I went to here with my friend last week on our way back from a wedding at Sugarloaf Mountain. We had initially drove by this place, and decided to keep on going because we assumed it was yet another dispensary on these rural Maine roads. I got a falafel roll, and it was very, very nice. They seemed to read my mind and make about half of it pickled onions. I also tried their kombucha, which was definitely not as good as I was hoping for. Their cornbread, which has maple on top (or something similar, I can't recall) was also not as good as I was expecting it to be. The bathroom is difficult to find and it is bike themed once you get in there. There were not many people at the place and it still took a long time to get the food, but we were not in a hurry so this was totally fine by us and we got to enjoy their lovely seating area outside. I would go back to this place, but if there was anywhere else in this town that looked as good as this place did, I would probably try that first next time. Very disappointed in our service today. When we first sat down, the waitress rudely told us to not touch the umbrella. She proceeded to open it for us, no big deal. A few minutes later she brought our drink order, but brought me a different drink than what I ordered. When she brought it back to the bar, my husband was on his way to the restroom and overheard her making a snarky remark to the bartender and people sitting at the bar about me not wanting it. She literally brought the wrong drink! Then when she brought our burritos she literally dropped mine on the table in front of my husband and he slid it over. Rolling Fatties is a must stop if you are in the area. I try & stop by every time on my way back from Sugarloaf or after hiking Bigelow. My personal favorite thing to order is the freedom fatty. What I love about it is the inclusion of fresh local ingredients. I also love that you never know what you'll get which keeps it fresh & exciting. The service has always been great no matter if I'm ordering up front at the bar or sit down in the restraint area. I find the staff to always be friendly & outgoing. The ambiance is pretty unique, especially for a burrito joint. The interior I think is an old house adding to the uniqueness of the place. My only wish is that it was closer to Sugarloaf. read more

This spot was super convenient stop on our way up to Sugarloaf. The ambiance was cute and quiet, felt like I was in a little house. The food was delicious, loved the guac type dipping sauce and for vegetarians, the falafel fattie was to die for. Also recommend trying the berry hard cider if they have it. I think it's a stretch to classify this place as Mexican or even Mexican-inspired, so it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. New experiences can often be good and fun, but this one was disappointing. While I could see myself liking the "groat" in a breakfast food, the texture totally threw me off in a burrito. I wouldn't say the other ingredients were really typical of a burrito either, but the rest weren't as far off as the "groat." The flavors worked ok, but the tortilla was dry and the insides were too wet for the burrito's structural integrity. The burrito I got was rolled to be as short and fat as possible, causing there to be bunches of tortilla at the ends and not enough overlap in the middle to keep the thing together. It quickly split at the opening after my first bite. There was enough moisture inside that the whole thing then completely disintegrated into a pile of mush. When I order a burrito I don't expect to need a fork to eat it. One other note: I found the menu to be very crowded to read and there was a lot of non-menu specific info so it took a bit of time to decipher everything. All in all, I would say this is very niche. I won't be back, but I can see as how other people might feel differently, hence my 3 star rating. read more

Found in the middle of gorgeous, this wonderful surprise is a definite five star stop. Fresh, solid take on Tex-Mex served in the owners' beautiful garden. We sat at the outdoor bar for some creative and delicious cocktails. There is indoor dining as well in the equally beautiful farmhouse on the property. Menu includes groats - a chewy,yummy grain that compliments the blacks beans and tex-mex flavors.So tasty! Owners and staff are v friendly and welcoming. Service is attentive and fast. The food at Rolling Fatties is delicious. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients made with lots of flavor and love. Rob and Polly are amazing and so friendly and also support a lot of other local businesses and charitable causes. For their food and service alone, I give them 5 stars. However, the reason I gave them four, and almost gave them 3, is the price. I get that it's all local food which is nice, but I've eaten there 3 times and each time for just a singular burrito and a drink have paid $20. I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. I could see if it was a full meal that includes a side of rice and beans and guac (granted, the burrito is enough for a full meal then some), but I mean come on, $20? You can go to any other similar burrito style restaurant/stand/food truck in Maine (see Bruce's Burritos in Yarmouth) and pay closer to $10-$12 for a burrito that's just as good and also made with fresh, local ingredients. Maybe they have a lot of overhead? Not really sure. I love their food and would highly recommend stopping here on your way to and/or from Sugarloaf, but I personally only eat here about once a year because I just can't bring myself to pay that much for a burrito and soda more often than that. If the prices were more reasonable I would eat here ALL THE TIME! read more

Best burrito and burrito bowl I've ever had. You can actually taste the freshness. Yes it's a little on the pricier side for burritos, but it's local and fresh ingredients. I suggest asking for their spicy hot sauce because it really kicks it up a notch. Both cheese options are great but the ricotta gives the burrito some extra creamy love. We Love that they always have great local craft beer on tap too. It's a great way to end your ski weekend adventure. Staff is always friendly and attentive. The whole place just gives you a warm, local vibe even if you're not a local. read more

OMG! The hubby and I took the bike up to Kingfield today! The food here is absolutely delicious! Everything is locally grown or as close as humanly possible! Your tastebuds will be delighted! They certainly don't skimp on the portion size either! They serve local Maine Craft beers and Cider! Yummy! They will talk with you and help you decide what flavors you might enjoy! They made us feel like old friends! We've already contacted family members to take another ride back tomorrow! I am in Kingsfield for a ski trip. Many people recommended this restaurant. First of all menu is very confusing. Hard to order and they charge extra for meat, lettuce, cheese, guac and anything else that would actually go on a normal burrito. The people were passive aggressive as well. Just finished my fatty and I just vomited it up. don't go here!! For a drink and a fatty I paid over $20. I could have gone to a 5 star restaurant for this. This is one of the best quick bite spots in Kingfield. The burritos / fatties are well made with ultra fresh ingredients and they don't skimp on a single item. I'd highly recommend stopping in with your friends or family. They serve wine and alcohol as well as a variety of really good non-alcoholic beverages like lemon and honey soda. Parking is easy, and despite there being several people ahead of me, I was served quickly. So go in, grab a seat and menu, then step up to the counter and order. It's that easy. read more

Having slaved in the kitchens of Maine and NH I believe that I can speak to the quality of this place. I also practically grew up on Grannie's burritos in Portland. The ingredients are top notch. The atmosphere is like home. They have the Allman brothers jamming out on the speakers and playing on the for goodness sakes The owners/operators clearly live/love what they do.
