Had an awful experience from the moment we walked in and got progressively worse. Was ignored by the hostess twice, when I asked how long the wait was she responded with "idk 20 min, it's a long list here" We were seated upstairs, served by Teena. Five tables around us sat, ate, and left before we got our food. Teena offered no update until we stopped her to ask. We were minutes away from walking out when the food arrived 1.5 hours later she didn't acknowledge the delay or apologize. The food was basic, nothing exciting. We paid and left, and as we were walking out Teena followed and berated us for giving a poor tip (12%) and walked away before we could respond. I'm in shock at how bad this service was. read more

You know, the four food groups. :8) The Good: *Terrific service by our waitress, Miranda *Outdoor dining (not sure if it's dog-friendly) *Tons of TVs for sports viewing action *Free street parking and you can also park in the nearby lot to the park. *Very reasonable prices (we're from Cali so take that fwiw) *Great selection of local micro and macro brews on-tap *Onion Rings were worth the extra upcharge *Carissa ordered some kinda haddock chowder and couldn't stop raving about it. *Pastrami Reuben was outstanding. The Pastrami was piled high and sliced nice and thin; the bread (marbled rye ofc) was crispy and toasted perfectly; and it had just the right amount of Swiss, 1000 island, & sauerkraut to make it perfection. Absolutely worth the trip. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, let's be honest those curly fries stole the show and had my salad blushing with envy . My bloody Mary was good, although this girl would've loved just a little more "bloody" in it but that's just one woman's opinion. My husband went with the chopped steak and cheese, loaded with just the right amount of peppers, onions, and gooey cheese. the wings, we all shared were crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, exactly how wings should be The service? Our waiter was refreshingly laid-back, he did his job, no more, no less. Ugh... skip this place. I don't understand why they were just awarded best restaurant and on a show. All of our meals were not good. I got the chicken parm and literally got sick later that night from it. It was so deeply fried and the chicken was incredibly tough. Unfriendly staff, no smiles or friendly greetings. They weren't even busy and it took 48 minutes for our meal to be served and then the fries were cold. One of us ordered the dinner portion fish & chips but was served the lunch portion, when questioning the waiter said oh we don't serve the dinner portion at this time. Not sure why this was not explained when it was ordered! Waiter refused to split the check 4 ways but then a manager came over and we asked for our check after waiting 30 minutes for the check. We asked him if we could split the check 4 ways and he said of course. We have eaten here before and it was always great and staff are usually friendly! read more

I've been going to Sarges for many years. I've always liked the place and since they've completely revamped it I still love it. It's not as much of a dive as it used to be which was one of the things I loved about it but it's still a great place to go. I had the fish and was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Wow! Where to begin! This place is absolutely insane, if you're in the mood to be physically fought by drunk townies then this is the spot! After being rude to all members of my wedding party AND my parents who were going to be paying lavishing at this dingey little sports bar, we tried to enjoy ourselves. They didn't allow us to start an open tab for our guests after even offering our cards, and I got called a Big B by the staff! I also got to watch Crystal talk sh*t about me and my guests behind the bar with her staff. So professional and sooo mature for someone her age, although I guess her subpar botox is supposed to make you think otherwise. Crazily enough, I had only two drinks at my wedding, but Crystal for sure pre-gamed for me, don't worry everyone loved the slurred karaoke MC-ing. having only water here really brought it to my attention, hard to enjoy yourself when every. Single. Townie is STARRING at you. Anyways, I really liked the part where Crystal told my husband of 6 hours to go f*%k himself while he was trying to peel his little brother out of the grips of some nasty drunk womans fists. We watched our waiter blow his nose and then dig his hand into the ice cooler to fill his cup with ice without washing or sanitizing his hands first. He then went into the kitchen and grabbed food. There was a patron that took upon the task of rolling the silverware with napkins for the waitress. He brought it all back to his table with many others sitting there eating and never cleaned his hands either. The food was horrible! This is a typical sports pub with a good selection of food. Beer list was Ok. They had a wide selection but hoping for more local options and not so many domestics. Some of the food was ok. Fries were overcooked and hard. Curly fries were good. Had buffalo tenders which were yummy. Will say the french onion soup was the bomb! One of the best my wife and I have had. Service was subpar at best. First time we went the waitress seemed to be off the clock halfway through our meal but never gave us the bill or told us we had a new waitress. Was a little confusing. Second time we went we had the same waitress who forgot our waters and after our food came did not come back for 20 minutes. The manager had to come and help us. She never asked us how things were or thanked us for coming. Lastly, they did pretty good with Covid. Did not expect much for such a rural area but the wait staff always had masks up and so did the vast majority of customers. Manager kept patrons to 50. However, the bar manager seemed to not understand she should keep the mask above her nose and often over her mouth. Well, my family and i are visiting from NY / NJ and decided we would try this restaurant .Firstly, i have to say it was one of the worst that i have tried since we came to Rangeley. The waitress came by with a very cold approach . Not a smile but just seemed like she did not care to be working. I ordered the veggie pizza and Oh My Goodness it was about the worst pizza i have ever had. I tried adding salt but it did not help i asked another staff member if she would mind getting me some grated cheese, well that did not help until i had to leave it all. When we were done paying the bill i asked the bartender who was there walking around by the tables if that pizza served was a frozen pizza and also if the waitress who served us was always that unfriendly. He laughingly responded .....well....I don't know in a tone like he did not know what to say. All i can say is i have to be honest about my experience. The service was terrible and the food was just as bad. We will NEVER go back there. read more

Fun atmosphere but the food was pretty average. I sat at the bar with my dad and we ordered beers, Buffalo tenders and a cheese pizza. Personally, I think the pizza has too much cheese on it but it you are into an extremely cheese pizza then you'll probably like it. Staff is friendly and attentive. Multiple servers checked up on us.
