Then, Chad called the morning of my appointment to let me know they were running a few minutes late. They were less than 10 minutes late, and I appreciated the heads up. Chad and Ryan were professional, friendly, and communicative. They shared their logic and their process and asked follow-up questions to make sure they understood the assignment. They treated my belongs with care and worked tirelessly for 3 hours to make sure the truck with packed properly. I didn't have to help them move anything, so they were worth every penny! I'd scheduled the company to move some boxes from one house to another but the crew did not show up, and I received no communication about them being late. When I contacted the company 45 minutes after my scheduled time, I was told the team was stuck in traffic and I ultimately had to rearrange my weekend and reschedule the pickup to the next day. When I tried to address the lack of customer service and professionalism leader, I was told, "When the jobs are mid day and the morning job has bad traffic and takes longer, there isn't much we can do to make it go faster...we aim for a time, but it's not a guarantee at the exact time when we are going all over the place." The moving crew themselves were extremely efficient and polite enough, and the price for the move was fair. I hired Park Ridge pickups to remove a large wood shed with a peak shingled roof located next to a new expensive composite fence. Chad and Frank showed up on time and did an excellent job. Both were professional and courteous.The shed was deconstructed and placed in the dumpster provided by Kilmurry dumpster rentals who also did an excellent maneuvering his truck through some challenging conditions taking place at the time of delivery. Park Ridge Pick-Ups is a nice find that I stumbled upon when preparing to move to PR. They apparently can do moves, but it's more that you'll pack the stuff and they will load and unload it for you. I can't remember if they do it in their own trucks or what... so if you're looking to them for residential moving services, particularly a whole-house move, you'll want to call and find out more about how it works. For a small move or moving a few large items I'd definitely give them a call. But what surprised me is that PRPU does a bit of everything, so their name is really a misnomer. The core business that I assume they started with--pickups and drop offs--is really a necessary service which I'm surprised is so difficult to find, honestly. But they have folks that do handy-work (I had a couple guys come and set up some curtain rods in my daughter's room), can do some TV mounting, and even have a guy who's known around town as the baby proofing expert at Park Ridge Pick-Ups. These guys were reliable, efficient, and did a good job. I've used them twice and I'm glad that they're a company I can count on. When I used them in the summer of 2024, it was $110 per hour; I'm not sure if or how rates may differ for different services, but at least this will give you an idea of what you can expect. read more

Park Ridge Pick ups is one of the best service companies I've ever dealt with. Everybody is so nice and so professional. Their prices are very fair and all the workers are hard-working and very friendly. They moved my mother-in-law several times. They've cleared my garage out. They repaired a pergola for me Today. They even picked up bark mulch, and delivered it to my house and spread it through my plant beds. This company provides an amazing service. We hired them to move my belongings from a college dorm room at Northwestern to a storage space in Evanston. They arrived on time and worked nonstop. She had a lot of things. They never complained and it was hot and there was one very small elevator. They took great care moving everything (sturdy and fragile). We will be hiring them again in the future. I wish there was a word for better than GREAT. I needed someone to run a small amount of furniture to southern Illinois from Chicago and boy did I choose the right company. Mike and Nick were early and in removing and loading a dresser , chairs, and dining room table they couldn't have been more careful and attentive. Then the nearly 4 hour delivery ride and upon getting to the destination they met my daughter. Unloaded and assembled the table. They were fantastic. They were fantastic! Was able to squeeze me in today for one hour worth of work needed, which included; moving large TV and stand out of my place, hanging pics, bringing up cases of water/pop and changing many lightbulbs. I had surgery and limited in what I can do. They were very polite, very efficient, prompt and super nice. I would highly recommend using them. You won't be disappointed. Oh.. Their pricing is very fair. Also.. Alex was telling me how they hire some High School kids and teach them lots of things that aren't being taught in HS any longer. I had 2 young guys come out, although they moved quickly, another van, NOT TRUCK, had to be called out. I guess this third guy was a supervisor, although he was a talker. The speed of the first two guys slowed down, and it seemed like getting things done in a timely manner and making sure things weren't broken, weren't a priority any more. I have three totes broken, two of which I have to replace, as they weren't mine, and found a few items in boxes broken. Will NOT be hiring them again. read more

Used Park Ridge PickUps for a move from a condo to a house and they did not disappoint. The rates were fair and the communication was great. The guys arrived on time, they were courteous, thorough, professional & helpful throughout the move. Moving day can be very stressful as it is, however they did a great job handling all our items. We had a 2 BR condo and had a lot of items (rented our own U-Haul truck, which they packed for us) and used their (Amazon sized delivery vans which they provide with their service). I would highly recommend using Park Ridge Pickups for a move & contacting them to find out what works best for you and your situation. They broke down our bed frames then rebuilt them upon arrival & carefully transported our TVs etc. Overall they took the time which a lot of other companies do not while still being efficient.
