We got the cardamom Turkish coffee which was really good. Service was unfortunately painfully slow - the place was near empty and I understand it takes time to craft the drinks but 15 minutes later we were still waiting! We also got one cheese borek which was great! The Place is also a little steep - three coffees ( two were double espresso size ) and a pastry ran at $33 That said the staff were nice, enjoyed my coffee and glad we gave it a try

We tried this spot and I was a little skeptical since they have coffee, smoothies, random desserts and pizza?? making a very mixed and random menu....usually not a good sign. I ordered the berry bliss smoothie and my son got the signature smoothie. The berry smoothie was average tasting for $12+. It was nothing special. I would have liked to add protein powder but the $3 add on was a lot so I felt slightly defeated in not having protein added to my smoothie. My son got his and said "it tastes like nothing". I thought he was exaggerating and I tasted it myself. No, he was right. It actually tasted like nothing. It had no flavor at all. I'm not sure how that happens. He threw it away. It was very disappointing. We also got the basque cheesecake which was actually pretty good. Overall, for a $34 price tag including a $12 smoothie that we threw away, would I come here again? No, I won't be back. But we tried it and this is my experience. Go see what you think.

We tried a jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese that was toasted perfectly. Chewy and crunchy and filling. The breakfast sandwich was beautifully made. The chocolate croissant was warmed so the chocolate was melty and the croissant was flakey. Our drinks were well made. Their beans are roasted perfectly. Not bitter at all in the iced Americano. The pumpkin latte was balanced between a spicy pumpkin flavor and just enough sweetness. We saved the white chocolate, cranberry cookie for our road trip, and it was soft and delicious. Honestly, as a baker, you couldn't tell it was gluten-free. It had enough loft, chewiness and a slight crispness at first bite. Also, the service?!? It was super fast for a small and efficient crew! We waited under 10 min for our food and drinks. This was on a Sunday morning at 10 am with a line out the door. If you are in Walnut Creek, this is a must-stop.

For starters , there was no acknowledgment/greeting upon arrival. This immediately made me not want to spend my hard earned money here! The barista didn't offer any help or clarification on the menu after I explained that this is my first time visiting. I was interested in trying some of their unique pastries but due to broken machinery , they were extremely limited on pastries. I brush that inconvenience under the rug, because that is obviously out of their control. So I proceeded with ordering a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, then the barista informs me that they are out of croissants , okay.. no biggie, so I told him I'll have the sandwich with sourdough with an additional up charge to add bacon and ham. 3 minutes after paying , the barista then tells me they are also out of sourdough... so at this point, I told the barista to just use whatever bread they had available. I then received my ice vanilla bean mocha , which was a 4/10 . Nothing spectacular about this drink. Would rather have my boyfriend make me a latte with his AeroPress. Lastly, I receive my breakfast sandwich and realized after leaving Lever Coffee shop that they failed to add my Bacon and Ham on the sandwich, which is a $1.95 up charge!! Mind you I came in for my coffee/breakfast 10 minutes after they opened!! As far as service and food, I wasn't pleased at all. Especially because I decided to try Lever coffee instead of going to my OG coffee shop (3 cross coffee in Castro valley). It was so cute, cozy, and spacious. It was pretty packed when we visited, so there weren't many seats available initially, but we ended up finding one. My husband tried the green juice, which we both enjoyed, although we felt it was a bit on the pricier side for the serving size. I also tried the chili crisp toast and empanada. The chili crisp toast was definitely my favorite!! I loved it and would absolutely order it again! Overall, a really cute spot with good drinks, food, and a great atmosphere. I'd definitely come back!

Sesame can be a strong flavor, but I still tasted the coffee (probably because of how many espresso shots it had as a large). The interior is beautifully decorated just like their Danville location, especially the wall of plants. I also love the quiet room tucked away at the back near the bathroom, more speakeasy vibes. Of course we had to get their English muffin breakfast sandwich as it's always a hit and then we tried some new items for us that aren't offered at other locations - meatball sandwich and a smashburger. Meatball sandwich wasn't anything special, but the smashburger was delicious! Never would I have had thought that my burger would need to be on a English muffin?? A gamechanger. It's amazing how this place has grown, and I'm glad to see what they've done over the years. Their roastery is based in Oakland, but they have started to branch out to Contra Costa and other areas of Alameda County, which I have found quite surprising. I decided that trying their newest store out in Walnut Creek would do it justice -- and indeed, it tastes just like the one I tried in Oakland -- vibes, coffee drink, and pastry, everything with it's local taste. I got an easy vanilla latte -- and a butter croissant. Both tasted just as yummy as they say in other foodies' reviews. The only downside is the guest patio next to their stop -- I wasn't even sure if I was even allowed to sit there. I wish they could have made it clearer for other patrons so that they wouldn't get confused like I did.

My pandan coco latte was actually really well balanced. Most places skimp on the pandan flavor. I sometimes hesitate because of the bright green color. I know it's the natural color of pandan, I just don't like colored foods with unnatural colors like orange or blue. As a child, I wouldn't eat fruit loops and even though I love chocolate, I hated how coco puffs turned the milk brown. I deducted one star because my husband said no one acknowledged him when he came in. A man was at the register and he completely ignored my husband but when the girls were finished making his drink they greeted him. And I will say time and time again, I'm big on customer service. I won't return to a place with abysmal service. lol I will stand on my hypocrisy right now because these drinks were delicious and I would for sure stop by again if we're in town. The shop was quite busy, and I ended up sharing a table with a stranger, but it seems like a popular spot for people to work or study.
