Found Emin on Yelp March 2026 when the upstairs AC suddenly stopped working, and Emin was there right away and was able to diagnose the problem, replaced a capacitor and got the unit working again. Then the downstairs AC wasn't cooling last weekend. Emin wasn't available so I called another contractor who took one look at the video of the furnace making weird noises and concluded the motor needed replacing, but that he couldn't find the motor anywhere, etc etc and it was such a hard push for me to replace the whole HVAC. After 24 hours of this hard sell on what was going to be the hottest day of the week, I took a chance and called Emin for a 2nd opinion. And miracle of miracles he looked at the video, found the part, and was at the property in 30 minutes. My final bill was a 10th of what the other contractor was selling me! This summer, after going through our warranty company for a check-up, the technician ended up blowing our compressor. We then spent four visits trying to get the AC working again. It never did. Unfortunately, we realized too late that we had been completely scammed. While trying to get it fixed in August, we were also ghosted by another company right in the middle of a heatwave. Needless to say, I was stressed and overwhelmed. At that point, we decided to replace the entire system because we no longer trusted putting more money into repairs. That is when we called Robert Hall and Sons. Mike came out for an estimate, and right away, we felt like we were in good hands. He patiently answered all of our questions and, true to his word, we had a written estimate a few hours later. The estimate we received was beyond reasonable. After we submitted the signed contract, we were scheduled for installation about a week out. A few days later, I saw that another extended heatwave was in the forecast. After everything we had just gone through, I was not prepared to go through it again without working AC. I explained the situation to Mike, along with our HOA requirements, and he worked with us to make sure everything could be done as quickly, quietly, and efficiently as possible. His crew was amazing. They worked quickly, but thoroughly, and had the entire system installed in under three hours. I honestly could not believe how smoothly everything went. I cannot stress enough how professional Mike has been throughout this entire process. After the nightmare we had just experienced with other companies, it was such a relief to finally deal with someone who was honest, responsive, and did exactly what he said he would do. He then CORRECTLY diagnosed the underlying minor electrical problem, replaced the defective part, and upgraded our thermostat to a state-of-the-art Honeywell Home model. I called a few AC shops and the wait time was 2-3days for an appointment, which given the blazing heat, made total sense to me. I called Harry around 3pm and he mentioned that he was in a Pasadena area and would be happy to swing by my house in South Pasadena later that evening, after his all day AC job in the blazing heat! The fact that he was able to do a house visit at 7pm blew me away! He immediately recognized that my AC unit was overheating as I had a bunch of trellis around it ... he was 100% honest, just straight up told me that your unit is overheating and get all that junk off of it and it'll work fine!!!
