A friend and I went to Parkside for nostalgic reasons, more than anything. The two of us had worked together in the building when it was the Roadkill Cafe some 25 years earlier. Rangeley was super busy over the weekend, tons of snow, lots of visitors and Parkside WAS killing it. We had a couple of very nicely done apps, a tasty cocktail ( at a very good price!) and fun conversation with some like minded customers at the bar from Boothbay. If you are a food enthusiast, connoisseur of cocktails or even a lover of a fine hunting dog ..(talk to Kash about his GSP, Sadie) my guess, any meal, snack or beverage would be excellent there. read more

Really wanted this place to be good. Great location in town and easy seating with lots of tables open. Our waitress was friendly. Unfortunately, service was very slow. Apps took 20 min and arrived just before dinner. Staff handled a meal error in a professional manner and were very nice. Over all food quality was just lacking. $18 for a "coconut chicken with Thai peanut sauce" earned the 2 start review. Over priced, four slivers of squash and a frozen-to-over twice baked. Not bad for a quick weeknight burger, better options around for a "vacation dinner" read more

We were a large group (22) and when we walked in they said we were going to overwhelm their kitchen. They put us outside at 5 different tables with 3 waitresses. This was all ok until one of the waitresses (Molly) opened her mouth. When we asked her if the 5th table could get cleaned off, she said "yeah we have other things to do too" this particular table (out of the 5) was second to order food. They warned us it might not all be ready at the same time which was fine. BUT, the table who ordered second didn't get their food until EVERYONE was done eating. The presentation was awful: medium well burgers that were burnt and microwaved poutine. The waitress continued with attitude and send the manager (Laura) out to speak with us. LAURA WAS JUST AS RUDE IF NOT WORSE. Attitude and walked off sarcastically saying "thank you" and "yup"!!! By far molly and Laura won the worst ever service award, hands down. We will not be returning, EVER. read more

My favorite place to grab a burger & beer and watch a game in Rangeley. Bar is smaller but usually availible during the day, it can get full at night. Some of the better service you will find in Rangeley. Very good burgers, soups and chilli. They also have large meals and they give a good portion. Some of the best desserts in the area. read more

Had lunch here on our leaf peeping trip. We lucked out on this perfect autumn day and sat outside for lunch overlooking the lake. This downtown restaurant is a gem! My wife and I shared a daily special being fried haddock and homemade Mac and cheese as well as a full plate Caesar salad. Both entries were excellent. I had some fish chowder that was stocky and good and my wife had a large memosa. Great day and great food. The service was attentive but our server was new and had not mastered the food and drink offerings menus. If you are in Rangeley you can't go wrong here. You can tell the locals support this place read more

We love this place. The staff works so hard and the food is always delicious. We've been coming for almost 20 years - and have been consistently happy with the food and with its location, overlooking the park and Rangeley Lake. In the last couple of years they've expanded their deck and dining room to meet the demand. Today my husband had fish chowder and I had fish tacos for lunch. Both were incredibly good. Becky was our server - she's been there for 20 years and is as enthusiastic and efficient as ever. Clearly, she does her job. read more

We've been going to Parkside for 7 years. We always have decent meals in a lovely environment. They have recently added a gorgeous deck off the back that views the town park and tennis court. Parkside has friendly staff that is helpful and efficient. This place is spotless. Not sure why so many people ragged on this place. Of all the times we've been coming I can't remember a bad Fish n' chips or dessert! read more

We have eaten here twice, once in August 2013 and once in August 2014. Each time the service was SO slow it was beyond belief. After 2013 we vowed never to return the ultimately convinced ourselves it was a fluke and tried it again. It took about an hour to get 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, a kid's ravioli dinner, a house salad, dinner salad, and burger. At about 40 minutes into the wait, the server said it would be 4 more minutes but he'd try to get the kids' meals out ASAP, and it was another 20 before we got our meal. I should note it was also early, and not busy. It's really a shame because the meal was pretty tasty when it finally arrived! But NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Great food, wonderful atmosphere and exceptional staff. Becky was out waitress when we stopped by she knew the menu inside and out and made some great recommendations. She also went above and beyond telling us upcoming events in the town and where to get a great breakfast. Can't wait to go back next year! read more

This place has : top 3 Reuben sandwich, french fries and #1 French onion soup Ive ever had. The reuben was as good as Fosters Coach House and tje soup was realllly good. Thank you Becky Bear . We will return someday to enjoy. read more

I would never go here again. The food was decent (not great), but the waitress was RUDE. Ate here with my husband and 2 other couples on Saturday night. There were a few other large tables when we arrived, but we were able to get a table right away. The Good: the salad was fresh. I tried the Haddock Oscar--I've had better, but this was good. My husbands steak tips were great. The Bad: for starters, our waitress didn't take our drink order for over 5 minutes--and then she got it wrong. Once our food was FINALLY delivered (which took a LONG time, in spite of a simple order), our waitress asked if we needed anything else--by that point our drinks were empty, so we asked for refills, which she begrudgingly brought over. Not ONCE did anyone check on us while we were eating. Once we were finished, we sat at the table for about 15 minutes before my husband finally got up and asked for our checks and a box. After about 10 minutes more, the check, which we had asked to be split into 3, arrived as one. We asked the waitress to split it up, as none of us carry cash, and she was very rude about it. After she had, we waited several more minutes before she came back to take our payment. The restaurant was not at all busy at this point, so it's not as though she was busy with other tables. I have never had worse service in my entire life. The food was definitely not good enough for me to try this place a second time. read more

Great little place with a view of Rangeley Lake! We liked this place so much that we went 3 times while we were there.Loved the fish & chips! The fish was excellent, as was the tarter sauce (and I don't usually like tarter sauce)!! The fries weren't the best but, okay. Excellent peanut butter cream cheese pie. read more

Very slow service. One hour wait at the table. Food was burnt. This was at 3pm in the afternoon. No apolgies from wait staff.

Ive eaten here many times, always a good experience. The foods on point 99% of the time and the grateful dead, willy nelson, johnny cash on the radio is a great treat for diners in a town usually playing "twangy" country music. read more

VERY GOOD!! Great staff! Very quickly served, great atmosphere, very clean, view of the lake, prices are very reasonable. Will be returning soon!! :) read more

We took a day trip from Freeport and were plenty hungry when we got to Rangeley. The burgers here were great--good size, juicy and smokey--and the fries were hot and perfectly salted. Sampled a few of someone's onion rings and they were yummy, though I'm not sure what constitutes the "gourmet" portion of their title. The cole slaw was delicious, too. Wish the portion had been a bit bigger because it sure didn't last long enough. Happy husband with the Baxter IPA and happy mother visiting from Florida with the fish and chips. Reasonable prices and portion. Take a break from the camp fire and treat yourself to a meal at Parkside & Main while you're up in the woods! read more

Food was great, the server (Becky) was amazing. She was running non stop, so accommodating and patient with my entire family. (Group of 9). She went above and beyond to make sure our dinner and the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. Desert is a must do. All homemade fabulous options. read more

My husband and I ate at Parkside & Main Street in late October 2013 for dinner. Atmosphere was very nice and service was great. We had the artichoke dip to start which was great. My husband had a fish dish and I had a burger. Both were very good. The sweet potato fries were AMAZING. We would definitely go back. read more

The weather was perfect for a delicious lunch on their outside deck overlooking Rangley Lake. The waitress was very accommodating with some special food requests and service was quick. We'd definitely visit again. read more

We were passing through town looking for a place for lunch when we noticed this restaurant with a view of the water from the dining room picture windows. A bowl of chili and a burger were very good. Good service, pleasant surroundings without awful background music. :-) Small, quiet bar in the front of the building. read more

We visited on July and sat with out kids on the back deck over looking the lake. Our waitress was knowledgable and attentive and very accommodating to our toddlers. Food was great. Buffalo wings could not have been more perfect, homemade bleu cheese dressing was amazing. We got burgers and a buffalo chicken sandwich. Both perfect. The food was simple menu choices but they were delicious. They will not disappoint you. I can't wait to go back...... read more

Varied menu. The burger selection covers anything you could desire. Do not miss the poutine! The gravy is amazing! It has a homemade flavor, as opposed to an institutional packaged taste. We ate every bite! It is a good place to take a group with kids. read more

We live about an hour away and make a special trip often to go here. Have never had a bad experience. Only one time I ordered the burrito special and was surprised at the price ($16) But it was good! Will ask prices on specials from now on... The home made pies are a big draw for us (coconut cream.... mmmm...!), and Mike the regular waiter is the best! read more

I would like to retract my review, I thought I was reviewing "The Corner Side". As far as Parkside and Main, one of our favorites. Always good, great bar, 5 Stars read more

Now THIS is where we spend our dining dollars when in Rangeley, and they never disappoint. The service is great, the food is reliably good, and the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and relaxed. Eating dinner on the deck overlooking the lake has become our traditional "last meal" before our camping trip each year. They always graciously handle our large group and make us feel like they appreciate our business. Take notes, Gingerbread House. I know there are always a few burger takers in our group, but I'm vegetarian and I always find something yummy to eat there. We are on our way soon for our annual trip--I will update with specific food recommendations then! read more

This restaurant has zero respect for their customers. We inquired why our food was taking so long after an hour and twenty minutes. The owner's response was, "you ordered at the wrong time, it's your own fault", which was then followed by the owner telling us, "we don't need you and your business, get out". Well good luck. We will never be back, ever. read more

I'm a local, and this is my go-to restaurant. Consistently good. Relaxed. Good beer... good food. Burgers are awesome! Can eat on deck with great view of Rangeley Lake in the summer. read more

Chowders and Desserts are always homemade and the very best in the area. Alway reliable. The coconut custard pies is to die for we even take a piece home for later. Service is always friendly. Not priced out of the ball park like other places in Rangeley. We ate inside but they have an outside deck that has a wonderful view of Rangeley Lake. I believe they are open all year round except for a short part of mud season. Try this place out for sure!!! read more

Had a bad experience with slow service a year ago. Finally convinced my family to try it again on our annual visit to rangeley. What a disaster. Extremely slow service, but worse, the owner was a jerk and told us he didn't need us. My wife ordered a bowl of soup and a piece of bread. 1 hour and 45 minutes later got the soup...still haven't got the piece of bread. Rude rude rude. Avoid at all costs. The owner doesn't need you. read more
