The famous truck

Teo years of deadly virus and the popular Off the Grid has return to Pleasant Hill Wednesday Night. I been attending this Wednesday Night extravaganza since 2014 and it gets better. Hot or cold there are people that are coming to the park. Off the Grid has taken measure to make sure people who are not vaccinated are still wearing the mask. Instead of chairs in the park they now provide tables. Easy for Off the Grid to setup and take down. Pleasant Hill is the home for Off the Grid on Wednesday Night. Second biggest market to Fort Mason Friday Night.

Pretty cool spot, I food was ok and the beer was nice. The vibe and live music was the highlight. I like that it's family friendly.

My favorite Off the Grid in CoCo county! Yes, it's true... lil P-hill really knows how to throw a true Off the Grid Par-tay! The Pleasant Hill Off the Grid is one of the larger markets in the area and usually houses about 7-10 rotating food trucks. I love that they actually provide an adequate amount of lawn chairs that they are available for anyone to sit and lounge in. They also have three portable restrooms with hand sanitizer stations in them AND a little station where you can actually wash your hands! This Off the Grid is held right behind Michael's off of Gregory Lane, and there is always parking available. They usually have a beer garden available with beer and wine that's supplied by a local brewery or pub in the area. I also really enjoy their live music! This market is usually held every Wednesday year around from 5p-9p. During the summer it can get quite busy, but I've never had to wait a ridiculous amount of time in line. What I really enjoy most about this Off the Grid are the variety of great food trucks that they have! The food trucks are usually rotating but they tend to always have a nice spread of trucks that have different types of cuisines. They also usually have around 10 or so trucks whereas the Concord location usually only had about 5-7. Some of my absolute favorite food trucks frequent this Off the Grid! I'm utterly obsessed with Cousin's Maine Lobster truck. I literally had to ween myself off the truck for a while because I was coming almost every Wednesday to get their addicting lobster roll! Another favorite truck of mine is IzzyA's frozen custard truck. If and when this truck is present... a scoop of frozen custard will most likely be in my hand at any given time. There are several other trucks that come here that I enjoy as well. The variety, convenience, and entertainment is what constantly keeps me coming back. If you're in the Contra Costa are and are looking for good eats and good times, you should definitely check the Pleasant Hill Off the Grid out.

Ample amounts of free parking: sweet. Variety of tasty food trucks to choose from: awesome. Dogs everywhere that you can play with: hot diggity dog! You really can't go wrong with that triple whammy. Convenient hours from 5-9pm, so of you don't feel like cooking after a long day at work, you can get your grub on right here! For those who like to unwind with booze, they've got an alcohol truck with a variety of wines and beers to choose from. I kid you not, it's a dream come true according to my alcoholic friends. I believe the trucks rotate so it's not the same every week, but don't expect the prices to change much. Typical food truck prices and portions, but hey, it's OK to indulge in these hipster dining experiences every once in a while. I had trouble choosing, but ended up with a Korean BBQ chicken rice bowl from Bombzies (great name huh?). Korean marinade that was flavorful with a little kick. It comes with a side of kimchi and cucumbers - I skipped the kimchi and doubled up on cucumbers. And of course, I followed this meal with doggy playtime...yes, I literally pet and played with every dog present.

I bought foods from Gyro Stop & Street Steam Bunz. Those are 2 of my favorites. People there are nice too & friendly.

The food truck hype has finally made its way to Pleasant Hill! I have to say, the entire atmosphere and environment is DEFINITELY enjoyable. It almost always seems like a summer block party or family-friendly day in the park. It's the one day a week the neighborhood seems to gather on up and spend some time--and bucks--under the sun. I've had some pretty mediocre food experiences here, as you definitely should and need to look at the trucks' menus. What comes out isn't always as tasty as it sounds--and the price isn't always too nice. I've always been a big supporter of small businesses, but I'd still like my food to be good... Trucks tend to change every week and there are a couple that are consistently there. From sliders to falafels to curry to grilled cheese to garlic noodles, pick your food wisely. And the frozen custard from Lexie's seems to be the single dessert truck here on the weekly. Enjoyable environment, friendly townsfolk and vendors with live music and ample lawn seating surrounding Pleasant Hill City Hall's gorgeous lake/water/pond/whatever it is, it's a fun environment to meet people up and share a beer or wine from the crafty stand set up, though choose your food wisely.

Great place to go on Wednesday Night after work during the summertime! Each week most of the food trucks rotate so your not always eating the same thing every week. Guess what? They serve beer and wine too! Good selection of beers but the wine...not the best (you'll get a headache after 1 glass) By the way, i would say my favorite truck would be the Labsta Truck and their Lobster Roll...sooooo delish!

Review of Cousins Maine Lobster Truck: I've been to larger Off-The-Grid spots but this one is a pretty decent size. Plenty of parking, a good amount of stalls and generally, live music. Otherwise they have a decent sound system. This time I tried Cousins Maine Lobster. Let me be honest with you, I tried it because I saw the food truck on ABC's Shark Tank where their food impressed so much, they nabbed a shark! I tried two rolls- their Maine Lobster roll, served chill with mayo- and their Connecticut roll, served hot with butter. I was definitely expecting to like the Connecticut roll butter bc it was hot but I liked the cold roll! They serve a really good amount of lobster. But they should- it's $15 each! I was pretty hungry and was able to eat both and was stuffed. However, if I only ordered one roll, I would've needed another side to keep me full. Now, this is super pricey for a food truck but that seems to be the trend these days. For me, it's worth it bc I love lobster and I haven't found a restaurant around that serves yummy lobster rolls. Other popular items I saw others order: lobster tacos- you get 3- and lobster loaded tots.

Place is nice and open, lots of places to sit. Not too crowded and the business get your food out fairly quickly. If only there were more trucks!! My favorite is the Koja Truck, I need to come back for the Bacon Truck and hopefully more dessert trucks come by. Sometimes its nice to a get good food truck fix.

Out of all the locations I have attended this is my favorite location. I love how it's open like a park and it has a lot of grass to sit down on with a picnic blanket or the hairs they provide. The ambience is casual with a lot of families and comfortable. It honestly feels like you're at a backyard party of the sorts! If you have the chance to check out the Pleasant Hill 5-9pm event just do it!! My husband and I usually just drop by when we are close and are never let down with the food trucks available!

Happy Anniversary Lobster Roll. Not to bad but can't beat those Maine lobster dishes. Maybe next year.

This is a two star review. I came here at the recommendation of a co-worker and want to like it…read moremore than I did. I think the problem is that I couldn't get past the lack of a restroom in the area. They had some portables, but they are making food and we are supposed to eat it. Where are they washing their hands? This area is also pretty cold so if you go, make sure that you have a coat, scarf and hat. I'll never make that mistake again. But because of the cold, I didn't want to eat outside so our food got a cold, but it was good. My husband liked the food he got, but gluten free options are super limited. They get a third star because of the bar! Now there was only one person working there and that's fine because he could go get a snack or something and come back to pour drinks, but again. The restroom issue. Where does he wash his hands, what if he has a cold and sneezes into them, and so on. That's where my mind went. The vendors are quite nice and were helpful and weren't mean when they answered my GF questions and I appreciate that. So, this is like the little engine that could. I can see that it is a gathering spot for people and they have music and speakers which is cool. So I saw and felt a community vibe and people really seemed to like going. If I lived in the area, I may try it a bit more, but in all honestly, Oakland Museum's Off the Grid event is everything I wish this was. I'm sure that they will get there, but don't want to hang out while they figure it out.

I'm not sure if the selection changes as I only went once, but the selection was smaller than I…read moreexpected and there wasn't that many people there.

I've mentioned this statement in previous reviews: if you are going to be a food truck that…read morespecializes in an American classic such as burgers, hot dogs, Mac and cheese, or in this case, Philly cheesesteaks, you really need to blow me away and especially if you are going to charge an arm and a leg (more on that detail in a minute) I came across this place at the electric Caltrain launch party in Palo Alto. I have actually seen this food truck before but never had the opportunity to order from here so I thought today would be a good day. It seems like their claim to fame is that they use halal meat. I ordered the loaded P and a side of fries. I was pretty underwhelmed with the overall meal. The roll looked like it was bought from a general store and the cheese looked like nacho cheese you get in a can. I will give them credit that the fries tasted fresh but again, I was overall underwhelmed with the whole meal. Truthfully I would have considered giving this place four stars but the total cost of this meal came out to more than $30, which is a bit crazy. I understand we are going through an inflation period but a cheesesteak and fries costing that much is insane. Had the meal blown me away, I would have understood the high price. There may not be many cheesesteak shops in the Bay Area but there are enough where I can compare the quality and price of those shops to this truck. The quality of the sandwiches is definitely similar but the other places are way cheaper. Like I mentioned earlier, if you are going to be a truck that specializes in an American classic and are going to charge a hefty price, then be prepared to impress me. Unfortunately this truck did not pass that bar.

Good portions and fast service for loaded fries. Beef was…read moremore like dehydrated chipped beef. The cheese was melted Velveeta. By the way, Velveeta and American cheese are milk products, not cheese.
