I ate at the Stratton three times during a week I spent in Stratton. Mentally I divide places that…read moreserve alcohol into two types: 1. a restaurant with a bar 2. a bar that serves food. Stratton Plaza is the latter. You enter through a sort of game room area (ping pong, pool tables, etc.) to a large room with a bar, tables and a dance floor. Service is good, quick, and friendly, although you may have to flag down your server from behind the bar. My rule for 'bars that serve food' is to stick to bar food; on one night I violated that rule and ordered a Turkey Dinner. (Shaved deli turkey, cranberry jelly from a can, stuffing from a bag, etc.) Pretty bad, and another example of why I should stick to the rules. The other two nights I had a veggie pizza. This was actually very well done, with a good crust and nice selection of veggies that avoided the 'compost' state of some veggie pizzas. Burgers at the next table also looked good and prices are very reasonable. The beer is fine, with several local beers on tap. Fine place if you remember that it is a bar that serves food.

Some new food recently include the orange cauliflower (incredible), the veal jager schnitzel (the best entree I've had in a long time) and the potato chip haddock (so fun and creative). They also always have dishes that are super consistent and always delicious. The Brussels spouts are some of the best I've ever had, the rack of lamb is always good, the donut is incredible, and the red Thai curry is always super flavorful. The service has always been top notch. Heidi, Anya, and the team are so friendly, kind, and caring. They are great people who bring so much to the restaurant! Couldn't have a better team! The restaurant is cozy, in a former house, and has lots of charm. It's great!

Great place to stop for a drink after a day on Rangeley Lake, you can get there by boat and dock at the Loon Lodge Inn dock. The decor is rustic and warm and there is a wonderful view of Rangeley Lake. Would definitely come back again.

Their specials are great but everything on their regular menu that we've tried has also been delicious! This is definitely our go-to spot in the area! Our favorites are the pasta dishes (particularly the tortellini)! The staff is also always nice and we've gotten pretty lucky with little to no wait to be seated every time we've come in (though we've seen others have to wait longer).

I went to here with my friend last week on our way back from a wedding at Sugarloaf Mountain. We…read morehad initially drove by this place, and decided to keep on going because we assumed it was yet another dispensary on these rural Maine roads. I got a falafel roll, and it was very, very nice. They seemed to read my mind and make about half of it pickled onions. I also tried their kombucha, which was definitely not as good as I was hoping for. Their cornbread, which has maple on top (or something similar, I can't recall) was also not as good as I was expecting it to be. The bathroom is difficult to find and it is bike themed once you get in there. There were not many people at the place and it still took a long time to get the food, but we were not in a hurry so this was totally fine by us and we got to enjoy their lovely seating area outside. I would go back to this place, but if there was anywhere else in this town that looked as good as this place did, I would probably try that first next time. They wraps were, however, fantastic.

We started with a margarita - I got the spicy margarita and my wife got the special which was an orange cinnamon Margarita - she loved it and mine was excellent as well. Each was also a large serving - not in some tiny little glass for too much money as sometimes happens. We started with the buffalo roasted cauliflower, and we loved it. Too many times this dish is ruined by heavy breading for the cauliflower or having it be too oily and greasy. This one was lightly roasted and full of flavor served with a side of blue cheese dressing. Because it was happy hour (which is 4 to 630 on Thursday, Friday and Monday), we were able to order a two topping pizza for $17. The mushroom and ham topping was just right everything was cooked perfectly. We have our own Ooni Koda 16 pizza oven, and I make my own dough, so we're pretty particular about pizza. Everything about the pizza is just right though, sauce, toppings, and the bake in the pizza oven in the back. I'm definitely gonna be a regular here just for the pizza. We each got a glass of wine to have with the pizza, and my wife's white wine was pretty good, but my red had probably been open more than one or two days prior and wasn't especially great. I hope that the owners invest in a nitrogen in ear system of some sort - they're not expensive or hard to use. The staff was very attentive and helpful, and they helped us quickly get an order in before the end of happy hour which we appreciated. This is a fantastic and needed addition to the Kingfield / CV area

While visiting family in Maine, we decided to try Bear Belly's based on a recommendation from…read moreanother relative. There was plenty of parking, and the atmosphere was enjoyable--spacious, comfortable, and featuring an outdoor bar with live entertainment. Our waitress was attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. I ordered the burger with onion rings, while my wife had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The burger was cooked perfectly, though the roll--similar to a ciabatta--was a bit too firm for a burger. The onion rings were fairly standard, likely the frozen battered kind. My wife enjoyed the flavor of her pulled pork sandwich but found the bun too soft. It almost seemed as though the rolls for our meals may have been switched. Her fries were unfortunately soggy, as if they had been sitting under a warmer. Overall, Bear Belly's offers a pleasant dining atmosphere and friendly service, though there's some room for improvement in the consistency of the food preparation.

Today, we hit the nail on the head. Just opened for the day we parked in front. Walked up the stairs and read the sandwich board with specials. Walked in to a cozy environment with wood accents, musical instruments on the wall, local artists work on the walls (also for sale), tiny flower vases on each table was very inviting. We chose to sit at the bar. Bartender was happy to see us and gave us specials information and told us to just holler when ready. Menu had a good variety of food I chose the chili and hubby their smash burger. Kitchen is located directly behind the bar. It is sparkling clean! The stainless steel was glowing it was so clean, I LOVE that having worked in F&B. While waiting bartender made small talk which we like, not overly sharing but enough to feel seen. Chili came with homemade cornbread that was toasted and out of this world DELICIOUS!! Chili was really good too. Not too spicy, thick with diced tomatoes, tinier peppers, and nice pieces of meat. Wowza was that good. Smash burger did not disappoint either, hubby said it's one of the best burgers he has had. They have a full display case with their homemade desserts so you can see before you buy. I was stuffed so did not take up on the offer. We did get a glance at the chef when we came in and asked the bartender to please give our compliments to the chef! Make sure to check for their hours, they open later than other places on Saturdays. They have a food truck outside, maybe they cater? Lots of outdoor seating for the nicer weather. If you are in the Western Mountains of Maine, don't drive by, stop and grab some amazing food!
