The outdoor patio has one of the biggest screens on Rainey, making it a solid choice for watching live games. They also have great weekday and weekend deals, plus two different boozy slushy flavors. Unfortunately, the slushy machine seems to be broken pretty often, so if you're like me and that's exactly what you came for, it can be a bit of a gamble. They also don't always pick up the phone, so it's hard to check ahead. Their espresso martini is very strong, both in espresso and liquor, so take that as you will. All in all, it's a solid spot to mingle and hang out, especially if you're looking for a more laid-back place to grab a beer, White Claw, or watch a game with friends.

The vibe is unmatched, especially on game days or for hosting any kind of gathering (work parties, dog parties, kid parties, you name it!). There's this huge building that looks like an unassuming co-working space, but it turns out that there is a whole fun world behind it! They have a great setup: there's a little playground, a paddle board court, corn hole, etc to keep kids entertained and they had a huge screen set up to watch the game. And tents! Thank you for having tents and misters! The ambience is spot-on. Overall, we were happy with everything that we ordered to eat. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a bit too saucy, but nice and smoky. The CM Chopped Salad--which was NOT chopped--had a ton of good veggies and a fun dressing. Our daughter managed to finagle two orders of chicken fingers and those were slightly better than the normal junk that comes out. Cold beers on tap, Aperol Spritzes on a hot day--what is there to complain about? We were glad to be leaving when we did because the place was starting to get slammed and rowdy and not as appealing, so be mindful of the partying witching hour. But for a late afternoon World Cup meet-up with friends, this was a good time. Four stars.

Walk in expecting a bland, forgettable dive, get knocked off your feet by actual experience within. It's got a real polished but casual vibe, like it's not trying hard to be so suave. You've got a nice little covered patio, cool indoor space, and an impressive collection of bottles. Maybe it gets rowdy when there's a game, but sports were not the main attraction for me. Killer cocktails, well beyond what's on the menu. If you know your stuff, these bartenders will hook you up. I got a phenomenal Last Word and White Negroni, executed perfectly. There's not a ton of food for vegans but they were able to adapt the fried green tomato sandwich, and the French fries were solid. I'd definitely go back for drinks.

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.
