Very cute place! Customer service was friendly, kind, and helpful. My husband enjoyed his doughnuts very much. Me on the other hand, not so much. Their gluten-free donuts were very thick and crumbly, unlike their fluffy and crispy regular doughnuts. Soooo frustrated. I spent $12 on 3 gluten free doughnuts, took a few bites, and threw them away. The guy at the doughnut case (who was very nice and patient) said they made the gluten-free doughnuts with garbanzo bean flour. I thanked him and walked away. But like WHY?! WHY?!?! Hey Parlor Doughnuts, if your gf sales are low it's because your gf donuts are not enjoyable. Please try making them using different recipes. King Arthur' flour, Bob's Red Mill flour, or for Godsake even Walmart gf flour is better than that garbanzo bean crumbly mess!!! Walking into the shop the smell of freshly prepared doughnuts envelopes you. There are a sea of different types of doughnuts. It's overwhelming to say the least. The shop was not clean. Doughnut crumbles scattered the seats, floor and tables. I had to clean off our recently vacated table and chairs. The iced cafe americano was good. The hot decaf americano with cream was filled to the very top and was so hot that the cream curdled and he burnt his hand. There are no coffee cup sleeves to be had. We went to the snippy barista and told her about it and she said that's what happens. I can make you another but the same thing will happen. What a new hidden gem to find in St augustine! These doughnuts are by far the most unique that I have tried in terms of them being flaky and fluffy like a croissant with such a sweet and delicious flavor! Out of this world fantastic! We tried Churro/French toast/caramel bourbon and maple pecan! All perfect and divine! We haven't tried the one in Jax so we are so glad one opened up closer!! I tried a bunch of different varieties and while these aren't the typical light and airy donuts they are delicious. Some of the donuts were just ok hence the 4 stars. First time visiting Parlor Doughnuts today. (WGV location) Will probably be my last. The donuts are good but the customer service was not. Was given a coffee full of grinds and when I asked the girl who served it to me what was floating in my coffee, she replied, "Oh, it's just grounds." No offer to get me a fresh cup. They ask your name for the order but when the order is ready, they just yell out what the order is and do not use the name you gave which caused confusion because other customers had some of the same items. I asked for water and the girl just kept saying, "It's down there." I'd never been before so I'm looking for a water cooler or pitcher on the coffee bar. Nope, I finally asked her to please show me and it turns out its a spigot on the order counter that gives you room temperature water. The employees were more concerned with talking to one another than serving the customers. My visit was on Sunday, Sept 14th, around 1:15 pm. Do better or no matter how good the food is, you won't get return customers. read more
