Our group of nine had an excellent experience at Parkside & Main. Service was on point, food came out hot, and everything we ordered was well executed. The panko shrimp were large with a crisp outer crust, the Santa Fe burger was flavorful, and the haddock was cooked perfectly. I had a Bissell Brothers IPA and a Trillium IPA. Both were great beers, but they were served in the "fancy glasses," and after checking the volume against a pint water glass, it was clear they weren't full pours. The Trillium was roughly 12 oz and the Bissell around 10 oz. When I asked, I was told they change the volume based on alcohol content. At $9 a glass, I expect a full pint unless otherwise stated. To show the difference in pour size, I took water from the pint‑size Coke glass and poured it into the "fancy" beer glass they used for my IPAs. The fancy glass filled up, and the water left behind in the pint glass is the amount of beer you don't get with their short pours. It clearly shows the fancy glass only holds about 10-12 oz, and the remaining water in the pint glass represents the missing beer compared to a full 16‑oz pint. Essentially, a 12 oz pour means you're being shorted one‑quarter of a beer. At that rate, a full pint would cost $12. And with a 10 oz pour, a full pint would work out to $14.40. Everything else was excellent, but the beer pour practice feels misleading. Most people ordering draft beer expect a pint, and the menu doesn't indicate otherwise. Great food and service, but the beer pours should be clearly disclosed. I recommend eating here, just ask for a pint glass! read more

Come to the Parkside Family-owned pub located in Downtown Rangeley that sits on the edge of the lake with great views of the surroundings. The Good: *First of all, our server (don't recall his name older white gentleman) was amazing; friendly, funny, and on-point. *Outdoor seating with views of Rangeley Lake. I'm not sure if it's dog-friendly but nothing in this town seemed to be. *Full bar with local craft brews on-tap *Haddock Cakes app (also available as a meal) were fantastic; crispy exterior and nice well-cooked interior full of fish and no fillers. The concomitant Chipotle remoulade was fantastic, as well. *Carissa loved her Beet Salad and the addition of grilled chicken was a good call for some extra protein. *I decided on the Lobster Roll and it was a good call. The bun was soft but had a nice crispy exterior and the lobster was cooked perfectly. The fries were also really, really good and fresh. This definitely made up for the shitty lobstah roll I had a few days earlier . The Meh: *Interior isn't as nice as the outside area, as it seemed a bit cramped and dark for our liking. *Two unisex restrooms, but they're both "one-man shows." The Ugly: *Lobster Rolls come either buttered (Connecticut-style) or with Mayo (Maine-style) but they were out of my preferred Connecticut-style at the time of our visit. :( Conclusion: This was by-far our favorite meal in our time in Rangeley, as they had everything one could want from great service, delicious food, and views for days. Love Parkside and the amazing people who work here. Food is always fresh and delicious. Tacos are my go to but mix it up occasionally. Last trip had us at the bar with the owner Kash. Friendly and knowledgeable about the area and his restaurant. This trip we had the steak special which was cooked perfectly for us both. Decorated with outdoor recreation items as well as pictures of the region. Outdoor dining is available during the warmer months of the year. Situated next to the town park entrance makes it a great place to eat while watching people play tennis, disc golf, or playing with their dogs. This is the place for home made desserts which we were too full to have this trip. We will be back, again , and again read more

Waited for service a long time. Finally A young server helped us. The restaurant was freezing, warmer outside than in. The Onion soup was thin and tasteless and melted cheese like rubber, the hamburger raw, the fish tacos tasted like fish sticks. The caesar salad dressing was nothing more than mayonnaise and lettuce iceberg instead of Romaine. And it took ten minutes waiting to pay our outrageous bill. Zero stars... We will never eat at this establishment again and mention to those we know, since we are from the area, the same. read more

We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the view of the park and Rangeley Lake. I wish I had taken a picture of the view, but I didn't. We had stopped for a quick lunch before going on a hike. I had the beet salad which had grape tomatoes, goat cheese, pickled red onions, and a maple balsamic dressing. It was fresh and delicious. The service was prompt and attentive. The menu offered several vegetarian items including a veggie burger. There were several delicious looking (and possibly homemade?) desserts such as fruit pies and gingerbread on the menu which I regrettably didn't try. The Ruffo Burger. The classic burger. The burger the burger the burger. This is where we go when we have a craving for a perfect hamburger, fries and beer. Consistently the best burger and fries in Rangeley- hands down! Their chowder is good and some of the other dishes have been a little more hit or miss but the burgers are outstanding, reasonably priced and cooked perfectly. The service is always friendly and easy going. The vibe is relaxed and fun. Sit at the bar and hang with the locals. It's a treat! read more

Five fabulous stars for this little gem in Rangeley! My husband and I were there on Saturday, August 16 for lunch. I had the haddock tacos and he had a bowl of clam chowder. The haddock tacos were superb! The haddock was cooked perfectly in a light (gluten-free) coating. The slaw and veggies were light and fresh, and they were expertly put together with a delicious sauce and fresh herbs. Went perfectly with my icy cold beer. Simply delicious! My husband's clam chowder was very similar to the one I make at home, from an old family recipe. He shared a few spoonfuls with me and the creamy broth was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of creamy goodness with loads of butter. The clam pieces were just the right size and so yummy. I can't say enough about the chowder because I think it's the best that I have tasted in any restaurant. Hands down, We sat out on the back deck on a gorgeous summer day enjoying views of the lake. There was a light breeze and no bugs. Just a perfect lunch all around! Our server was so friendly and such a delight. She always had a smile on her face when she came to our table. Can't wait to get back to Rangeley and do it again! My son and I stopped in here for a late lunch recently, what a great surprise. The weather was beautiful and we sat on the back deck overlooking the lake. We only had the appetizers, but they were excellent. Our favorite was the crabcakes, but the buffalo chicken nuggets were also very good. Absolutely delicious food and friendly service 2 days in a row. Yesterday we had the fish and chips with haddock per our waitress who has worked here for many years. Tasty, hot, non-greasy and a light batter with great tartar sauce. We came back and today had Santa Fe burgers with onion rings. Delicious with crunchy tortilla bits sprinkled on top made it great.I had the haddock chowder and it was made the right way - a tasty thin milk/cream broth (no gloopy fillers) with haddock and small-diced potatoes. I would make this with fewer potatoes, but I devoured it and wouldn't hesitate to order it again. Both days we sat the back patio with a view of the lake. Hope to return soon! read more

We climbed 6000' and hiked 20 miles in the past 2 days, so we brought a powerful hunger... this cute little tavern/barn/boathouse vibe put us right at ease. Lots of beams and slate. Fishing and hunting motif fitting the lakeside views. We had a lovely sunny table with views of kids playing and boats going by. Our waitress was knowledge and welcoming. She helped me navigate a tap menu full of regional beers and ciders with great patience. Our food was exceptional. The chowdah was excellent. The house goes for a less-cooked, more pared down creamy broth with lots of fresh clam. The potatoes still look like potatoes, not over-stewed lumps. Very yummy. I added steak tips (GET THEM) with my beet salad on our waitress' advice and she could not have been more right. Adam's bleu burger was moist & tasty with plentiful fresh bleu cheese. Fries likewise well-cooked and fresh. We finished our late lunch with a walk to the water's edge in the park directly out the back door. read more

Lovely location with outdoor seating and view of the water. Indoor seating has a few tables with the view as well. Fantastic service, friendly, knowledgeable etc. I wasn't particularly hungry but wanted to sit, read and have a beer after hiking. With a recommendation from the waitress I had a great pale ale and enjoyed a bowl of their daily chowder (chowdah), clam chowder was the special today. It was good with plenty of clams but wish the potatoes had cooked down more to thicken the soup more. That might just be a personal preference though. I absolutely loved this little spot. All I can say is: GET THE POUTINE! They make it with Vermont cheddar instead of cheese curds and it was out of this world. We also really enjoyed the gingerbread cake. It was served warm with fresh whipped cream. A sunny Saturday when peak fall color is showing off? This place was hopping for lunch. We opted not to wait for an outside table in favor of immediate seating. We watched the crowds continue to stream in. Our server looked overwhelmed and apologized for the wait. We get it - they were understaffed and working to manage the crowds. The food was worth the (not too long) wait. Hubby said his burger was one of the best he's had in a while. He upgraded to get fries instead of chips. My veggie burger was a solid 9 on my veggie burgee scale. Definitely not one of the crappy Impossible or Beyond Burgers. I asked for the Santa Fe toppings instead of the standard way it would be served and it was very flavorful. read more

We are here twice while in Rangeley for a long weekend. The draw was convenience the first time but the second was because the food was so good the first time!! The beet salad with walnut dressing was hands down the best thing I had. Outstanding flavor combos!!! With that I also had the coconut shrimp. Those were really good too. The Maui honey mustard sauce that came with it was really interesting and yummy! The other time we went, my husband and I split a burger and chicken tenders. Both were outstanding and the fries are fresh cut and cooked perfectly. Only negative thing I have to say was the bar tender was kind of rude to a few of the waitresses. We stumbled up P&M while exploring Rangeley and simply picked this spot because of the large outdoor deck. When we arrived, it was very busy as there was a concert in town that evening. Our waitress was extremely busy with ALL the tables on the deck, but she very friendly and attentive. We had salads for starters, fresh greens but basic salad. We both got the chicken marsala, and it was very good! I opted for mashed potatoes versus pasta and this was no big deal for the kitchen . My friend had hers with pasta and it was equally as good. We enjoyed the outdoor seating on the lake and the food was good. Would definitely return. read more

Definitely one of the better bars in the area to sit down and grab a quick bite. They offer a large variety of food and drinks, and everything was tasty. I recommend eating outside because the view out there is better than what you would get inside. I would recommend when compared to some of the other lunch spots on the main strip. read more

If you stop here for drinks or a bite to eat and it is nice outside the back outdoor patio is a must to eat on. Great views of Rangeley Lake with a nice breeze. The staff was friendly and attentive as well as suggested what to eat. I was surprised when I looked at their taplist and they had a great variety of craft beer I did not expect for this area (including a Triple IPA from Other Half from NY and a heavily fruited sour from Tripping Animals from Florida and even a 14%+ Barleywine from Barreled Souls). Must stop for those enjoy craft beer. I ended up deciding on having the fish and chips which came with a small serving of slaw along with a good amount of fries and two pieces of haddock. It was all tasty but I could have used some more slaw and maybe a little more fish. My girlfriend went with the poutine and mozzarella sticks appetizers together as a meal. The poutine was way bigger than I anticipated it would be but the mozzarella sticks were on the cold side so could have passed on those. Overall a tasty meal while in the area and a surprisingly good taplist with a great outside view. Give this place a try if you are in the area. read more

Stopped here for lunch today and wanted to sing some praises. First, they're taking COVID seriously--from face coverings, to spread-out seating (especially in the lot), to actively cleaning surfaces--the crew here cares and it shows. Beer list is really solid, the hand-cut fries make for pretty great poutine, and I might've had a few of my daughter's coconut shrimp. We left happy and full. Count me as a fan.
