. There is an unadvertised kid's menu where they can pick between beef + potatoes or pasta + chicken. They'll even swap the sides for the kids if you prefer chicken with potatoes. It's basic and bland, but kids will eat it up. 2. The salads are HUGE and are entrees in their own right. I got the JAWS salad as a starter and was full after eating it. 3. The entrees are good, but come in with the proper level of expectation. This is not a michelin caliber restaurant nor pretends to be. 4. The music is too loud. I have no idea why it's so loud, but it interferes with conversations. 5. There are only 2 folks working as waiters, so service is not particularly attentive. With all of that said, I'd come back. The staff is very friendly and the food is fine.

I happened upon this place when I was about to collapse, I'd walked about 8 miles and was beat. The woman helping was great, very busy, but warmer than most French help I encountered at first meet. The risotto was meh. 3 out of 5 stars, The wine was nothing special to behold and the ambience was hyper French, which was nice. Over all, I felt out of place, like a nuisance, and generally uncomfortable here, but then again I did in must French restaurants. Basic joint, nothing special, and the food was mediocre. Lastly, their Wi-Fi doesn't work on American phones. It's best to have a back up way to communicate.

My wife and I had the risotto at L'Acanthe with a Chardonnay from the Languedoc region. Food was really flavorful, well prepared and fresh. Great street-side Paris cafe, but a few steps above the rest. Highly recommend.

We LOVED this place! It was only a few steps away from our apartment and after a long day in the city we just wanted a yummy meal that we didn't have to travel very far for. Enter L'Acanthe. We were beckoned in by a member of the wait staff and treated to a casual evening of great food (GET THE PORK CHOPS - massive and juicy!), cold beer, and lively conversation with the staff. I would definitely dine here again when in Paris. This impromptu dinner spot was one of the gems of our trip. It should be one of yours as well. Bonus: The staff spoke good English so ordering was a breeze!

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

We split a very fairly priced bottle of wine and ended the night with the scoop of mousse. If they could figure out how to do that intravenously, that'd be great. The mousse reminded me of a great guilty pleasure, which is eating straight out of the can of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting (ask me how I know, I do this often, going to rebrand it to me being European). It was a cute little spot with plenty of seating and a small bar right up front. The problem was that it's so cramped in there. They fully pack that place pretty tight in there. While they take walk-ins, they were so busy that had we not had a reservations we likely wouldn't have gotten a table in a reasonable timeframe. I think we waited about 15-20 minutes outside until our table was ready. As for service, while they weren't exactly rude, they for sure weren't exactly friendly either. This was also a spot that didn't cater too much to tourists by having English on the menu. I don't fault them for that though, it's their country. I would recommend having a translator app at the ready though with French downloaded. As for the food it was a bit of a letdown for me. We had a number of items to share with each other. Without having reliable signal in Paris, it was hard to use the translator app so I'll do my best with the foods. We ordered a ratatouille (don't think it was a traditional one though), a shrimp dish, white sauce pasta, escargot, duck breast and the chocolate mousse. The ratatouille was OK but was just like a roughly chopped cooked vegetable dish. The shrimp dish was fine as well but nothing standoutish. Our favorite dish was my friend's white sauce pasta; it was flavorful, rich and decadent but somehow not overpowering. The escargot, as expected was not good for me, but "When in Rome" (or Paris haha). It was just a weird chewy Thing that just tasted like oil and garlic with whatever herbs they used. I especially was off put by the little grains of sand or broken shell that was a part of each bite. The duck breast was a little bland if not for the sauce and it was also a tad tough as well. I will say the chocolate mousse was super rich and sweet; I couldn't eat that whole order by myself but it's nice to share for a little end of meal treat.
