The Rangeley Tavern is a welcome respite from through hiking the Appalachian Trail! The husband and I stumbled in here after being on trail for a couple hundred miles with no time off. Although we did have a shower before dinner, I'm sure we were a mess! The staff were so very welcoming and the menu had a wide assortment of fabulous offerings. The inside of the establishment was reminiscent of old school lodge meets cigar lounge. Very cool and relaxed, slightly upscale without being pompous vibe. We ordered green apple martini (perfectly mixed) and a beer. For starters we had the charcuterie board with warm bread. The board had a fabulous assortment of meats and cheese.. the bread was amazing For dinner I opted for the steak frites, which was a perfectly prepared (Med rare) ribeye and had cut fries. My husband had the blue cheese bacon burger that's was off the rails perfection! I wish i had room for dessert, but wow, the portions were huge! The food here is fabulous. Pricing is reasonable. Come as you are environment, but showers highly encouraged! The staff is warm, welcoming and fun to chat with! I definitely added this to our list of "must return to" spots when we finish the trail!!

Looking for a place to eat on a Monday evening is hard with limited options available. Chose The Tavern at the Rangeley Inn for something different. Historic Inn and Tavern has a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere where one can relax and slow down. Waitress this evening was also the bartender. A good crowd which made us a little nervous about how long it would take to eat. Erykah was timely greeting our table as well as bringing our drinks and taking our order. We ordered after a table of 8, so we will see how timely it will be. We ordered three seafood items offered in the menu, Shrimp with Linguini, Salmon, and Mussels. We enjoyed a nice conversation with the table next to us and before we knew it their food was up, and not too long after, ours arrived. Everything was delicious. Mussels we steamed with a nice wine and garlic sauce and served with delicious bread. Salmon was also very good with fresh Broccoli and potatoes. Shrimp dish was also very good however my son made it disappear! In haled it it was so good! We had a great experience and will be back again.

The Tavern is exactly what Rangeley needed. Upscale, yet unpretentious, the food is great and the service attentive. Everyone here works so hard to make one feel welcomed. It feels like an extension of home. We dropped in on a busy Friday night, in search of lighter fare. The menu is broad and we have enjoyed full meals here before. Without hesitation, we both stated that we each wanted the Caesar salad and the Coconut Lobster bisque. Delicious!! The bisque had plenty of meat and had an Asian flair. The house biscuits were made from scratch and were delicate and yummy. Best meal, best food, best service in town. We'll be back.

Parkside & Main - Fresh Maine Lobster Roll w/ slaw & chips ($33)

Parkside & Main

Come to the Parkside…read more Family-owned pub located in Downtown Rangeley that sits on the edge of the lake with great views of the surroundings. The Good: *First of all, our server (don't recall his name older white gentleman) was amazing; friendly, funny, and on-point. *Outdoor seating with views of Rangeley Lake. I'm not sure if it's dog-friendly but nothing in this town seemed to be. *Full bar with local craft brews on-tap *Haddock Cakes app (also available as a meal) were fantastic; crispy exterior and nice well-cooked interior full of fish and no fillers. The concomitant Chipotle remoulade was fantastic, as well. *Carissa loved her Beet Salad and the addition of grilled chicken was a good call for some extra protein. *I decided on the Lobster Roll and it was a good call. The bun was soft but had a nice crispy exterior and the lobster was cooked perfectly. The fries were also really, really good and fresh. This definitely made up for the shitty lobstah roll I had a few days earlier . The Meh: *Interior isn't as nice as the outside area, as it seemed a bit cramped and dark for our liking. *Two unisex restrooms, but they're both "one-man shows." The Ugly: *Lobster Rolls come either buttered (Connecticut-style) or with Mayo (Maine-style) but they were out of my preferred Connecticut-style at the time of our visit. :( Conclusion: This was by-far our favorite meal in our time in Rangeley, as they had everything one could want from great service, delicious food, and views for days. Highly recommended.

Friendly and knowledgeable about the area and his restaurant. This trip we had the steak special which was cooked perfectly for us both. Decorated with outdoor recreation items as well as pictures of the region. Outdoor dining is available during the warmer months of the year. Situated next to the town park entrance makes it a great place to eat while watching people play tennis, disc golf, or playing with their dogs. This is the place for home made desserts which we were too full to have this trip. We will be back, again , and again

Renovated back in 2018, this charming family-friendly sports bar is located in the heart of Downtown Rangeley and serves up the usual cavalcade of Pub food, from fish and chips to burgers and even pizza. You know, the four food groups. :8) The Good: *Terrific service by our waitress, Miranda *Outdoor dining (not sure if it's dog-friendly) *Tons of TVs for sports viewing action *Free street parking and you can also park in the nearby lot to the park. *Very reasonable prices (we're from Cali so take that fwiw) *Great selection of local micro and macro brews on-tap *Onion Rings were worth the extra upcharge *Carissa ordered some kinda haddock chowder and couldn't stop raving about it. *Pastrami Reuben was outstanding. The Pastrami was piled high and sliced nice and thin; the bread (marbled rye ofc) was crispy and toasted perfectly; and it had just the right amount of Swiss, 1000 island, & sauerkraut to make it perfection. The Meh: *Interior is a little loud The Ugly: *Not the place to be if you're looking for health food. I mean, yeah, they got a few salads on the menu, but not much else beyond. Conclusion: Terrific pub fare and drinks in a family-friendly environment. Highly recommended.

I tend to lower my expectations a little bit when I find myself in smaller towns in rural areas, and this spot did a nice job exceeding them. My first time at the Black Pearl and I'll call it a fantastic addition to Rangeley, great space that felt well lit and comfy in a cold late winter night. Sat at the bar and had a really tasty blue cheese burger with an upgrade to risotto. Highlight of the night was the St. Paddy's special Guinness espresso martini. I had no plans for 3 of anything like this, but I had 3! Service was fantastic taboot!

More sauce on the fish would have been a 10/10. The blueberry margarita was great as well. the wings were okay, a little too overcooked and i would've liked to see some homemade ranch. The chicken parm was absolutely terrible unfortunately. Flavorless, the chicken was too thick, pasta was stale, and it was freezing cold. I haven't sent back a dish in over 5+ years and unfortunately I had to send the chicken parm back it was inedible. the vibe of the restaurant was not great as well. We overheard other tables talking about how poor their food was. for example "freezing cold chowder" "my burger is cold" "i could cook better at home" "i'm not paying for this". it definitely added a negative vibe to the experience. This place needs WORK and needs it asap. The wait times were okay, but the kitchen has a lot of work to do. I hope the new owners step it up, we love rangeley and come yearly, but for this place to survive they need passion and some blood sweat and tears to get this place up to par compared to the other restaurants.
