If you're headed to beautiful Rangely Maine, do yourself a favor and make Sarge's sports pub and grub part of your adventure. Come by foot, motorcycle, bike, side-by-side just get there. The food? Absolutely worth the trip. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, let's be honest those curly fries stole the show and had my salad blushing with envy . My bloody Mary was good, although this girl would've loved just a little more "bloody" in it but that's just one woman's opinion. My husband went with the chopped steak and cheese, loaded with just the right amount of peppers, onions, and gooey cheese. the wings, we all shared were crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, exactly how wings should be The service? Our waiter was refreshingly laid-back, he did his job, no more, no less. No complaints here just calling it like I see it Shout out to the hostess, who was a sweet as she was hard-working, keeping everything moving, despite the busy crowd. Why are you there? Don't just stop for the food. Rangely is one Maine's not so hidden gems, surrounded by breathtaking mountains Crystal clear lakes, scenic trails and endless opportunities for hiking fishing, kayaking, ATV, riding or simply soaking in the views. Good food. Gorgeous scenery. Small town charm. read more

Good selection of beers. Service was great and food was really tasty. Definitely a local hangout. Will be back.

Up in the Pub Locally owned and operated Pub that's been in operation for over 25 years (ca. 1999) and was featured on America's Best Restaurants website and YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/yo0VtMHXP1w?si=AD_Z6WJwhCdMA0KE). Renovated back in 2018, this charming family-friendly sports bar is located in the heart of Downtown Rangeley and serves up the usual cavalcade of Pub food, from fish and chips to burgers and even pizza. You know, the four food groups. :8) The Good: *Terrific service by our waitress, Miranda *Outdoor dining (not sure if it's dog-friendly) *Tons of TVs for sports viewing action *Free street parking and you can also park in the nearby lot to the park. *Very reasonable prices (we're from Cali so take that fwiw) *Great selection of local micro and macro brews on-tap *Onion Rings were worth the extra upcharge *Carissa ordered some kinda haddock chowder and couldn't stop raving about it. *Pastrami Reuben was outstanding. The Pastrami was piled high and sliced nice and thin; the bread (marbled rye ofc) was crispy and toasted perfectly; and it had just the right amount of Swiss, 1000 island, & sauerkraut to make it perfection. The Meh: *Interior is a little loud The Ugly: *Not the place to be if you're looking for health food. I mean, yeah, they got a few salads on the menu, but not much else beyond. Conclusion: Terrific pub fare and drinks in a family-friendly environment. Highly recommended. read more

Great place. The food is great, the service is also very good. It's a fantastic place to visit when you are in Rangeley... it's a really cute place inside also. read more

Had an awful experience from the moment we walked in and got progressively worse. Was ignored by the hostess twice, when I asked how long the wait was she responded with "idk 20 min, it's a long list here" We were seated upstairs, served by Teena. Five tables around us sat, ate, and left before we got our food. Teena offered no update until we stopped her to ask. We were minutes away from walking out when the food arrived 1.5 hours later she didn't acknowledge the delay or apologize. The food was basic, nothing exciting. We paid and left, and as we were walking out Teena followed and berated us for giving a poor tip (12%) and walked away before we could respond. I'm in shock at how bad this service was. read more

Excellent. super clean, friendly service, tasty fresh food, fabulous vibe, owner/manager knows how to pivot quickly and meet the customer's needs. read more

Ugh... skip this place. I don't understand why they were just awarded best restaurant and on a show. All of our meals were not good. I got the chicken parm and literally got sick later that night from it. It was so deeply fried and the chicken was incredibly tough. My husband said the pizza was edible and "well it's hard to mess up pizza" My son would not touch his chicken fingers. Our waitress was very kind and did a good job though. read more

Service and food was great. 16" bbq chicken pizza was bigger than we anticipated- ate lunch, dinner and bfast. Well worth the price Also purchased the tortilla soup and salad along with the a potato appetizer. Plenty of TV's around the bar wall to watch sports while you enjoy your food. Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. If u catch yourself in Rangeley, please stop at Sarges! read more

The hostess was rude and disrespectful. We took our business down the street. We will not be bringing our money to a place that acts like we are putting them out to provide service. read more

Best food and staff you'll ever find, a true Maine gem and a good place to dance and sing on the weekend.

Great haddock sandwich and plenty of draft beers on tap. There was on street parking and an extra lot across the street. The staff was friendly and attentive. Good place to have a late lunch and a beer. read more

This seems to be where da locals hang. We just had a beer and some potato skins but it was all pretty awesome, If my dog wasn't in the car I would have sat at the bar all day. read more

Unfriendly staff, no smiles or friendly greetings. They weren't even busy and it took 48 minutes for our meal to be served and then the fries were cold. One of us ordered the dinner portion fish & chips but was served the lunch portion, when questioning the waiter said oh we don't serve the dinner portion at this time. Not sure why this was not explained when it was ordered! Waiter refused to split the check 4 ways but then a manager came over and we asked for our check after waiting 30 minutes for the check. We asked him if we could split the check 4 ways and he said of course. We have eaten here before and it was always great and staff are usually friendly! read more

Fun casual spot for drinks or lunch. Start with cheese nachos, not traditional texmex, very tasty. Lobster roll was terrific. Fries were crispy delights. No room for dessert. Several local beers on tap. Shawn took outstanding care of our party of 6. Check out this old biwling alley turned into great party place. read more

I went there for pizza. Service was slow but the pizza was worth the wait. My husband compared the pizza to matterhorn pizza, but after i had a slice or two i realized the pizza is far better. Im looking hard for the best pizza in Maine this pizza is pretty good and worth the wait. read more

Staff super nice, great relaxed atmosphere, pizza super good, great tap beer line up. This is where the locals go (instead of tourist traps like the bowling alley), Best place to eat after 7pm within 50 miles of rangeley.. read more

The wings were amazing. MUST GET! Service was fine & a great spot for watching live sports!

Outstanding find! We were promptly greeted with the option of seating at the bar or dining area. Our server, Sean (spelling?), was on point. Our drinks and food items arrived as ordered with great timing. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean and had a very chill and welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. I went there for lunch yesterday with a client and I ordered the special sandwich which was grilled chicken with cheese and guacamole. It was so good! Am still dreaming about it! Everything was very nicely presented, and the service was very good. I will definitely go back. The ambiance is especially great for sports fans, because there are so many TV sets on with games on! read more

Very busy place in town, fast friendly service. Food was very good pub grub. They do not take reservations so you have to wait for a bit.

I've been going to Sarges for many years. I've always liked the place and since they've completely revamped it I still love it. It's not as much of a dive as it used to be which was one of the things I loved about it but it's still a great place to go. I had the fish and was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Hubby loved the French onion soup and his tuna melt. Drinks are well made and service was terrific! read more

Fries were served cold - turkey was not hand from a fresh turkey- one of my wings was not cooked (Korean wings as an appetizer) told waitress she didn't seem too concerned. Service was ok and ambiance was good read more

We watched our waiter blow his nose and then dig his hand into the ice cooler to fill his cup with ice without washing or sanitizing his hands first. He then went into the kitchen and grabbed food. There was a patron that took upon the task of rolling the silverware with napkins for the waitress. He brought it all back to his table with many others sitting there eating and never cleaned his hands either. The food was horrible! The hamburger bun appeared to have mold and the cocktails tasted like poison and were undrinkable! read more

Wow! Where to begin! This place is absolutely insane, if you're in the mood to be physically fought by drunk townies then this is the spot! If you want all eyes on you in the worst way from the moment you walk in, definitely stop by! Talk about a bang to end your wedding night! After speaking with ownership a year in advance about having an after party here boy was she upset to see us arrive! While we were fully aware the bar was to be open to the public and have karaoke going on I didn't know the owner would refuse to speak to me when I just wanted to ask where we were supposed to be sitting. After being rude to all members of my wedding party AND my parents who were going to be paying lavishing at this dingey little sports bar, we tried to enjoy ourselves. They didn't allow us to start an open tab for our guests after even offering our cards, and I got called a Big B by the staff! I also got to watch Crystal talk sh*t about me and my guests behind the bar with her staff. So professional and sooo mature for someone her age, although I guess her subpar botox is supposed to make you think otherwise. Crazily enough, I had only two drinks at my wedding, but Crystal for sure pre-gamed for me, don't worry everyone loved the slurred karaoke MC-ing. having only water here really brought it to my attention, hard to enjoy yourself when every. Single. Townie is STARRING at you. Anyways, I really liked the part where Crystal told my husband of 6 hours to go f*%k himself while he was trying to peel his little brother out of the grips of some nasty drunk womans fists. (She was mad someone from our party bumped into her at a sports bar at 12:30am her husband was kind enough to back her up to the much smaller females nearby). Ownership was seemingly encouraging the townies behavior! Imagine backing a customer who not only tried to fight 1 person let alone 4. Thanks Crystal!!!! You really left us with an unforgettable after party! read more

Sarges always has reliable service and great food. Always recommend the wings or pizza

Walked in, was treated so rudely by the hostess and walked out immediately. Terrible welcome to Rangeley

This is a typical sports pub with a good selection of food. Beer list was Ok. They had a wide selection but hoping for more local options and not so many domestics. Some of the food was ok. Fries were overcooked and hard. Curly fries were good. Had buffalo tenders which were yummy. Will say the french onion soup was the bomb! One of the best my wife and I have had. Service was subpar at best. First time we went the waitress seemed to be off the clock halfway through our meal but never gave us the bill or told us we had a new waitress. Was a little confusing. Second time we went we had the same waitress who forgot our waters and after our food came did not come back for 20 minutes. The manager had to come and help us. She never asked us how things were or thanked us for coming. Lastly, they did pretty good with Covid. Did not expect much for such a rural area but the wait staff always had masks up and so did the vast majority of customers. Manager kept patrons to 50. However, the bar manager seemed to not understand she should keep the mask above her nose and often over her mouth. This was while behind the bar without barriers and when walking around the dining room. Besides her things went quite well. read more

Happy to finally be able to get in here! Excellent service with delicious burger. Korean wings were very spicy. Recommend if you're looking for a great pub atmosphere with great service and good food! read more

Our party of 4 stood at the "please wait to be seated" sign for 5 minutes before my husband went to the bar to ask about getting a table where he was ignored for an additional 5 minutes (multiple empty tables, wasn't a packed night by any means). Finally sat down and were ignored for another 10 minutes before someone asked if we had been helped yet. We left, didn't even get drinks. read more

Fun atmosphere but the food was pretty average. I sat at the bar with my dad and we ordered beers, Buffalo tenders and a cheese pizza. Personally, I think the pizza has too much cheese on it but it you are into an extremely cheese pizza then you'll probably like it. Staff is friendly and attentive. Multiple servers checked up on us. Lots of tvs at the bar so definitely a good place to watch a game. Overall, solid sports bar in the Rangely area! read more

Well, my family and i are visiting from NY / NJ and decided we would try this restaurant .Firstly, i have to say it was one of the worst that i have tried since we came to Rangeley. The waitress came by with a very cold approach . Not a smile but just seemed like she did not care to be working. I ordered the veggie pizza and Oh My Goodness it was about the worst pizza i have ever had. I tried adding salt but it did not help i asked another staff member if she would mind getting me some grated cheese, well that did not help until i had to leave it all. When we were done paying the bill i asked the bartender who was there walking around by the tables if that pizza served was a frozen pizza and also if the waitress who served us was always that unfriendly. He laughingly responded .....well....I don't know in a tone like he did not know what to say. All i can say is i have to be honest about my experience. The service was terrible and the food was just as bad. We will NEVER go back there. read more
