Fantastic interior/decor/ambiance. Service was friendly but extremely slow. Our meals were very appealing and delicious, but very pricy for the small portions. I wasn't very hungry & left not remotely full, when eating every bite of a full entree. (Using the term full entree loosely as it was a sm chicken schnitzel w/no sides except a little salad on top). The tasty quality of food & the setting saves it w/4 stars... otherwise it would be a 2-3 star review. May be back on the more rare occasion for a change of scenery, but wouldn't make this a regular in the rotation (I'm a local) read more

Stopped by the Biergarten on Sunday afternoon and loved it. Tried the Pilsner and Hefeweizen plus the wurst plate, soft pretzel, and haus pickles--everything was excellent. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and a big bonus for sourcing ingredients locally. So glad to have a spot like this close to home. read more

Not sure how they cal call that pizza pizza. I spent $63 and literally had one bite of every item and was sadly disappointed.

It's not my intention to disparage a new business but there is definitely room for improvement. The atmosphere is cool in an old mill. There appeared to be many beers to choose from. It was the menu that was less than appealing. Where is the German pot roast or heartier meals? I recently attended an event and was served a sampler platter. When it came out we all looked at each other like, "where's the rest?" I'm not a big eater but this was smaller than a child's plate of food for $15. A tiny slice of chicken schnitzel, a small golf sized ball of potatoes and sausage, a piece of sausage the size of my thumb, 3 teeny tiny pickles and two sides of sour cabbage along with three tiny dipping sauces. We ended up ordering a pretzel thinking that would be filling and that was not great either. We all left hungry and totally unsatisfied with the offering. We were driving to Quebec and knew we would be driving through Skowhegan. After researching local restaurants, we had planned to stop in on the way to Quebec, but decided to stop in on the way back. The website and menu looked awesome. Couldn't wait to try. We arrived on Sunday night. The place looked very cool. There was band playing. However, the vibe was, "who invited you? Why are you here?" from the patrons and the staff. We stood in the doorway for 5-10 minutes before we were seated. The waitstaff was not at all rude, but not welcoming either. She took our drink orders (the Pilsners were great). When she came back to take our order, she told us it would be a long wait because the kitchen was backed up. I asked "how long" she could not give an estimate. I asked "an hour?" she shrugged and said "maybe." Clearly, she was told to get rid of us. So we paid for our drinks and left.
