Having lived in the house for a long time, I needed two visits to clear out several large items, including heavy furniture, an old refrigerator, and a window air conditioner unit as well as other items stored in the garage, attic and basement. Danny and his team handled everything perfectly. The team was professional, efficient and very careful not to damage the house while moving the bulky items out. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price, especially considering the extra labor required for the large items, like the refrigerator. The service was excellent from start to finish. If you're looking for a reliable, honest hauling service in the area, I highly recommend Danny and his crew. As I said, I used them once and called them again.

They were prompt and professional in those dealings. The unfortunate part of this transaction is that the movers chipped our concrete stairs on the way down, one 4 x 2 inch section and the next step just a nick. They were aware of it as they removed the piece from the porch. When the business owner got in touch with my husband and asked him to leave them a good review, my husband mentioned this chip. No response. I reached out through their business website to also tell them, and crickets. This disappointed me and was not very professional.

Booked ACM Movers for a local Chicago move on 9/19/2026, estimate 18843: hourly, one truck, four…read moremovers, full service. Written estimate $1,743. The crew that showed up was not briefed on the job. They did not know we had booked packing / full service. The lead mover asked if we were doing the packing. If your sales estimate includes packing, the Saturday crew should already know that. Sending a labor-only crew on a packing job wastes time and puts items at risk. They then added a $200 stair fee that was not on the signed estimate. Nobody quoted us a price for the stairs when we booked this move for a third-floor unit with no elevator. Their portal only says that more than 24 steps "will be extra charge." It does not say $200, $400 or $1000. Hourly pricing already charges for the extra minutes stairs take. A flat $200 after the truck arrives is a move-day surcharge, not an estimate. We also could not reach a dispatcher when it mattered. The lead mover said the truck might be too small and told us to call the office. On Saturday, customer support would only route us to claims, with a 1-7 business day response. We had a same-day landlord deadline. That is not support. After a full day we had to go back to the old apartment with our own cars and haul what they left so we would not be fined. If you inventory a 2-bedroom plus basement and garage, send a truck that can finish, or have a same-day backup. The issue was not that the movers refused to lift. The office sold full service, sent a crew that did not know that, under-sized the truck, added a fee that was not on the paperwork, and had nobody available on Saturday to fix it. Get packing, truck size, and any stair charge in writing before move day. Do not count on a dispatcher.

Walked thru instructions on how to get to loading dock of highrise and check in. Guy says great, you are set. All good so far. Early morning Tuesday they call when I'm in shower and leave message saying will be there in 90 minutes (which would be 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time). Also said unless I call back, they aren't coming at all. So I call back. Guy starts off by yelling. Says he called me but I didn't answer. I remind him appt was already set and confirmed. Then he goes off and says how does he know if I'll really be there and that now he will start sending guys to come in about 90 minutes. I say I'd like you to please honor the appointment time. He says ok will send guys. He then says will call me from outside. I remind him we had already walked through need to check in at dock. He then blows up more and says I don't need this, go hire someone else and hangs up. Wow, what great service. Do yourself a favor and avoid losing 24 hours thinking they will honor a confirmed appointment. Just start off by going with someone else.

Nancy is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone in need of some serious organizing/downsizing!…read moreFrom our very first phone call I was extremely impressed. My husband and I hired Nancy to assist my mother in organizing (years worth of clutter) and downsizing before a long distance move. We live in Florida and could only do so much on our trips back and forth and Nancy was the glue that held things together in what was a very overwhelming situation for my mother. Nancy worked closely with our whole family and went above and beyond what we expected. She is kind, patient, positive, respectful, and just an all around pleasure to work with. She was excellent with my mother, who is older and suffers from cognitive loss and she really rolled her sleeves up and got the work done.... helping my mom sort through all her possessions, connecting us to a paper shredding company for destroying years worth of unnecessary paper, helping get appraisals for valuable items before the move, organizing for furniture to be taken by an auction house, making many trips to haul donations to the Salvation Army, shipping items to me in Florida, helping with the movers on moving day... the list goes on. Her help was worth every penny and without her things would not have gone nearly as smoothly. Nancy gave us something I didn't expect during this difficult transition and that was peace of mind. We are extremely grateful, thank you Nancy!!!
