We ordered for 4, i had the shrimp with onion rings! I was excited about this because it's Atlantic shrimp I'm from Texas we have gulf shrimp! Order came out shrimp was more like pop-corn shrimp onion rings were amazing! The shrimp was decent 6/10 but size wasn't what i was expecting they were bite sized!! The Looney Moose quite possibly could be the best breakfast spot in the country. Everything was cooked to perfection. I'm a big fan of sausage links and they do them right here. the Looney Moose does not play around when it comes to pancakes. I got a massive stack of delicious blueberry pancakes. Maine is the best state in the country obviously and it's not even close, and this place represents maine well. Very friendly workers and a very cozy place to eat. Excellent place to visit. This restaurant is about 7 miles north from Sugarloaf. The service is superb. The menu is simple and to the point with a wife variety for all taste buds. The food was excellent and with plenty of flavor. The ambiance was good because it made you feel at home. Me and my friends went while on a trip and got one of the worst service experiences ever, sadly the food if very pricey, 20$ for one burger, we realized how pricey it was and decided to only order some fries, mozzarella sticks, and a sandwich, which costed 50$ total. While eating the entire kitchen staff was staring at us the entire time and we heard them talking about us, they were calling us names, we heard the term "brokies" being thrown around, cause the cooks were upset that we only ordered appetizers, despite us being nice and also tipping, we only had one respectful employee who was our server, the fries were very good, but we will never go back, very disrespectful read more

If you are anywhere near Eustis, you must go for breakfast! We went to Eustis for the weekend and went twice, both delicious! Great staff and chef! Day 1 we had egg dishes, the Eastern Omelet was delicious, it was nice to have an omelet on the menu I could order without changing the meat to avoid nitrates. Day 2 was even better. Didn't have to wait too too long for a table but definitely don't expect to be seated right away if visiting at a busy time. We called ahead to make sure Looney Moose could accommodate our group of 12, and sure enough, when we got there a table had been set up for our group. There isn't much to say here other than the fact that the portions are HUGE. Take a look at the photos of the pancakes here and tell me they aren't the thickest you have ever seen in your life. $35 for a steak and eggs and steak came out raw and looked like only one side had been barely cooked. Asked them to refire and it came back very rare. I ordered medium rare and at best I got rare that had overcooked on one side. No accommodation was made or offered for the steak which I didn't eat. Even with a proper cook the darn thing didn't seem to have even been seasoned anyway. Server was ok but didn't make the obviously undercooked steak right. We had the worst experience ever. The food was cold, the server was extremely rude when I politely said something, and yes, I was very polite. And, the cleanliness was anything but. There was a hair on our table, no biggie, it happens. Then, there was a hair in my soda. They need to be more careful. The floor was filthy. I very, very rarely write a bad review. My husband and I decided to try the Looney Moose for lunch today. It was a small, cozy place with lots of funny signs on the walls, my favorite being, "Unattended children will be given espresso and a free puppy." They are hardcore on the moose decor, they even have moose string lights! The waitress was very friendly and on top of refills and checking up on us. I had a simple grilled cheese with tomato and bacon, but there was a generous portion of bacon on my sandwich, and not thinly sliced either! The best part had to be the mouthwatering strawberry shortcake. Even the presentation was delicious! Looney Moose is one of two places to get a sit-down breakfast in Stratton. It's open earlier (7AM), so I stopped in in a day when I needed an early start. Decor is classic mom-and-pop, a bit down at the heel, but clean, and the server was very friendly. There was a table of regulars there and, from the half-dozen motorcycles out front, a group of bikers in the back room. My short stack - 2 pancakes - with bacon seemed to take a long time. When it was served, I saw the reason; the bacon had been cooked to order. But not completely cooked. Parts of it were still red and it was soggy and greasy. The pancakes themselves were just okay - a bit dry. The server did try and keep my coffee full but seemed a bit overwhelmed by the folks out back. Maybe lunch is better. read more

Had an excellent chicken BLT this time, my son had their large burger. I ordered chips with mine, they were fresh cut and cooked chips, served warm!!!! What a great surprise!
