I encountered issues with the locks at my property in Pasadena after a tenant moved out in May. Initially, I hired a locksmith service online, and two individuals arrived. It was evident that they lacked expertise and competence. Adding to this, they replaced one of my door locks with a lock that only had one key (it seemed like a used lock), and the price for the service was unreasonably high. Following this disappointing experience, I conducted thorough research and came across Pasadena Lock Shop. Upon visiting the shop, I immediately noticed their high level of professionalism. After scheduling an appointment, Nick promptly arrived. He provided a clear explanation of the problem and proceeded to order the special part needed for my door lock. Without demanding a deposit, he entrusted me with the order due to the unique nature of the lock and the issues caused by the tenant's misuse. Nick dedicated several hours to ensure the lock functioned properly. The result was exceptional, and his fee was incredibly reasonable. Despite my desire to offer additional payment, he declined. In today's landscape, it's challenging to find such a combination of professionalism and honesty. I wholeheartedly recommend this locksmith to anyone in need of their services!!! read more

There is a reason that Pasadena Lock Shop has been around for over ninety years. It's because they're experts at what they do! This mid-century modern secretary had been locked, with no key. Steve Curren, the owner and 3rd generation of his family running the shop, looked at the photos I sent and noted that the lower part of the secretary was open. He then instructed me on how to remove the lock mechanism without damaging the wood, thinking that a key to the bottom, which I did not have, might open the top lock, something I hadn't even considered. I then brought the lock to his shop, where he looked at it and told me that if he had come to the house, he would not have been able to open the lock, but now having the lock in his shop, if I gave him a day or two, he could make key, that hopefully would open the upper lock as well. And it did! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Steve to re-key all the locks in my home, install new locks, and service some of the existing ones. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding! Steve arrived on time, was incredibly professional, and took the time to explain the process for each service. He worked efficiently, ensuring everything was secure and functional with great attention to detail. I appreciated how he went above and beyond, making sure the locks were in top shape. The quality of service was exceptional, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Highly recommend Steve to anyone in need of reliable, top-notch locksmith services! And the price was MORE than reasonable! read more

I am a Property Manager at an Architectural firm, and have worked with these guys for 5 years. Prompt and reliable service every time I call them. I can always count on Rick's knowledge, honesty, and professionalism. This time around Rick and Nick came by to install a door handle on a newly installed door and these guys went above and beyond the call of duty. The door did not line up properly with the strike plate but, these guys managed to resolve the problem, making the door lever work in no time. Thanks Rick and Nick for a job well done. read more

I had a very old Mortise lock that had a broken set screw, Andre worked on it for a while before deciding that the part could not be fabricated. he then referred me to a place that had the part. He was not even going to charge me for his time. He is the best. It's good to know that there are honest reputable folks out there. I will definitely use them again if I run into problems in the future. read more
